In the Direct Grip of the Adversary

To the Precipice and Over the Cliff of Nihilism and Self-Annihilation was published yesterday morning as a general study about the rise, spread, and institutionalization of widespread random violence. There was, of course, no way of knowing that the study would have relevance to yet another tragedy so soon after its publication. However, Robert [Robin] Westman’s depraved act of deliberately of targeting Catholic school children at a purported offering of Holy Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, makes yesterday’s study more than something theoretical as today’s tragedy is yet another reminder of what happens when the souls of men are held captive to the devil by means of Original Sin or, as it would appear in the case of Robert Westman, Mortal Sin, if not actual diabolical possession itself:

The deranged gunman who slaughtered two children and injured at least 17 others who were attending morning Mass at a Catholic school in Minneapolis has been identified — as a disturbing video believed to have been posted by the shooter shows “kill Donald Trump” and “for the children” scrawled on gun magazines.

Robin Westman, formerly Robert Westman, opened fire through the stained glass windows of Annunciation Catholic Church during a celebratory back-to-school Mass filled with children around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sources confirmed that Westman, 23, posted a twisted 20-minute YouTube video hours before the shooting, in which he flips through a disturbing handwritten journal.

In the deranged writings, he gleefully fantasizes about “being that scary horrible monster standing over those powerless kids” and reverently confesses admiration for the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre.

In the video, titled “So long and thanks for all the fish,” Westman slowly turns the pages of the red notebook, which is laid out on top of what appears to be schematic gun diagrams, one of them reading “Ruger Mark IV.”

As he flips the pages, an occasional plume of smoke is seen from the bottom of the screen, punctuated by coughs, disjointed cursing and maniacal giggles.

Each page is filled with inscrutable handwritten doggerel, much of it in Cyrillic, which includes violent ramblings such as “I have had thoughts about mass murder for a long time. I am very conflicted with writing this journal,” the text, translated by The Post, reads in part.

“I need to get my thoughts out without getting on a watchlist haha!”

He also goes into great detail about his decision to target Annunciation, where his mother, Mary Grace Westman, worked until her 2021 retirement, according to a Facebook post by the church.

“I am feeling good about annunciation. It seems like a good combo of easy attack form and devastating tragedy and I want to do more research. I have concerns about finding a large enough group. I want to avoid any parents, but pre and post school drop off,” another page reads.

“Maybe I could attack an event at the on-site church,” he ominously scribbled. “I think attacking a large group of kids coming in from recess is my best plan … Then from there I can go inside and kill, going for as long as I can.”

The unhinged gunman also expressed deep admiration for mass shooters — including Sandy Hook killer Adam Lanza.

“I have a deep fascination with one man in particular: Adam Lanza,” he wrote in the journal on May 23 in reference to the 20-year-old perpetrator of the worst elementary school shooting in US history, which left 20 first-grade students and six adults dead.

“Sandy Hook was my favorite, I think, exposure of school shootings.”

Another video posted to YouTube in the hours before the massacre showed off a cache of weapons — including a semi-automatic rifle and a shotgun.

Magazines were scrawled with “for the children” and “kill Donald Trump.”

Westman applied to change his birth name from Robert to Robin in Dakota County when he was 17 years old, according to court documents obtained by KTTC. That name change was granted in January 2020.

It is unclear why he wanted to legally change his name.

Westman, who died at the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, was armed with a rifle, a shotgun and a handgun.

The shooter was not previously known to law enforcement, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told reporters at a press conference. (Exclusive | Minneapolis Catholic school gunman ID'd as Robin Westman— while possible manifesto shows psychotic obsession with mass shooters.)

Well, it has become clearer why Robert Westman identified as “Robin” Westman, with the consent of his own Catholic mother, Mary Grace Westman, as he considered himself be “transgendered,” yet again demonstrating the wickedly wretched consequences of the spread the homosexual collectives’s aggressive advance of ever broadening definitions of what constitutes a concept of “gender identify” that is at war with God in both the Order of Creation (Nature) and the Order of Redemption (Grace):

The perpetrator of a Wednesday attack on a church and school in Minneapolis that left at least 2 children dead and 17 others injured was a biological man who identified as a woman and attacked his mother's former workplace, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Robin Westman—born Robert Westman—opened fire at the Annunciation Catholic Church school, spraying bullets through the sanctuary’s stained glass windows, before taking his own life after the shooting, Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara told reporters during a press conference on Wednesday. His mother filed an application to change his name when he was 17 years old, according to court records obtained by the Free Beacon, which state the shooter requested the name change because he identified as female.

