Timmy's in the Well is the autobiography of Jon Provost, who is now sixty-two years of age and who had played the fictional Timmy Martin, the adopted son of the fictional Ruth and Paul Martin (characters who were played, respectively, at first by Cloris Leachman and Jon Shepodd and then by June Lockhart and Hugh Reilly), on Lassie from September 8, 1957, to September 13, 1964.
Lassie was produced by Jack Wrather between 1956 and 1973. It was between 1955 and 1957 that Jack Wrather's production company turned out two other programs, The Lone Ranger and Sergeant Preston of the Yukon. A publicity photograph of the Clayton Moore, who played The Lone Ranger from 1949 to 1951 and then again from 1954 to 1957 (and in two feature length motion pictures, one in 1956 and the other in 1958), Richard Simmons (the actor, not the exercise nut, who portrayed Sergeant Preston, and a young Jon Provost can be found on Provost's website of reminiscences, Recollections:

Why I have entitled this article as I have and included the photograph celebrating utter (but thoroughly inoffensive) naturalism within it?
Another good question from the peanut gallery.
The answer is simple.
Well, it is because I think that this photograph of three of my favorite actors (Lassie not included as an "actor") is more pleasing to the eye than a real life "Timmy," Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan, the conciliar "archbishop" of New York, and the real life naturalists with whom he posed on Thursday evening, October 18 2012, the Feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist, during the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in the Borough of Manhattan in the City of New York, New York:
Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, Timothy Michael Dolan, Willard Mitt Romney
(One can see former George Hebert Walker Bush media consultant and the current President of the Fox News Channel, Roger Ailes, seated in the row behind this unholy trio, situated between Dolan and Romney in this display of utterly offensive naturalism)
There he was, rolling in his seat with laughter, a modern day "Timmy in the Well," if you will, except that this "Timmy" is in the "well" of Americanism, which is what made it possible for Catholics to accept the prevailing culture of religious indifferentism and naturalism uncritically to such an extent that it would be possible for them over the course of time to consider the likes of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Willard Mitt Romney worthy holders of the public weal.
As has been noted so many times on this site and in my other writings and the many lectures that I used to give across the nation, the Catholic bishops of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries prior to the dawning of the age of conciliarism with the "election" of Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII on October 28, 1958, presumed that the American constitutional framework permitted Catholics to live "in peace" with all men of "good will" regardless of their religious beliefs or lack thereof. They never recognized the insidious dangers posed by pluralism and religious indifferentism, never understood that naturalism and its ethos of sentimentality and emotionalism based in rank human respect was slowly converting Catholics to a blithe indifference to the horror of sin itself. The only thing that kept most Catholics from apostatizing was that they had the benefit of assisting at true offerings of Holy Mass, thereby being able to save and thus to sanctify their souls despite their uncritical acceptance and exaltation of all things American and despite their immersion in almost every aspect of the popular culture.
Writing five years after he had warned the American bishops in Longiqua Oceani, January 6, 1894, that they were failing to teach his social encyclical letters to the faithful so that Catholics could understand that they had an obligation to plant the seeds for the conversion of the nation to the true Faith, Pope Leo XIII, abandoning the polite language he had used in 1894 to praise the ability of Catholics to practice their Faith in the United States of America while warning of the dangers he saw, explained to James Cardinal Gibbons, the Americanist Archbishop of Baltimore from 1877 to 1921, in very direct terms that the dangers to the life of the Catholic Faith in this country were more serious precisely because they were insidious rather than a direct assault upon the Church's very existence here:
But, beloved son, in this present matter of which we are speaking, there
is even a greater danger and a more manifest opposition to Catholic
doctrine and discipline in that opinion of the lovers of novelty,
according to which they hold such liberty should be allowed in the
Church, that her supervision and watchfulness being in some sense
lessened, allowance be granted the faithful, each one to follow out more
freely the leading of his own mind and the trend of his own proper
activity. They are of opinion that such liberty has its counterpart in
the newly given civil freedom which is now the right and the foundation
of almost every secular state. (Pope Leo XIII, Apostolical Letter to James Cardinal Gibbons, Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae, January 22, 1899.)
