Preparing for Lenten Penances

Today is Septuagesima Sunday. Lent begins in but seventeen days. Easter is exactly nine weeks way. It is time to start our preparations for Lent, time to start thinking about the penances we are going to undertake starting on Ash Wednesday in order to make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world as we prepare to enter deep into the mysteries of the Paschal Triduum of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The purple vestments representing a penitential season of Holy Mother Church make their reappearance today to remind us that we must be deadly serious about the business of making the best Lent of our lives as we do not know whether this Lent will be our last one on the face of this earth--or whether we will even live to see the end of this particular Lent! Let us use this time well as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

Lacking unlimited high-speed internet service, I am totally dependent upon the availability of an internet connection to conduct research for my articles and then to post them. This is why this republished reflection on Septuagesima Sunday is being posted so late in the day. A revised reflection on the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary should be posted by tomorrow morning, February 2, 2015. Thank you for your patience.

Symbiotic Figures of Antichrist

The reigning caesar sent Gina McCarthy, the administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, to use Jorge Mario Bergoglio's forthcoming "encyclical letter" on global climate change as a prop to "get action going," meaning to impose more and more regulations upon ordinary citizens to "save" the planet while working overtime to promote evils under the cover of the civil law that ruin souls for all eternity. Ah, Jorge is pretty much in the same business of offending God and causing havoc with the remnants of even a corrupted version of Catholic doctrine in his false religious sect as his counterparts in the world of Modernity. What business is that? The symbiotic business of pantheism.

Today is Septuagesima Sunday and the Commemoration of Saint Ignatius of Antioch (and the Commemoration of Saint Brigid of Kildare in some places). A republished reflection will be posted later on today, Sunday, February 1, 2015.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Zealous for Souls Until the Very End

Commemoration of Saint Ignatius of Antioch and, at least in some places, the commemoration of Saint Brigid of Kildare), the Mass today in those venues that follow the unreformed calendar of Pope Saint Pius X is that of the Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemoration of Saint John Bosco. Venues that follow the calendar in place upon the death of Pope Pius XII on October 9, 1958, celebrate the Feast of Saint John Bosco.

One way or the other, however, today, January 31, 2015, is the one hundred twenty-seventh anniversary of Saint John Bosco’s death. This great father and teacher of young, who always such compassion for the poor and the suffering, holds a very special place in our own family. We pray a nightly Novena to Saint John Bosco, remembering the intentions of each of those who support this site now as well as many of those who did so at one time.

Today’s article is a brief reflection on the life of this remarkable saint, visionary, miracle-worker and indefatigable teacher, a priest who could read souls and, if he had to so, bribe sinners to go to Confession.

Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us.

Saint John Bosco, pray for us.

is a revised and expanded version of an older article about the late Father Richard Peter McBrien, who died on Sunday, January 25, 2015, the Third Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemoration of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle. The nature of the current platform on which this site exists is such, however, that articles are listed according to the order in which their first draft is saved, not according to when they are published, which is why this brief update notice is being placed. The link to the article can be found above and below the commentary published yesterday, .

Mutilating All Truth

The hour is late/early.

Suffice it for the moment to state that this commentary deals with the “private” meeting that Jorge Mario Bergoglio had on Saturday, January 24, 2015, the Feast of Saint Timothy, with a gender-mutilated woman, who believes herself to be a “man,” and her “fiancée,” a woman! Got all that?

This commentary is relatively short. However, it does contain a lot of information, including a 2003 “doctrinal note” issued by the conciliar Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, headed at the time by Joseph “Cardinal” Ratzinger, forbade any recognition be accorded surgical procedures that are used in an effort to “change” the gender that God has given to a particular person. Yes, there are times when there is a bit of space between Ratzinger and Bergoglio. In this instance, though, there is no space between Bergoglio and one of his chief nemeses in the conciliar structures, Raymond Leo “Cardinal” Burke.

Word reached me shortly after Midnight of the death of Mrs. Rose Marie Condit, the matriarch of the famous Condit family of Cincinnati, Ohio, and environs. Mrs. Condit died on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the age of eighty-four.

