Forty Years of Emboldening, Appeasing, and Enabling Killers

Part One

Although I was going to write an article over the coming weekend for posting on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, the fortieth anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton that decriminalized baby-killing up to and including the day of birth in this country, events compel me to do so now, at least insofar as the first part of a three part series.

Indeed, today, the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter in Rome, is an apt time for the posting of this commentary as the apostates who have dared to call themselves Successors of Saint Peter continue to reap a bitter legacy by virtue of their multiple apostasies, sacrileges and blasphemies that have offended God and scandalized Catholics and non-Catholics alike.

The daily carnage of the preborn, both by chemical and surgical means, means nothing to Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, who speaks about abortion about as rarely as speaks about Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary (and that is very, very rare).

I promise to be very brief as my throbbing head can only take so much pounding on the keyboard at this time. Penance is indeed better than ever in 2013. All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you. Save souls!

How can I say this?

It is very simple.

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI continues to bestow honors upon public officials and leaders of non-Catholic religions who support and enable the chemical and surgical assassination of innocent preborn children and who also, at least in most instances, also support the granting of legal status of "marriage" or "civil unions" to those engaged in perverse acts in violation of the binding precepts of the Sixth and Ninth Commandments

There is quite a Dishonor Roll of Miscreants who have been honored by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict and his immediate predecessor as the General Secretary of the Occupy Vatican Movement.

Among these miscreants have been:

1) Sir Sigmund Sternberg, a member of the "Reform" branch of Talmudic Judaism, was "knighted" by Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II in 1985. Sir Sigmund, as he is called in the United Kingdom, was responsible for arranging for Wojtyla/John Paul II's first-ever "papal" visit to a Talmudic synagogue on April 13, 1986, whereby the false "pontiff" violated the Canon Law of the Catholic Church, which forbade such visits. Sir Sigmund was responsible for convincing Wojtyla/John Paul II to move a Carmelite convent from a site near the Auschwitz concentration camp. He was also instrumental in establishing diplomatic relations between the State of Vatican City, now in conciliar captivity, with the Zionist State of Israel on December 30, 1993.

All of this is, of course, bad enough, indicative of how the counterfeit church of conciliarism caters to the ancient enemies of the Faith, those who make warfare against the Social Reign of Christ the King so incessantly and in so many varied ways, without ever once--and I mean ever once--seeking with urgency their unconditional conversion to the true Faith as did, say, Saint Peter and Saint Stephen the Protomartyr and the man who presided over his martyrdom, Saint Paul the Apostle, and Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., among others.

Sir Sigmund Sternberg, however, has also been quite supportive of an organization called Rights and Humanity, issuing the following statement in its support:

“What Rights and Humanity has achieved since its establishment is quite astounding, whether at government level, in association with non-governmental organisations, universities or professional associations."  (Sir Sigmund Sternberg, Order of St John, KCSG, Patron)

 

Rights and Humanity's website is very explicit in its support of "reproductive rights:"

UN Adoption: the tipping point

At the same time, the UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, was calling for the integration of human rights into the broad range of UN activities, including in the areas of development and humanitarian affairs.

We had already been working intensively with WHO and UNDP to ensure integration of human rights into their policies and programmes. Rights and Humanity’s book was of immediate benefit to the staff of all UN agencies who were grappling for the first time with understanding how human rights was relevant to their work and led to a rapid adoption of the human rights approach to development across UN agencies.

Over the coming years, we were commissioned to advise on policy and the practical implementation of this approach and to provide training for a wide range of UN agencies in this regard.

Simultaneously, other factors were combining to help build the environment conducive to a human rights approach to development and which influenced its adoption on the international stage.

These include:

 

• confirmation at the World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna, 1993, of the right to development as an inalienable human right
• recognition of women’s rights, including reproductive rights, as an essential basis for development and the strengthened global commitment to ensuring equality between men and women made at the 1994 Cairo and 1995 Beijing Conferences
• establishment of the post of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) with the strengthened mandate to promote the right to development
• the experience of UNICEF in utilising the Convention on the Rights of the Child as a foundation for its policies and programmes.