Pope Leo XIII explained near the end of his Apostolical Letter to James
Cardinal Gibbons that he feared that at least some of the
American bishops did indeed desire the American model of the religiously
indifferentist civil state, which is so praised by Joseph
Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, to be adopted by the Church herself as the means
of "reconciling" herself to the "modern" world:
For it [an adherence to the condemned precepts of Americanism] would
give rise to the suspicion that there are among you some who conceive
of and desire the Church in America to be different from what it is in
the rest of the world. (Pope Leo XIII, Apostolical Letter to James Cardinal Gibbons, Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae, January 22, 1899.)
Pope Leo XIII was not just a whistlin' Dixie. The Americanists
themselves had spoken boldly of their intention of using the American
regime, based on an indifference to the true religion and on the belief
that men could be virtuous on their own powers without belief in, access
to or cooperation with Sanctifying Grace, as the foundation of a
veritable "new world order" based on the myth of American
Monsignor Henri Delassus documented the beliefs of Americanism's very
own "founding father," Father Isaac Thomas Hecker, concerning the
"universal" mission of Americanism to "evangelize" the Church, if you
will, by quoting one of Hecker's early biographers, Abbot Klein:
American Catholicism" is not, in the thought of is promoters, a
way of thinking and of practicing Catholicism solely in the contingent
and changing things that would be common to the United States, in
accordance with the particular conditions that are found on American
soil. If this had been so, we would not have believed it incumbent upon
us to be concerned with it.
No, their pretension is to speak to the entire universe: "The ear of the world is open to our thinking, if we know what to say to them,"
Msgr. [Bishop of Richmond, John] Keane had written to the Congress of
Brussels. And in fact they are speaking, and their word has not been
without echo upon each part of France. If, at least, they had
not put into the ear of the world anything other than what the Church
leaves to our free discussion; but, no, as we shall see, we shall come
to understand that their words are more or less imposed upon that which
belongs to the very fundamentals of the Catholic faith.
The Abbot Klein had said in the preface he gave to The Life of Fr. Hecker:
"His [Fr. Hecker's] unique and original work is to have shown the
profound harmonies joining the new state of the human spirit to the true
Christianity." "The American ideas that he recommended are, he knew, those which GOD wanted all civilized people of our time to be at home with ..."
"The times are solemn," Msgr. Ireland had said, in
his discourse, The Church and the Age. "At such an epoch of history ...
the desire to know is intense ... The ambition of the spirit,
fired up by the marvelous success in every field of human knowledge ...
The human heart lets itself go to the strangest ideals ... Something new! Such is the ordered word of humanity, and to renew all things is its firm resolution.
"The moment is opportune for men of talent and character among the children of the Church of God. Today the routine of old times is dead; today the ordinary means lead
to the decrepitude of the aged; the crisis demands something new,
something extraordinary; and it is upon this condition that the Church
shall record the greatest of victories in the greatest of historical
ages" (Discourse given in the Cathedral of Baltimore, October
18, 1893, on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Episcopal
consecration of Cardinal Gibbons.) (Monsignor Henri Delassus, Americanism and the Anti-Christian Conspiracy, available from Catholic Action Resource Center, pp. 9-10.)
These beliefs are firmly ingrained in the minds of most Catholics in the
United States of America. They believe, as I did for the first
thirty-five years of my life, that Catholicism and every single aspect
of the American founding with perfectly compatible, that it is neither
necessary or wise even to seek the conversion of the country to the true
Faith. This is what Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan believes, and it is what he expressed on Thursday, October 18, 2012, in what he called his "benediction" at the end of the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner:
God bless the memory of Al Smith!
God Bless the “uns!”
God bless the Al Smith Foundation in this Archdiocese of New York which continues his solicitude for the “uns!”
God bless all of you for helping them this evening!
God bless our two candidates!
God bless America!
Thank God for this grand evening!
Goodnight! (The Gospel of Conciliarism in the Digital Age.)
This is an "episcopal" benediction?
God bless the memory of Alfred Emanuel Smith?