Mary Grace Westman worked at Annunciation Catholic Church as an administrative assistant before retiring in 2021.

FBI director Kash Patel issued a statement Wednesday afternoon in which he said the bureau "is investigating this shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics."

In a series of since-removed YouTube videos uploaded to Westman’s account, the shooter appeared to revel in the forthcoming act of violence and laughed maniacally.

"This message brought to you by BlackRock and Exxon-Mobil," Westman, 23, said while holding several bullets. "I am sorry to my family, but that’s the only people I am sorry to. F—k those kids."

Westman's video showed several threatening messages against Trump on his guns, including "kill Donald Trump" and "kill Trump now."

Westman also showed a suicide note in a video in which the shooter appeared to understand the gravity of Wednesday’s violence.

"I know this is wrong but I can’t seem to stop myself," Westman wrote. "I am severely depressed and have been suicidal for years. Only recently have I lost all hope and decided to perform my final action against this world."

Westman also discussed his belief that he was suffering from cancer.

"I think I am dying of cancer," the note continued. "It’s a tragic end, as it’s entirely self-inflicted. I did this to myself as I cannot control myself and have been destroying my body through vaping and other means." “Gender confusion” has been advanced by the high priests and priestesses of the so-called “popular culture” and also, truth be told, not only within the American’s concentration camps (public centers of indoctrination and misinformation called schools) as well by many so-called Catholic schools, colleges, and universities during this time of their conciliar captivity, including in some places within the Archdiocese of Minneapolis, most especially the notorious Saint Joan of Arc Church there:

Joan of Arc is one of the largest congregations in Minneapolis with over 3,000 household members representing more than 200 zip codes. Some drive long distances every Sunday to experience the uplifting, joyful celebration that takes place there. In addition to masses, St. Joan’s offers a wide variety of services, programs and events in response to community needs. Are you interested in gardening? Would you like to hear speakers on current topics? Maybe join a youth trivia event? Join the LGBT+ book club? Attend a family oriented party? Get away on a retreat? Join a musical group? Find support in a grief group? St Joan’s offers these and many other options.

The 1947 midnight mass was the first service held in the church at 4537 3rd Ave. S. Minneapolis. Later the school and gymnasium were added. In 1968 Father Harvey Egan closed the school and transformed the gym into a non-traditional space for mass, welcoming ALL and bringing in outside speakers for homilies (sermons) including Gloria Steinem (1978)! This was a turning point for St. Joan’s, bringing them into a more modern world, with an expanded mission.
Today, with priests Father James DeBruycker and Father James Cassidy, St. Joan’s is committed to social justice, youth, families and community. They are involved in numerous ministries working with mental health, peace and justice matters, family and children, youth ministry, adult learning, parish life and pastoral care. The ministries often work in conjunction with other churches and groups such as 12-step groups, Women Against Military Madness (WAMM), Feed My Starving Children, grief coalitions and organizations working with immigrants.

St. Joan’s has a rich musical tradition with George Maurer as current Music Director and Mary Brussman as Choir Director. Together they bring an abundance of talent and joy to the congregation. “Our goal is to bring together the elements of worship, word, ritual and prayer.” Maurer and the musicians of St. Joan’s cover a wide range of styles; folk, jazz, blues and more. You may hear a traditional folk song calling for peace, a favorite Beatles tune or a traditional hymn made new again. Maurer has shared the stage with high profile musicians such as Eric Clapton and Bruno Mars. Keyboard musician Tommy Barbarella worked with Prince (from 1991-1996) and the New Power Generation on their “Breakout” album. It’s been said that the nontraditional Sunday worship services (9 a.m. and 11_a.m. in the gym) raise the roof! The traditional mass takes place Sundays at 7:45 a.m. In addition to the adult choir there is a children’s choir and a concert series where the music of such artists as Patsy Cline and the Eagles are honored (stjoantickes.com) From June 19-22 St. Joan’s will present the musical Godspell (Tkts. $20, children, $10.00) (Sparks fly at DFL Ward Conventions Sparks fly at DFL Ward Conventions.)