Sir Sigmund Sternberg is also the Vice President of a pro-abortion organization known as One World Action, which awards something called the "One World Action/Sternberg Award annually.

None of this was an impediment to Sigmund Sternberg being made a "knight" of the Order of Saint John by Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II. Ecumenism trumps truth as the counterfeit church of conciliarism bestows honors on those who promote social evils under cover of the civil law.

It is incongruous, you see, for those in the counterfeit church of conciliarism to protest an award being given to a sitting President of the United States of America who supports the same evils as those adherents of the Talmud who have been "knighted" or awarded medals by Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II and Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI.

Indeed, Sir Sigmund Sternberg has company in the conciliar hall of shame that honors men such as himself despite the fact that they belong to a false religion that makes warfare against the Church and thus against all social order while promoting one evil after another under cover of the civil law.

The late Leon Klenicki, a rabbi of the Reform branch of Talmudic Judaism, and an official in the pro-abortion Anti-Defamation League of B'Nai Brith, was granted a "knighthood" in Order of Saint Gregory by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI on August 27, 2007 (see Continuing to Knight Infidels).

Reform Rabbi Walter Jacob was"knighted" to the Papal Order of Saint Gregory by the then conciliar "bishop" of Pittsburgh, who has since succeeded Theodore "Allah" McCarrick as the conciliar "archbishop" of Washington, D.C., on June 18, 2005.

Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, "converted" to the counterfeit church of conciliarism without having to abjure his support for the chemical and surgical killing of children, and has been received warmly by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI at the Vatican.

Blair's wife, Cherie Brown, is an unrepentant supporter of what is called euphemistically as "reproductive rights," although she opposes abortion for purposes of "sex-selection." This did not stop the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, The Angelicum, from inviting her to give an address in December of 2008. No one blinked an eye when Mrs. Blair expressed her support for contraception in a question and answer session after the lecture.

Let we forget, of course, the ever avuncular Roger "Cardinal" Mahony, who retired last year on March 1, 2011, as the nefarious conciliar "archbishop" of Los Angeles, California, whose archdiocese has had to pay out close to $1 billion in settlement money to victims of perverted priests who had been protected by Mahony and his crew, bestowed "papal knighthoods" upon thirty-third degree Masons Roy Disney, whose motion picture company's various divisions have distributed films that have attacked the Catholic Faith and promoted all manner of insidious evils, and Rupert Murdoch,whose FOX broadcast television network broke ground in the field of producing and airing some of the most reprehensible and morally offensive programming in the history of American television.

Some will protest that these "papal" "knights" were bestowed honors in spite of their support for various evils, that their work in "other areas," such as ecumenism (or, in the cases of Roy Disney and Rupert Murdoch, giving oodles and oodles of money to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for the deformation of souls under Mahony's false stewardship).

Well, isn't that what "Father" John Jenkins, the President of the University of Notre Dame du Lac, claimed four years ago was the case with President Barack Hussein Obama, that he, Obama, was not being honored because of his support for abortion but because he is the first black President of the United States of America?

Obviously, it did not matter whether Barack Hussein Obama was black, white, green, yellow, red, brown, pink or turquoise. What matters then and matters now is that that he supports the mystical dismemberment of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the persons of innocent preborn children in their mothers' wombs. It does, however, become a little incongruous for those attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism to have protested an honor that was upon a sitting  pro-abortion President of the United States of American when honors have been bestowed by the conciliar "pontiffs" upon men who have been in the vanguard of promoting one social evil after another under cover of the civil law.

The Catholic Church does not confer honors on men who promote evils under cover of the civil law. The counterfeit church of conciliarism does confer such honors.