Well, Alfred Emanuel Smith certainly had a dedication to serving the interests of the poor, having risen to the Governorship of the State of New York in 1918 at the age of forty-five after having dropped out of parochial school in eighth grad to help support his family after his father died in 1886. He was, however, a complete Americanist who as utterly clueless about the Faith that he is reported to have asked "What the [Hades] is an encyclical?" after he had been challenged by a Protestant attorney, Charles Marshall, why Pope Pius XI's Quas Primas, December 11, 1925, did not bind his conscience as a Catholic (see Still Cut From The Same Cloth).
God bless the "uns"?
What are the "uns"?
According to the recitation provided by Dolan, Alfred Emanuel Smith had particular concern for the unemployed, the "uninsured," the unwed mother and the unborn child, the "un-documented," the "un-healthy," the "un-fed" and the "under-educated."
Why could not Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan have said that Alfred Emanuel Smith was committed to performing the Corporal Works of Mercy as to feed the hungry and to clothe the naked and provide shelter to the homeless are three of those seven works that are to be performed by individuals in order to save their souls and by a government agency that is closest to those in need in the event of a true necessity or an emergency situation.
Moreover, though, no matter the fact that Alfred Emanuel Smith was an Americanist who believed in the lie of religious liberty and helped to promote the career of the corrupt Mayor Jimmy Walker, a protege of his from the Tammany Hall machine that controlled Democratic Party politics in the City of New York until 1961, he did respect the laws of this country, meaning that, no matter his personal concern for those who might be in this country illegally, he never considered the "un-documented" to have any rights found in the Natural Law to break a country's immigration laws as is being done by the conciliar "bishops" of the United States of America in our own day.
Nevertheless, though, this is how Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan sought to provide himself with "cover" with Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and other pro-abortion politicians on the dais, including the Catholic Governor of the State of New York, Andrew Mark Cuomo, and the Talmudist United States Senator Charles Schumer (D-New York), by tweaking the late Joseph "Cardinal" Bernardin's consistent ethic of life ("seamless garment") that was invented out of whole cloth to provide political cover for "left-leaning" Catholic voters who wanted to support the likes of Mario Matthew Cuomo, who was Governor of the State of New York, from 1983 to 1995, and the late United States Representative Geraldine Anne Ferraro-Zaccaro (D-New York). Dolan wanted to soften the "blow," so to speak, for Obama and Cuomo while at the time reminding Romney of the Bernardin corruption of Catholic social teaching.
The "under-educated"? Perhaps Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan created this category to refer to himself as he is woefully "under-educated" in the Catholic Faith, being unable to give a simple benediction that any many who considers himself to be a Successor of the Apostles administers:
V. Dominus Vobiscum. / R. Et cum spiritu tuo.
V. Sit nomen Domini benedictum. / R. Ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum
V. Adjutorium nostrum in nomine Domini. / R. Qui
fecit caelum et terram.
V. Benedicat vos omnipotens Deus, + Pater, + et
Filius, + et Spiritus Sanctus. / R. Amen
Then again, Dolan protested in his own turn at stand-up comedy at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner on Thursday evening, October 18, 2012, that he did not understand Latin when this is not the case:
By the way, just before I left this morning, Pope Benedict XVI asked me to deliver a special personal message to both candidates. Mr. President, Governor Romney, do you know what the Holy Father asked me to tell you? . . . neither do I, because he said it in Latin. (The Gospel of Conciliarism in the Digital Age.)
Just as an aside, Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan had jetted to New York from Rome, where he is participating in an alleged "synod of bishops" on the "new evangelization" (which has been scrutinized pretty well on a Society of Saint Pius X website; see The "New Evangelization") in order to preside over the jokefest at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel two days ago, bragging that he was returning to Rome immediately after the soiree on a jet that belonged to Mort Zuckerman, the pro-abortion Talmudist who owns the New York Daily News and U.S. News and World Report. I suppose that it is nice to have friends in low places.
Ah, I digress. Excuse me. You're used to it by now, of course. Right?
Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan is also "under-educated" on Governor Alfred Emanuel Smith's complete and total opposition to the "New Deal" policies of the thirty-third degree Freemason who put his name in nomination for president at the Democratic National Convention at the old Madison Square Garden in the Borough of Manhattan on June 26, 1924, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as he saw those policies to be destructive of the common temporal good an a means to pave the way to the rise of an increase in the power, size and scope of the Federal government. Smith's total opposition to Roosevelt was so complete that he endorsed the Republican Party's 1936 presidential nominee, Governor Alfred Landon of the State of Kansas. Timmy Dolan did not mention this little fact about Alfred Emanuel Smith's life, did he?