The confusion that took possession of the late Robert Westman’s soul that inspired him to target innocent children at what was thought to be an offering of Holy Mass has no simple explanation, although I will state again what I have stated before on this website: to believe that there is more than one gender or that one is a gender other than the one God has given him is mark of insanity, an no amount of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mayor Jacob Frey's saying othewise can make such insanity either real or really virtuous.

However, it is an absolute fact that such that such confusion did not exist sixty or seven years ago before perverted ideologues captured control of much of the public education curriculum as well as that within a lot, although certainly not all, formerly Catholic schools that have been under the control of the conciliar revolutionaries for at least sixty years, and those “Catholic” schools, parishes, colleges, universities, seminaries, or “theological update”/adult “education” programs that foster the agenda of the homosexual collective have committed acts of violence against the souls entrusted to their care as their officials defy the plain words of Sacred Scripture and the precepts of the Natural Law that are knowable by reason alone to reaffirm themselves in their own lives of perdition and to replicate themselves in the minds, hearts, and souls of the young by means of a propagandizing that comes from hell and leads all those in its grip to the depths of the fiery abode for all eternity.

It is also true that men, including baptized Catholics themselves, are more prone these days to fall into the direct control of the adversary because there is the wellsprings of a superabundance of Sanctifying and Actual Graces have dried up as part of the wicked fruit of the sacramentally barren and liturgically invalid Protestant and Judeo-Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical abomination. As noted in yesterday’s study, men can back into the abyss of barbarism that had been eradicated by the Catholic missionaries of Europe in the First Millennium and by those of the Americas in the Second Millennium without ready access to and fervent cooperation with Sanctifying Grace.

As has been noted in the past on this website, every true offering of Holy Mass adds glory to God and grace to the world and, as this is the case, it is a small “t” tradition of the Church that the world will end when the last true priest dies or is killed and thus is unable to add Actual Grace, which is what sustains the world even in its physical existence.

None of this, of course, is meant to detract from the terrible tragedy of that has befallen the families of the two children murdered so wantonly by Robert Westman as well as fourteen injured children, three injured adults and the entire parish and school family of Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We must pray fervently for the souls of the two children who were killed, for the recovery of the wounded, the consolation of everyone involved while also recognizing that no one can be safe in a world that has rejected the Social Reign of Christ the King and, as a consequence, has targeted innocent children in the womb for assassination by chemical and surgical means.

We should also pray that the children who survived this massacre will be taught to use the loss of two of their schoolmates and the injuries sustained by fourteen others as the opportunity to recognize the fact that they must always strive to be in a state of Sanctifying Graces so that they can be ready to face Christ the King at the moment of their own deaths, whenever those shall occur, and to ever reliant upon Our Lady's graces to grow in sanctification with every beat of their hearts, consecrated as they should be to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. These children do not need naturalistic "grief therapy." They need to taught to love the Holy Cross. They need to learn about Catholicism and to understand that nothing happens without the graces sent to us by Our Lord through His Blessed Mother's loving hands that is beyond ouc capacity to bear and then offer back unto Him with love and gratitude.

Pray to Our Lady, especially through her Most Holy Rosary, for the souls of the children killed, the full and speedy recovered of the wounded, and for the consolation of all who been afflicted by the wicked actions of Robert Westman, who has probably price of the loss of the salvation of his own immortal by deliberate targeting the innocent for execution and by and his own act of self-annihilation.

May Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ have mercy on us all.

From Dom Prosper Gueranger's The Liturgical Year

On the Feast of Saint Joseph Calasanctius

To thee is the poor man left: thou wilt be a helper to the orphan. Proud Venice has already seen these words realized in her noble son Jerome Æmilian: today they indicate the sanctity of another illustrious person, descended from the first princes of Navarre, but of still higher rank in the kingdom of charity.