A true pope never threatens the integrity of the Deposit of Faith by honoring those who are at war with the One Whose Vicar on earth he is. The false "popes" of conciliarism threaten the integrity of the Deposit of Faith by, among things, honoring those who are indeed at war with the Invisible Head of the Catholic Church, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Why should we be surprised, therefore, that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI received a fully pro-abortion Catholic by the name of Leon Panetta, the outgoing United States Secretary of Defense, at the Vatican on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, the Feast of Pope Saint Marcellus I, and thanked him for helping to "protect the world"?

ROME — On what is probably his last trip as defense secretary, Leon E. Panetta had an audience on Wednesday morning at the Vatican with Pope Benedict XVI, who told him, Mr. Panetta said, “Thank you for helping to protect the world.” Mr. Panetta said he replied, “Pray for me.”

Mr. Panetta, the son of Italian immigrants who attends Mass every Sunday, is halfway through a weeklong trip to Europe meant as a goodbye tour of American allies. Later on Wednesday he is to meet with the Italian prime minister, Mario Monti, as well as the president of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano.

Mr. Panetta’s audience with the pope was far from private, although he had a close-up view. Mr. Panetta sat in the front row of the Pope Pius VI Audience Hall, where 7,000 others had gathered for the pope’s weekly audience. After an hourlong service, Mr. Panetta filed up with several dozen people, including a bride, to receive a blessing from the pope, who spoke to him at that time.

Defense officials said Mr. Panetta previously had an audience with Pope John Paul II when Mr. Panetta, who was a budget director and a chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, accompanied Mr. Clinton to Rome. What an unspeakable outrage.

Leon Edward Panetta supported chemical and surgical baby-killing as a member of the United States House of Representatives from January 3, 1977, to January 21, 1993. Representative Panetta voted to fund the chemical and surgical assassination of innocent children by means of domestic and international "family planning" programs. He supported the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, January 22, 1973. He made the "I am personally opposed to abortion but cannot impose my morality upon others" argument to do so.

Leon Edward Panetta supported chemical and surgical baby-killing as the Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget in the administration of the fully pro-abortion William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.. from January 21, 1993, to July 17, 1994. This means that he was responsible for overseeing budgetary requests to fund fetal tissue experimentation and the testing of the human pesticide, RU-486, both of which became administration policy when Clinton signed executive orders on January 22, 1973, the twentieth anniversary of the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.

Leon Edward Panetta supported chemical and surgical baby-killing when he served as the White House Chief of Staff for President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton from July 17, 1994, to January 20, 1997.

Leon Edward Panetta has backed one pro-abortion, pro-perversity candidate for public office after another.

Leon Edward Panetta remained completely pro-abortion when he served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from February 13, 2009, to June 30, 2011.

Leon Edward Panetta has been fully supportive of contraception and abortion as the United States Secretary of Defense from July 1, 2011, to the present time, although he will leave office upon confirmation of his successor, who is likely to be former United States Senator Charles Timothy Hagel (R-Nebraska) (see Our Slave Drivers Are In Liberation Mode Again.) This means that Secretary Leon Edward Panetta has overseen and approved the distribution of contraceptive pills and devices to American troops. It means as well that he has presided over a policy that permits innocent babies to be sliced and diced by surgical means at hospitals operated by the armed forces of the United States of America in cases where it is alleged that a mother's life is endangered. Secretary Panetta has also enforced the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy instituted by his pro-abortion, pro-perversity master, President Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro.

Leon Edward Panetta was permitted by the now retired conciliar "bishop" of Monterey, California, Sylvester Ryan, to remain in "good standing" in the Diocese of Monterey despite his support or the daily slaughter of the preborn under cover of the civil law by chemical and surgical means. Panetta was even appointed  in 2002 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to serve on the advisory board to review the handling of clerical abuse cases. Panetta's support for baby-killing under cover of the civil law meant nothing, and he puts in a pretty good piece of coin at the Basilica of Saint Charles Borromeo in Carmel, California, where he is a parishioner (and where the body of Father Junipero Serra is buried in the sanctuary). What's next? "Papal" "knight" Leon Edward Panetta.