God bless "our two candidates"?
God bless the pro-abortion, pro-perversity Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and the partly pro-abortion/partly "pro-life," pro-contraception former Mormon missionary, Willard Mitt Romney, who spent thirty months of his life between 1966 and 1968 trying to take Catholics in France out of the true Faith and who is currently running advertisements boasting of his support for contraception and for the surgical assassination of children in certain "hard cases"?
No, God does not bless those who are steeped in errors and who promote and/or are indifferent to the promotion and protection of heinous moral crimes under the cover of the civil law. We have an obligation to pray for the conversion of such men as we pray fervently in reparation for our own sins that we may be converted from them once and for all.
How ironic it was, therefore, that it was Alfred Emanuel Smith IV, who is the sixty-one year-old great grandson of the late Governor Alfred Emanuel Smith, who joked about Romney's converting to the Catholic Faith during his, Smith's, turn as the jokester at the podium on the dais. I believe that Mr. Smith was trying to get a message to Romney about inviting him to convert, wrapping it in a light-hearted way. Dolan, one can see from looking at the video, smiled and rolled his eyes somewhat as he pondered the "joke," making a facial expression and nodding his head a bit as if to say to himself, "Gee, I never thought of that. Not bad."
Obviously, most conciliar "bishops" never think in terms of inviting anyone to "convert" to the true Faith, which they, of course, do not possess, as they are steeped in the ways of ecumenism and religious liberty, which means that they do not think or act as Catholics as the utter one emotionally laden inanity after another, something that Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan has done so repeatedly as has celebrated the fact that people could call God "whatever" they wanted and as he expressed his admiration for the pro-abortion, pro-perversity Anti-Defamation League of B'Nai Brith by saying that he had "long admired" its work (see To Help The Children? for a complete summary of his babbling inanities, his rambling insanities).
Consider "Cardinal" Dolan's recitation of the joys of having people from so many different false religions gathered at the Waldorf-Astoria for the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner on Thursday, October 18, 2012:
Here we are: in an atmosphere of civility and humor, hosted by a Church which claims that “joy is the infallible sign of God’s presence;” men and women; young and old; of every ethnic and racial background;
Democrats, Republicans, and Independents;
Catholics, Christians, Jews, Latter-Day Saints, people of no particular creed;
people of wealth, yes, but some folks as well who barely get by;
guests from Westchester and the Bronx; Dutchess County and Staten Island;
Grateful to be people of faith and loyal Americans;
Loving a country which considers religious liberty our first and most cherished freedom, convinced that faith is not just limited to an hour of Sabbath worship, but affects everything we do and dream;
privileged to be in the company of two honorable men, both called to the noble vocation of public service, whose love for God and country is surpassed only by their love for their own wives and children, and who, as happy as I hope they are to be here with us tonight, would rather be home with Michelle, Ann, and their families. (The Gospel of Conciliarism in the Digital Age.)
In other words, Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan was celebrating the fact that so many different types of error, including his own, had gathered together under one roof to "enjoy" themselves as, according to what he said, "joy is the infallible sign of God's presence."
Utter and complete blasphemy.
Unrepentant sinners have loads of joy in this world. Indeed, it is the case in some instances that God withdraws His graces from those he reprobates to permit them to "have a ball" and to "live it up" in this life as they are headed for a "reunion" with the compatriots with whom they have enjoyed such "good" times here on earth in a rather unpleasant eternity suffering the fires of Hell and the loss of the glory of His own Beatific Vision. Although Catholics must be joyful in the midst of carrying their crosses and accept the will of God without complaint or grumbling or murmuring, loads of people steeped have at least a superficial joy to their lives, admitting that the superficial nature of joy frequently masks a need to be reaffirmed in their ways, which is exactly what Dolan himself did when he invited the likes of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Willard Mitt Romney and others, to be named in a brief moment or two, to the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner to begin with two months ago now.