God, who waters the trees of the field as well as the cedars of Libanus, because it is he that planted them all, takes care also of the little birds that do not gather into barns: will he then forget the child, who is of much more value than the birds of the air? Or will he give him corporal nourishment, and neglect the soul hungering for the bread of the knowledge of salvation, which strengthens the heart of man? In the 16th century one might have been tempted to think our heavenly Father’s granaries were empty. True, the Holy Spirit soon raised up new Saints; but the reviving charity was insufficient for the number of destitute; how many poor children, especially, were without schools, deprived of the most elementary education which is indispensable to the fulfillment of their obligations and to their nobility as children of God: and there was no one to break to them the bread of knowledge!

More fortunate than so many other countries overrun with heresy, Spain was at her apogee, enjoying the hundredfold promised to those who seek first the kingdom of God. She seemed to have become our Lord’s inexhaustible resource. A little while ago she had given Ignatius Loyola to the world; she had just enriched heaven by the precious death of Teresa of Avila, when the Holy Ghost drew once more from her abundance to add to the riches of the capital of the Christian world, and to supply the wants of the little ones in God’s Church.

The descendant of the Calassanz of Petralta de la Sal was already the admired Apostle of Aragon, Catalonia and Castile, when he heard a mysterious voice speaking to his soul: “Go to Rome; go forth from the land of thy birth; soon shall appear to thee, in her heavenly beauty, the companion destined for thee, holy poverty, who now calls thee to taste of her austere delights; go, without knowing whither I am leading thee; I will make thee the father of an immense family; I will show thee all that thou must suffer for my name’s sake.”

Forty years of blind fidelity, in unconscious sanctity had prepared the elect of heaven for his sublime vocation. “What can be greater,” asks St. John Chrysostom, “than to direct the souls and form the characters of children? Indeed I consider him greater than any painter or sculptor, who knows how to fashion the souls of the young.” Joseph understood the dignity of his mission: during the remaining fifty-two years of his life, he, according to the recommendations of the holy Doctor, considered nothing mean or despicable in the service of the little ones; nothing cost him dear if only it enabled him, by the teaching of letters, to infuse into the innumerable children who came to him, the fear of the Lord. From St. Pantaleon, his residence, the Pious Schools soon covered the whole of Italy, spread into Sicily and Spain, and were eagerly sought by kings and people in Moravia, Bohemia, Poland, and the northern countries.

Eternal Wisdom associated Calasanctius to her own work of salvation on earth. She rewarded him for his labors as she generally does her privileged for his labors as she generally does her privileged ones, by giving him a strong conflict, that he might overcome, and know that wisdom is mightier than all. It is a conflict like that of Jacob at the ford of Jaboc which represents the last obstacle to the entrance into the promised land, when all the pleasures and goods of the world have been sent on before by absolute renouncement; it is a conflict by night, wherein nature fails and becomes lame; but it is followed by the rising of the sun, and sets the combatant at the entrance of eternal day; it is a conflict with God hand to hand, under the appearance, it is true, of a man or of an angel; but it matters little under what form God chooses to hide himself, provided it takes nothing from his sovereign dominion. Why dost thou ask my name? said the wrestler to Jacob; thine shall be henceforth Israel, strong against God.

Our readers may consult the historians of St. Joseph Calasanctius for the details of the trials which made him a prodigy of fortitude, as the church calls him. Through the calumnies of false brethren the saint was deposed, and the Order reduced to the condition of a secular congregation. It was not until after his death that it was re-established, first by Alexander VII and then by Clement IX as a Regular Order with solemn vows. In his great work on the Canonization of Saints, Benedict XIV speaks at length on this subject, delighting in the part he had taken in the process of the servant of God, first as consistorial advocate, then as promoter of the faith, and lastly as Cardinal giving his vote in favor of the cause. We shall see in the lessons that it was he also that beatified him. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, The Liturgical Year, Feast of Saint Joseph Calasanctius, August 27.)