Then again, "Pope" Benedict tells us that Leon Edward Panetta has helped to "protect the world." Go tell that to the innocent preborn.

How can those who who voted to fund and who support as a matter of principle the chemical and surgical execution of innocent preborn children be "thanked" for "helping" to "protected the world"?

He cannot not.

Despite this, of course, Leon Edward Panetta was permitted to found the Panetta Institute for Public Policy at his alma mater, Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California, and he has been permitted to teach at this Jesuit university despite supporting the slaughter of the innocent preborn by chemical and surgical means.

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI plainly does not believe the following words, written by Silvio Cardinal Antoniano in the Sixteenth Century and quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 29, 1929:

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it

contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. Leon Edward Panetta helped to "protect the world"?

When are you going to learn that truth does not matter to the conciliar officials?

The truth of the Divine Positive Law does not matter to the conciliar officials.

The truth of the Natural Law does not matter to the conciliar officials.

Truth of no kind matters to the conciliar officials.

The conciliar officials care only for their own fictitious, man-made beliefs and liturgies, as well as their adherence to junk science (evolutionism, global warming) and junk history, from which no one is permitted to dissent (see Williamson, Richard: Please Help Bishop Fellay Find His Hermeneutic Of Continuity, part one).

To wit, the "pope" has given a gigantic shrug of the "papal" shoulders in response to the apostasy of his fellow countryman, "Archbishop" Robert Zollitsch of Freiburg-Breisgau, Germany, for the past one thousand, three hundred seventy-eight days. What's the big deal about denying that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ died on the wood of the Holy Cross in atonement for our sins?

The "pope" has given a gigantic shrug of the "papal" shoulders to the binding nature of dogmatic statements made by our true councils and our true popes. So what if our true councils have taught us that the Mosaic Covenant has been abrogated and has the power to save no one, that Talmudic Judaism is the work of the devil? So what if our true popes have condemned religious liberty and separation of Church and State? A shrug of the "papal" shoulders and a nod in the direction of the philosophically absurd and dogmatically condemned "hermeneutic of continuity and discontinuity" makes it all just kind of go away or disappear or become irrelevant.

The "pope" has given a gigantic shrug of the "papal" shoulders to the binding precepts of the First and Second Commandments as he has personally esteemed the symbols of false religions and called places of false worship as "sacred" when they are such only to the devil himself. This shrug of the "papal" shoulders has extended to entering into those places of false worship and even giving "joint blessings" with the alleged ministers of false religions, content to being treated as an inferior by his non-Catholic hosts.

The "pope" has given a gigantic shrug of the "papal" shoulders to the outrageous articles and editorials that have appeared in the Vatican's semi-official newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano. The Beatles? The Rolling Stone? Harry Potter? Homer Simpson? Oscar Wilde? Karl Marx? Martin Luther? Charles Darwin? John Calvin? Barack Obama has turned out not to be so pro-abortion after all? Ah, just a few differences here and there with the Catholic Faith and with even reality on the purely natural level. We can still find "value" in each, right?

The "pope" has given a gigantic shrug of the "papal" shoulders to rank displays of immodesty in his presence. Actually, as was noted in Benedict in Wonderland, he did more than shrug his shoulders when the Pellegrini Brothers performed their strip-tease dance in front him at the Paul VI Audience Hall on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. He gawked at them. He applauded them. So did the assembled "cardinals" and "bishops."

The "pope" has given a gigantic shrug of the "papal" shoulders to "Archbishop" Rino Fisichella's support for the direct, intentional killing of twin babies being carried by a nine-year old girl in Brazil in 2009 (see Vatican Archbishop, Spokesman Come Out Swinging against Pro-Life Critics; see also So Long to the Fifth Commandment, the Statement of those "Pontifical Academy for Life" members who criticized Fisichella, Dr. Marian Therese Horvat's The Holy See Abandons its Pro-Life Position, and Rotten To The Very Roots.)