Further blasphemy was committed when he used the term "Christians" to denote the presence of those adhering to some variation of Protestantism or Orthodoxy at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner on Thursday evening, October 18, 2012. Evangelical and fundamentalist Protestants, especially those who are "nondenominational," have been permitted to steal the word "Christian" to apply it to themselves in the belief, of course, that Catholics are not Christians. How shameful for Dolan to stoop this kind of political correctness that offends the true God of Divine Revelation so greatly. Shameful.
Equally shameful was Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan's reference once again to "religious liberty," which will be explored in another article on this site as time and finances permit (that's a hint that there has been nothing at the post office office box all week long, meaning that work on this site has got to be reduced next week in order to concentrate on promoting my book), which is the very heresy that made possible the rise of the false religion of Mormonism to which Willard Mitt Romney is so committed and the election of the likes of the Communist-trained Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, who for twenty years was a bobblehead congregant of the "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois. (For articles on "Cardinal" Dolan and religious liberty, see Ominous Offenders Offending Ominously, Memo To David Axelrod And Other Social Engineers, John Carroll's Caesar, Victims of Compromise, Taking A Figure Of Antichrist At His Worthless Words, Prisoners Of Their Own Apostasy, Timothy Dolan, Meet Timothy Dolan (And Friends), Still Celebrating Half A Century Of Apostasy, Candidate For Man Of The Year?, From John Carroll To James Gibbons To Timothy Dolan, To Help The Children and Fake, Phony, Sanctimonious Fraud, noting also Happy As A Stuffed Clam With Himself and Impossible To Fight Moral Evils With Blasphemy And Error.)
Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan also thanked "God for this grand evening" before he said "Goodnight" to the audience and then left to return to Rome by means of Mort Zuckerman's jet.
Well, Willard Mitt Romney and Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro both took their turns at stand-up comedy. Romney, in my view, having watched the video of the thirty-nine minutes that it took for this exercise of naturalism to exhaust itself after we had returned from a four hundred mile round-trip drive to have Sharon examined by a dermatologist, who froze some skin lesions that were not cancerous (Deo gratias!), was the better at being the Johnny Carson of the evening (sorry, I don't know from Jay Leno or David Letterman or any of those other so-called comedians). Obama/Soetoro had a few good lines. Both men, though, read what was written for them by others (although one could tell from the reactions that Mrs. Ann Romney has absolutely no use for the caesar as her contempt for him is really hard to mask, something for which it would be very hard to fault her at all).
Sure, it was a "grand evening" in terms of the "joy" of naturalism and the celebration of one error after another at an event that should never have featured Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro or Willard Mitt Romney. It was not a "grand time" in the eyes of God, however, Who was mocked by the blaspheming "cardinal" "archbishop" of New York's Americanist celebration and promotion of error as the foundation of true "joy," authentic patriotism and social order.
Perhaps the greatest offense of the entire evening, however, over and above all of the other offenses for which time does not permit a more elaborate recitation, was the fact that the pro-abortion, pro-perversity Governor of the State of New York, Andrew Mark Cuomo, who promoted and then signed the so-called "gay marriage" law passed by the New York State Legislature last year, was permitted to attend, taking an honored seat next to the "archbishop emeritus" of New York, Edward "Cardinal" Egan, while he, a divorced man without even the fig leaf of a conciliar decree of nullity, was permitted to bring his concubine, Sandra Lee, who sat to his left and was clearly visible in her completely immodest attire to the right of every speaker shown during the thirty-nine minute video. Take a look for yourselves:
I was so tired after the day of driving that the identity of the scantily clad woman did not really dawn on me until yesterday afternoon, at which point I asked our friend Mrs. Joanne McOsker (who was the very heart and soul of Catholic pro-life activity in the State of Rhode Island for four decades before becoming ostracized and mocked by relatives and friends once she came to recognize the true state of the Church Militant in this time of apostasy and betrayal), who has a cooking show of her own on public access cable television in Providence, Rhode Island, to confirm that it was indeed Cuomo's paramour, Sandra Lee. (For a little review of how Cuomo the Younger has been enabled by the conciliar "bishop" of Albany, New York, for the past thirty-five years now, Howard Hubbard, please see Memo To Howard Hubbard: Public Scandal Is Never A Private Matter.)