Mrs. Condit, who was married to the eminent Catholic attorney, Mr. James Condit, Sr., one of the most charitable Catholics one will ever meet, and had eleven children, sixty-one grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. That is quite a legacy.

On behalf of Sharon and Lucy, I want to express by deepest and most heartfelt condolences to a man I have been privileged to know since 1994, Jim Condit, Sr., and his entire family as we assure them of our prayers for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Rose Marie Condit and for them all in this time of sorrow. Please join us in pray for the repose of Mrs. Condit’s immortal soul and for the needs of her family at this time. She was a remarkable witness to the Catholic Faith.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Death of An Apostate and Blasphemer

As noted a few days ago, Father Richard P. McBrien, a priest in good standing with the conciliar authorities in the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut, has died at the age of seventy-eight.

Model of Conversion: Saint Paul

The Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle was commemorated yesterday, Sunday, January 25, 2015, the Third Sunday after the Epiphany. Suffice it to say that Jorge Mario Bergoglio would be reprimanding Christ the King for seeking the conversion of a faithful Jewish persecutor of Catholics, Saul of Tarsus, rather than engaging in a “dialogue” to “discover” what he believed.

A link is provided above in the text of today’s commentary to a rather extensive review, published on August 11, 2008, of the apostate career of the then sixty-two year-old Father Richard P. McBrien, who died yesterday, January 25, 2015, just twenty-four days after the death of the man he had invited to discourse at the University of Notre Dame in favor of the surgical execution of children as a legally protect “right” that Catholics should not seek to overturn, Mario Matthew Cuomo. McBrien even ran afoul of the “National Conference of Catholic Bishops,” something that is far hard to do so, because of his egregious book, “Catholicism.”

Father McBrien, who supported women's "ordination" to the conciliar "priesthood," caused great scandal when he provided theological cover to pro-abort politicians on a telecast of the American Broadcasting Company's Nightline program on May 15, 1989, following the telecast of the made-for-television motion picture Roe v. Wade. McBrien’s horrific remarks scandalized a Protestant "minister” who appeared on the program with him. The “minister” said the following to (and this is a paraphrase):

"Father, and I will call you that because that is your title, I don't think that Jesus is going to say to all of those politicians who support the killing of babies "well done, good and faithful servant" when they stand before Him next to a pile of dead babies as they are being judged by Him."
Little hope can be held out for this reprobate, who died publicly unrepentant of his support for heresy and evil.
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.

Saint Polycarp, pray for us.

Hey, Lady, You Can't Do That!

Although I have some unfinished business to attend to on this site, including dealing with Jorge Mario Bergoglio's belief that wars can never be fought in the name of God and completing part two of

In the Face of the Daily Slaughter of the Innocent Preborn

Today’s article, prepared to commemorate the forty-second anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, contains an excerpt from an allocution given by Pope Pius XII that reminded Catholics they are never to support a single, solitary exception to the inviolability of innocent human life. Within the allocution is a moving story about a mother who sacrificed her own life in 1905 rather than to kill the child in her womb. The mother’s prayers from eternity won the daughter to whom she gave life shortly before she, the mother, died to the religious life. This is the sort of sacrifice that is foreign to the mind of Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

We pray in reparation today for the ongoing chemical and surgical slaughter of the preborn in the United States of America and around the world.

We pray for the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King and of Our Lady, Immaculate Queen, as the fruit of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary that is, as noted yesterday, so reviled by so many revolutionaries in the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.

Saints Vincent and Anastasius, pray for us.

EL DIABÓLICO NUEVO ORDEN MUNDIAL DESPRECIA EL CORAZÓN INMACULADO DE MARÍA

Although I am working on a commentary for the forty-second anniversary of the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, time has been taken to format “Reviling the Immaculate Heart of Mary” for publication on this site in an Spanish language translation that was completed by Mr. Juan Carlos Araneta. It was Mr. Araneta who was good enough to translate the report about the continued Vatican persecution of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate that appeared in Spanish on Miles Christi before it was posted on Catolicos Alerta.

It appears that the information provided in the Miles Christi report is to be found nowhere else in the English language. Thanks to Mr. Araneta, Spanish-language readers of this site can now share my own commentary on the Miles Christi report with others. Please remember this good soldier of Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen in your prayers.