As a "cardinal," Joseph Ratzinger just waved off Pope Leo XIII's condemnation of forty propositions of Father Antonio Rosmini and, among so many other things, endorsed the Assyrian Church of the East's "Eucharistic Canon" that contains no words of consecration.

As a "cardinal," Joseph Ratzinger gave a conference in which he declared that Protestant "theologians" who denied the Sacred Divinity of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ still continued "believing in a Christian manner," that they possessed valuable "insights" to help us understand Our Lord better:

Up to the very end of his conference, Card. Ratzinger resolutely continues on this road of agnosticism and now logically comes to the most disastrous of conclusions. He writes:

 

In conclusion, as we contemplate our present-day religious situation, of which I have tried to throw some light on some of its elements, we may well marvel at the fact that, after all, people still continue believing in a Christian manner, not only according to Hick's, Knitter's as well as others' substitute ways or forms, but also according to that full and joyous Faith found in the New Testament of the Church of all time.

So, there it is: For Card. Ratzinger, "Hick, Knitter, and others" who deny the divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Church, His sacraments, and, in short, all of Christianity, continue "despite everything" "believing in a Christian manner," even though they do so using "substitute forms of belief"! Here, the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Faith leaves us wondering indeed, just what it is he means by "believing in a Christian manner."

Moreover, once the "preambula fidei" have been eliminated, that "full and joyous Faith of the Church of all time" which seems [for Card. Ratzinger] to be no different from modern-day apostasies other than by its style and total character, is utterly lacking in any rational credibility in comparison with and in relation to what he refers to as "substitute ways or forms" of faith. "How is it," Card. Ratzinger wonders, "in fact, that the Faith [the one of all time] still has a chance of success?" Answer:

 

 

I would say that it is because it finds a correspondence in man's nature…..There is, in man, an insatiable desire for the infinite. None of the answers we have sought is sufficient [but must we take his own word for it, or must we go through the exercise of experiencing all religions?]. God alone [but Whom, according to Card. Ratzinger, human reason cannot prove to be truly God], Who made Himself finite in order to shatter the bonds of our own finitude and bring us to the dimension of His infinity [...and not to redeem us from the slavery of sin?] is able to meet all the needs of our human existence.

According to this, it is therefore not objective motives based on history and reason, and thus the truth of Christianity, but only a subjective appreciation which brings us to "see" that it [Christianity] is able to satisfy the profound needs of human nature and which would explain the "success" [modernists would say the "vitality"] of the "faith" ["of all time" or in its "substitute forms," it is of but little importance]. Such, however, is not at all Catholic doctrine: this is simply modernist apologetics (cf. Pope St. Pius X, Pascendi), based on their affirmed impossibility of grasping metaphysical knowledge (or agnosticism or skepticism), which Card. Ratzinger seemed to want to shun in the first part of his address.

Now we are in a position to better understand why Card. Ratzinger has such a wide-open concept of "theology" and of "faith" that he includes everything: theology as well as heresies, faith and apostasy. On that road of denial of the human reason's ability of attaining metaphysical knowledge, a road which he continues to follow, he lacks the "means of discerning the difference between faith and non-faith" (R. Amerio, op. cit., p.340) and, consequently, theology from pseudo-theology, truth from heresy:

All theologies are nullified, because all are regarded as equivalent; the heart or kernel of religion is located in feelings or experiences, as the Modernists held at the beginning of this century (Amerio, op. cit., p.542).

 

We cannot see how this position of Card. Ratzinger can escape that solemn condemnation proclaimed at Vatican I: "If anyone says...that men must be brought to the Faith solely by their own personal interior experience...let him be anathema" (DB 1812). (Cardinal Ratzinger. This article, by the way, appeared in a publication of the Society of Saint Pius X, Si, Si, No, No in January of 1998.)

 

Thus it is that in the fictitious world of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, Leon Edward Panetta, who has helped to cover-up the Benghazi scandal and has served as a willing lap dog for two pro-abortion presidents, has helped to "protect the world" while supporting and promoting sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance.