This is truly a greater scandal than almost anything else that occurred at the 2012 Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in the City of New York as it demonstrates yet again that conciliar revolutionaries such as Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan and Edward "Cardinal" Egan are bereft of the sensus Catholicus. These men have no sense of the horror of personal sin or of their duty to those steeped unrepentantly in it. These men have no love of God, no understanding of how His Co-Eternal and Co-Equal Son, Who was made Man in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, suffered in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death, no understanding of how Our Lady herself suffered as a result of our sins as those Seven Swords of Sorrow pierced her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart through and through.
How can Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Willard Mitt Romney--or the pro-aborts Henry A. Kissinger (see Foggy Bottom's Bloody Tradition) or Mayor of the City of New York Michael Rubens Bloomberg (see Killing Us With Their Concern and No Pot O'Gold At The End Of This Rainbow), both of whom were on the dais and introduced to applause by Alfred Emanuel Smith IV on Thursday evening, October 18, 2012--be blamed for believing in the errors that they do when men who pose, albeit falsely, as Princes of the Catholic Church celebrate their errors with such ready abandon and when they look the other way as "their own" live openly and scandalously in sin and promote it in society under cover of the civil law as Andrew Mark Cuomo has done and continues to do so flagrantly?
This is quite a contrast with the example set by Patrick Joseph Cardinal Hayes, the Archbishop of New York from September 10, 1919, to the time of his death at the age of seventy on September 4, 1938, who was a fierce opponent of Margaret Sanger and her Birth Control League and who denounced the open immorality of the adulterous drunk and bribe-taking Mayor of the City of New York, New York, from January 1, 1926, to September 1, 1932, James John "Jimmy" Walker. The courageous example set by Cardinal Hayes is thus mocked by how the conciliarists cater to those living publicly scandalous lives and those who openly promote Margaret Sanger's own diabolical, anti-life, anti-family, anti-Theistic agenda that has destroyed the integrity of the family and thus helped to corrupt generations upon generations of Americans as social problems proliferated to such an extent that it was said to be necessary for "government" to resolve the problems caused in the first place by the open toleration and acceptance of Sanger's views.
How can Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Willard Mitt Romney believe that the direct, intentional killing of any innocent human life is all that important when a sixty-seven year-old Catholic, a graduate of Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, by the name of Christopher Matthews, is permitted to be present on the dais of the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner on Thursday evening. October 18, 2012, despite his open support for the chemical and surgical assassination of children an the fact that it was just within the past week that Romney and his partly pro-life/pro-abortion Catholic running mate, United States Representative Paul Davis Ryan (R-Wisconsin), wanted to govern according to a Republican Party platform on abortion that he compared with Mohammedans seeking to establish and enforce "Sharia Law" in Egypt and elsewhere in the countries of the so-called "Arab Spring" of 2011 (see MSNBC's Matthews likens Romney-Ryan abortion platform to Sharia Law)?
How can it be that the likes of Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan cannot speak about the direct, intentional taking of innocent human life under cover of the civil law as had Pope Pius XI in Casti Connubii, December 31, 1930?
Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it
is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to
defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those
whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among
whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's
womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by
their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors
or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of
innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven. (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 31, 1930.)
As it is nearly two o'clock in the morning on Saturday, October 20, 2012, the Feast of Saint John Cantius, perhaps I can answer my own rhetorical questions for you rather simply.
How can this all be?
Well, a fish rots from the head. The conciliar "popes" have been figures of Antichrist, men intent on reinventing the Faith and substituting in its place a synthetic one that has its own "new theology, "new liturgy," "new pastoral praxis," new music, new architecture, "new saints," new devotions and, perhaps most importantly of all, its own "new language" that is used to mask scandal with such soothing words as "dialogue" and "conversation" and "tolerance" and "compassion."
After all, it is kind of hard to expect Timmy Dolan, who is as deep in the well of Americanism as any of his predecessors, including Egan himself (see Nothing but an American Right), to speak and act differently than his "pope," Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, who has personally esteemed the symbols of false religions with his own priestly hands and called temples of false worship "sacred" even though they are places where the only one who is adored is the devil himself. It is that simple.