Joseph Calasanctius of the Mother of God was born of a noble family at Petralta in Aragon, and from his earliest years gave signs of his future love for children and their education. For, when still a little child, he would gather other children round him and would teach them the mysteries of faith and holy prayer. After having received a good education in the liberal arts and divinity, he went through his theological studies at Valencia. Here he courageously overcame the seductions of a noble and powerful lady, and by a remakable victory preserved unspotted his virginity which he had already vowed to God. He became a priest in fulfillment of a vow; and several bishops of New Castile, Aragon and Catalonia availed themselves of his assistance. He surpassed all their expectations, corrected evil living throughout the kingdom, restored ecclesiastical discipline, and was marvelously successful in putting an end to enmities and bloody factions. But urged by a heavenly vision, and after having been several times called by God, he went to Rome.

Here he led a life of great austerity; fasting and watching, spending whole days and nights in heavenly contemplation, and visiting the seven basilicas of the City almost every night. This last custom he observed for many years. He enrolled himself in pious associations, and with wonderful charity devoted himself to aiding and consoling the poor with alms and other works of mercy, especially those who were sick or imprisoned. When the plague was raging in Rome, he joined St. Camillus, and not content in his ardent zeal, with bestowing lavish care upon the sick poor, he even carried the dead to the grave on his own shoulders. But having been divinely admonished that he was called to educate children, especially those of the poor, in piety and learning, he founded the Order of the Poor Regular Clerks of the Mother of God of the Pious Schools, who are specially destined to devote themselves to the instruction of youth. This Order was highly approved by Clement VIII, Paul V, and others of the Roman Pontiffs, and in a wonderfully short space of time it spread through many of the kingdoms of Europe. But in this undertaking Joseph had to undergo many sufferings and labors, and he endured them all with so much constancy, that every one proclaimed him a miracle of patience and another Job.

Though burdened with the government of the whole Order, he nevertheless devoted himself to saving souls, and moreover never gave over teaching children, especially those of the poorer class. He would sweet their schools and take them to their homes himself. For fifty-two years he persevered in this work, though it called upo nhim to practice the greatest patience and humility, and although he suffered from weak health. God rewarded him by honoring him with many miracles in the presence of his disciples; and the Blessed Virgin appeared to him with the Infant Jesus, who blessed his children while they were praying. He refused the highest dignities, but he was made illustrious by the gifts of prophecy, of reading the secrets of hearts, and of knowing what was going on in his absence. He was favored with frequent apparitions of the citizens of heaven, particularly of the Virgin Mother of God, whom he had loved and honored most especially from his infancy, and whose cultus he had most strongly recommended to his disciples. He foretold the day of his death and the restoration and propagation of his Order, which was then almost destroyed; and in his ninety-second year he fell asleep in our Lord at Rome, on the 8th of the Calends of September, in the year 1648. A century later, his heart and tongue were found whole and incorrupt. God honored him by many miracles after his death. Benedict XIV granted him the honors of the Blessed, and Clement XIII solemnly enrolled him among the saints. (Matins, The Divine Office, Feast of Saint Joseph Calasanctius, August 27.)

The Lord hath heard the desire of the poor, by making thee the depositary of his love, and putting on thy lips the words he himself was the first to utter: Suffer the little children to come unto me. How many owe and will yet owe, their eternal happiness to thee, O Joseph, because thou and thy sons have preserved in them the divine likeness received in baptism, man’s only title to heaven! Be thou blessed for having justified the confidence Jesus placed in thee by entrusting to thy care those frail little beings, who are the objects of his divine predilection. Be thou blessed for having still further corresponded to that confidence of our Lord, when he suffered thee, like Job, to be persecuted by Satan, and with yet more cruel surprises than those of the just Idumæan. Must not God be able to count unfailingly upon those who are his? Is it not fitting that, amidst the defections of this miserable world, he should be able to show his Angels what grace can do in our poor nature, and how far his adorable will can be carried out in his Saints?

The reward of thy sufferings, which thy unwavering confidence expected from the Mother of God, came at the divinely appointed hour. O Joseph, now that the Pious Schools have been long ago re-established, bless the disciples whom even our age continues to give thee; obtain for them and for the countless scholars they train to Christian science, the blessing of the Infant Jesus. Give thy spirit and thy courage to all who devote their labors and their life to the education of the young; raise us all to the level of the teaching conveyed by thy heroic life. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, The Liturgical Year, Feast of Saint Joseph Calasanctius, August 27.)