Why should we be in the least bit surprised that reprobates such as Andrew Mark Cuomo, who will be the subject of part two of this series, remain in perfectly good standing in the conciliar structures. How can the conciliar "bishops" be blamed for taking no action (not that they want to, you understand) against Catholics in public life who support abortion and perversity when their "pope" rivals them in emboldening, appeasing and enabling men and women who have the blood of the innocent dripping on their hands?

The "pope," of course, is not pope at all. Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI did, after all, say the following to the pro-abortion, pro-perversity President Barack Hussein Obama on Friday, July 10, 2009:

 

 

"A blessing on all your work and also for you." (Benedict XVI meets Obama - Catholic Herald Online. See also A "Blessing" on a Murderer and His Work.)

Remember, a man who has offended God in matters pertaining to Divine Revelation, especially as pertains to the First, Second and Third Commandments, will have no problem with those who offend Him in the other Commandments, including Fifth, Sixth and Ninth. Apart from being the Feast of Chair of Saint Peter, today is also the Feast of Saint Prisca, who refused to do what Benedict XVI does all of the time: deny the Catholic Faith:

At the time Claudius was Caesar, he issued a new and most impious edict to the whole world, that the Christians should offer sacrifice to the gods or be put to death. He ordered his presidents and judges to carry out his law, that he might destroy the the worship of the Christians; he enjoined on them, moreover, that those consenting to the sacrifice should be considered worthy of great honour, while non-conformists should be treated with the utmost cruelty. In order to manifest the earnestness of his impious law, this Emperor Claudius held sacrifices in the Temple of Apollo, and at the same time ordered the soldiers to seize all who were known to be Christians, men and women, and by dint of terror and direful tortures force them to sacrifice to the gods.

There were then malignant men who ardently desired to destroy the Christian worship; and coming to a certain church, they found the blessed Prisca, praying. She was of noble blood; her father had been thrice consul, and was exceedingly rich. This holy child was in her seventh year, and was adorned with the grace of god and the most perfect purity of morals. The ministers of the Emperor said to her: "Our Emperor Claudius has commanded you to sacrifice voluntarily to the gods?" The blessed Prisca said with a joyful heart" "First let me enter the holy universal Church, that I may commend myself to my Lord Jesus Christ, and then we will go in peace. It is necessary that, in the name of our Lord, I confound your unworthy Emperor, and assist in the triumph of Jesus. And returning to the church, she completed her prayers.

Having finished her petition, she went with them to the Emperor. the ministers, entering into the apartments of Claudius, said to him: "This girl is willing to obey the commands of your majesty." On hearing this he rejoiced exceedingly, and ordered her to be brought into his presence. When she was brought into the palace before him, he said: "Thou art great, O god Apollo! and glorious above all the gods, who has brought me this illustrious virgin, so beautiful and with such good dispositions." Then turning to blessed Prisca, he said" "I have arranged to have you brought to me, to make you my mistress, and the sharer in the power of my kingdom." To this Prisca said: "But I will sacrifice without blood, and only to the immaculate God, my Lord Jesus Christ."

The Emperor, hearing these things, and not understanding their meaning, ordered her to be led to the Temple of Apollo that she might sacrifice to him. The holy virgin being ordered to enter the temple, said with a cheerful countenance to the Emperor: "Do you also enter, and all the priests of Apollo, that you may see how the omnipotent and immaculate Lord is pleased with the sacrifices of His faithful." The Emperor ordered all who had gathered round to watch what she was going to do.

Blessed Prisca said: "Glory be to Thee, O glorious Father! I invoke Thee, I implore Thee, cast down this motionless and dumb idol, the vile emblem of falsehood and corruption; but do Thou, O Lord, hear me, a sinner, that this Emperor may know how vain is the hope he has placed in his idols, and that he ought to adore no other god but Thee alone."