Catholicism is the one and only foundation of
personal and social order, making it necessary yet again to turn to
these words of Pope Saint Pius X, contained in Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910:
Here we have, founded by Catholics, an
inter-denominational association that is to work for the reform of
civilization, an undertaking which is above all religious in character; for
there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true
moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a
historical fact. (Pope Pius XI, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)
A generic attachment to
"religion" is of the essence of Judeo-Masonry, not Catholicism, and it is as a Freemason that Timothy Michael "Cardinal" Dolan spoke and "prayed" on Thursday evening, October 18, 2012, at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner in New York City.
What is "good enough" for the lords of conciliarism, including Joseph
Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and Timmy Dolan, makes relevant
once again this warning about Masonry and its ethos given us by Pope Leo
XIII in Custodi Di Quella Fede, December 8, 1892:
Everyone should avoid familiarity or friendship
with anyone suspected of belonging to masonry or to affiliated groups.
Know them by their fruits and avoid them. Every familiarity
should be avoided, not only with those impious libertines who openly
promote the character of the sect, but also with those who hide under
the mask of universal tolerance, respect for all religions, and the
craving to reconcile the maxims of the Gospel with those of the
revolution. These men seek to reconcile Christ and Belial, the Church of
God and the state without God. (Pope Leo XIII, Custodi Di Quella Fede, December 8, 1892.)
Far from listening to the sinner in order to "understand" him and to engage in a "dialogue" with him, Our Lord taught sinners to convert and he condemned those who were steadfast and proud in their sins:
Wherefore you are witnesses against yourselves, that you are the sons of them that killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. You serpents, generation of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of hell? Therefore behold I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and
some of them you will put to death and crucify, and some you will
scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city: That upon you may come all the just blood that hath been shed upon the earth, from the blood
of Abel the just, even unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias,
whom you killed between the temple and the altar.
Amen I say to you, all these things shall come upon this generation. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them
that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered together thy
children, as the hen doth gather her chickens under her wings, and thou
wouldest not? Behold, your house shall be left to you, desolate. For I say to you, you shall not see me henceforth till you say: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. (Matthew 23: 33-39.)
The "gospel" according to Timothy Michael Dolan's "whatever" exegesis is false. It is false to its rotten core. It is simply a regurgitation of mainstream Protestantism's reinvention and misrepresentation of the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity made Man by the power of God the Holy Ghost in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of His Most Blessed Mother as "mushy, gushy" sentimentalist. He was nothing of the sort.
Indeed, Pope Saint Pius X described the true character of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as follows when condemning the heretical Sillonist view of Him that is at the very heart and soul and foundation of the "Second" Vatican Council and the "magisterium" of the conciliar popes:
Further, whilst Jesus was kind to sinners and to those who went
astray, He did not respect their false ideas, however sincere they might
have appeared. He loved them all, but He instructed them in order to
convert them and save them. Whilst He called to Himself in order to
comfort them, those who toiled and suffered, it was not to preach to
them the jealousy of a chimerical equality. Whilst He lifted up
the lowly, it was not to instill in them the sentiment of a dignity
independent from, and rebellious against, the duty of obedience. Whilst
His heart overflowed with gentleness for the souls of good-will, He
could also arm Himself with holy indignation against the profaners of
the House of God, against the wretched men who scandalized the little
ones, against the authorities who crush the people with the weight of
heavy burdens without putting out a hand to lift them. He was as strong
as he was gentle. He reproved, threatened, chastised, knowing, and
teaching us that fear is the beginning of wisdom, and that it is
sometimes proper for a man to cut off an offending limb to save his body.
Finally, He did not announce for future society the reign of an ideal
happiness from which suffering would be banished; but, by His lessons
and by His example, He traced the path of the happiness which is
possible on earth and of the perfect happiness in heaven: the royal way
of the Cross. These are teachings that it would be wrong to
apply only to one's personal life in order to win eternal salvation;
these are eminently social teachings, and they show in Our Lord Jesus
Christ something quite different from an inconsistent and impotent
humanitarianism. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)