When she had prayed thus, there was immediately a great earthquake, so that the whole city was shaken; the statue of the god shook, and fell to the ground; in like manner the fourth part of the temple was destroyed, and overwhelmed a multitude of people, together with the priests of the idol.

The Emperor was terrified, and fled. Prisca said to him: "Stay, Emperor, and assist; your Apollo is broken to pieces, and you may now gather up the fragments, moreover, his priests are destroyed in the same ruin; let him come now and assist them."

And the demon who dwelt in the idol cried out with a loud voice: "O virgin Prisca! handmaid of the great God who reigns in heaven, thou who keepest His commandments and hast stripped me of my habitation!--I have lived here for sixty-seven years, and under Claudius Caesar twelve. Many martyrs have come and have not exposed me. Having under me ninety-three other most impious spirits, I order each of them to sacrifice to me daily fifty souls of men. O Emperor, persecutor of the Christians! thou hast found a holy soul, through whom thou wilt finish they reign in disgrace." These words were spoken by a loud voice and great lamentation; terrible darkness surrounded those who were present, and they went away in great trepidation and doubt.

The Emperor, not understanding that it was by the divine power that the idol had been overthrown, ordered her to be buffeted on the face; and when the executioners had beaten her for some time, they lost their strength and cried out: "Woe to us sinners! surely we suffer more than this girl: she i snot hurt, and we are in pain. We beseech thee, O Emperor, to have her taken from us." But the Emperor, enraged against them, ordered the face of the blessed Prisca to be beaten still more. Looking towards heaven, the holy virgin said--

"Blessed art Thou, O Lord Jesus Christ! for Thou givest eternal peace to those who believe in Thee." And when she had said this, she was surrounded with a bright light, and a voice from heaven was heard saying--

"Daughter, be of good courage and fear nothing, for I am the God whom thou invokest, and I will never abandon thee."

After these things the Emperor was enraged almost to madness.

The next day, sitting before his tribunal, the Emperor said: "The that wicked little sorceress be brought in, that we may see some more of her charms."

When she was brought before him, he said to her: "Will you consent to live with me, and sacrifice to the gods?"

But she firmly replied: "Cease, most impious of men, and son of a satanic father! Are you not ashamed to insult a helpless girl and ill treat her thus, when you know she will never consent to sacrifice to your idols?"

Then the Emperor in a fury ordered her to be stript and to be beaten with whips. The child's body appeared as white as snow, and so bright was the bright light that issued from her, that the eyes of the beholders were dazzled. Whilst they were beating her, the holy virgin said: "I have cried with my voice to the Lord, and He heard me in the combat of my passion."

The Emperor, hearing her pay thus, said: "Do you think you will seduce me with your magic?"

But blessed Prisca answered: "Thy father Satan is the prince of all darkness; he loves fornicators and embraces magicians." The Emperor then ordered her to be beaten with rods, but the Saint, hearing this new punishment, smiled and said: "O unjust and impious man, enemy of God and inventor of evils! you are too blinded to know the blessings you are procuring for me from the Eternal Creator." Many attempts were made to kill Saint Prisca before she did indeed become a martyr for the Faith. As is recorded in The Martyrs of the Roman Coliseum:

 

 

Then the Emperor, enraged beyond measure, ordered her to be led outside the city to be beheaded. The holy martyr Prisca, rejoicing said: "O Lord Jesus Christ, Redeemer of all, I praise Thee, I adore Thee, I beseech Thee, I implore Thee, who hast liberated me from all the evils intended for me. Save me now, O Lord Jesus Christ, with whom there is no acceptation of persons; perfect me in the confession of Thy name; order me to be received into Thy glory, that I may happily escape the evils by which I am surrounded; and reward the impious Claudius according to his works towards Thy helpless handmaid!" And having said this she turned towards the executioners and addressed them thus: "Fulfil the orders you have received.: And thus did the blessed Prisca end her life by the sword; and a voice was heard from heaven, saying: "Because thou hast fought for My name, Prisca, enter into the kingdom of heaven with all My saints.: And when this was said, the executioners fell and their faces and died.

Then it was announced to the Bishop of Rome by a Christian who watched in concealment, how they led the blessed Prisca along the Ostian Way, to about the tenth milestone, and there beheaded her, and took away her life. The Bishop, having heard this, went with him to the place he mentioned, and they found her body between two eagles, once at her head and the other at her feet, guarding it, lest the beasts should touch it. There was a dazzling light round her head, and her face smiled in the Holy Spirit. Then the Bishop himself and his companion dug a grave, and buried her in the spot.

When the Emperor heard all these things, he was struck the same day with terrible grief in his heart, and like a rabid dog ate his own flesh, and groaning and trembling, he cried: "Have pity on me, O God of the Christians! I know I have transgressed Thy precepts, O Christ, and blasphemed Thee; I have persecuted Thy name, and have ungratefully sinned against Thee; Thou rewardest me as I have desired." He expired, convulsed and writhing in agony, and a terrible voice was heard saying, "Enter, Emperor, into the furnace of hell; to to exterior darkness, for gloomy places of pain are prepared for thee." There was a great earthquake, and there believed that day, of those who were in Rome, on account of the voice that was heard from heaven, more than five thousand, not counting women and children. the martyrdom of the blessed Prisca took place on the 18th day of January. The man who pretends to sit on the Throne of Saint Peter is a man who has done everything imaginable to destroy the integrity of Catholic Faith, Worship and Morals. It is no wonder that Catholics such as Leon Edward Panetta, Andrew Mark Cuomo, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., Daniel Malloy, Martin O'Malley, Patrick Leahy, Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi, Patrick Quinn, Richard Durbin, Thomas Harkin, Robert Menendez, Barbara Mikulski, and Sonya Sotomayor, among so many others who are active in public life at this time, have been emboldened to support grave evils under cover of the civil law. The conciliar "bishops" have appeased and enabled them time and time again. It is that simple.

Well, that is all my throbbing head can take for now.

 

We are, as noted just above, suffering through a chastisement that cannot be "defeated" in the voting booth. The evils of the day will only be defeated when the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is made manifest, which is why we must first of all be about the business of restoring right order in our own immortal souls, especially during this penitential season of Lent, by spending more and more time, if at all possible, before Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament and by praying as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits.

We need to accept every single personal penance that comes our way, thanking God for them as we rejoice in our crosses as they are the means by which we can give honor and glory to the Most Blessed Trinity while seeking to do penance for our sins as the consecrated slaves of Christ the King through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary our Immaculate Queen.

It is to keep us humble that God does not permit us to see much, if any, of the fruit that will flower as a result of the seeds that we seek to plant by whatever merits we earn from patiently enduring the personal, social and ecclesiastical crosses of our times. We are, though, to remember these words of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself:

[6] And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you. [7] But which of you having a servant ploughing, or feeding cattle, will say to him, when he is come from the field: Immediately go, sit down to meat: [8] And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink? [9] Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him? [10] I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do. (Luke 17: 6-10.)

 

The Bishop Challoner Commentary on the Douay-Rheims Bible explains what Our Lord meant when He called us unprofitable servants for simply doing our duty every day as befits redeemed creatures:

[10] "Unprofitable servants"... Because our service is of no profit to our master; and he justly claims it as our bounden duty. But though we are unprofitable to him, our serving him is not unprofitable to us; for he is pleased to give by his grace a value to our good works, which, in consequence of his promise, entitles them to an eternal reward.

 

That's good enough for me. What about you? There's work to do to convert ourselves, others and our nation. Why murmur about the work given us by Christ the King Himself for us to do in order to save our immortal souls that He redeemed at the cost of shedding every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross on Good Friday?

Our Lady appeared to Jacinta and Francisco Marto and to Lucia dos Santos just a little under seven years after Pope Saint Pius X anticipated the essence of the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart with these telling words:

 

. . . . For there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)
