All Hail! Caesar Obamus

by Thomas A. Droleskey

Naturalists of the left are, noting a few exceptions here and there, fascists of the first order. The very people who deny that there are objective truths that exist in the Order of Creation (Order of Nature) and have been revealed positively by God in the Order of Redemption (Order of Grace) exclusively through His Catholic Church believe that they are infallible and that they have the right to denounce anyone and everyone who opposes them with the most vile slogans imaginable. The fascism of the naturalists of the left seek to use rank intimidation to silence all opposition, which they view as illegitimate and actually a "clear and present danger" to the common temporal good of a society that has fallen into their hands as a logical consequence of the degenerative processes wrought by the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King by the Protestant Revolt and the rise of Judeo-Masonry.

Obviously, the present-day naturalists of the left did not invent sloganeering nor are they first even in the experience of the United States of America to seek to use all means necessary to suppress those who dare to oppose whatever current of naturalism controlled the levers of power at a given time.

Long before there was a Maximilian Robespierre or an Otto von Bismarack or a Karl Marx or a Vladimir Lenin or a Plutarco Elias Calles or an Adolf Hitler or a Mao Tse-Tung or a Ho Chi Minh or a Fidel Castro or a Saul Alinksy there were the Sophists in ancient Athens. The late philosopher Simone Weil described the efforts of these Sophists in Athens in the Fifth Century before Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to suppress opposition to their moral and cultural relativism that made "man" the measure of all things:

"It is as though we had returned to the age of Protagoras and the Sophists, the age when the art of persuasion--whose modern equivalent is advertising slogans, publicity, propaganda meetings, the press, the cinema, and radio--took the place of thought and controlled the fate of cities and accomplished coups d'etat. So the ninth book of Plato's Republic looks like a description of contemporary events." (Simone Weil, quoted in Russell Kirk, The Roots of American Order.)

Efforts on the part of naturalists to suppress all opposition, whether emanating from believers in the true Faith, Catholicism, or from a complete group (or groups) or naturalists have much precedent right here in the United States of America. The twenty percent or so of the colonists in the thirteen English colonies who remained loyal to United Kingdom of Great Britain were harassed and hounded by self-styled "patriots" in the decade or so prior to the promulgation of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This harassment was even more pronounced during the Revolutionary War.

It was within a decade of the inauguration of the first President of the United States of America, George Washington, that a Congress controlled by Federalist Party members during the administration of Washington's successor, the Catholic-hating John Adams (see A Founding Hatred for Christ the King), who was, of course, the first Vice President of the United States of America, that Alien and Sedition Acts were passed on July 14, 1798, made it a crime to publish "false, scandalous, and malicious" writing against the government of the United States of America and its officials.

The sixteenth President of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln, did not exactly "cotton" to political opposition during the War Between the States from 1861 to 1865, as he intimidated judges, shut down newspapers, suspended the writ of habeas corpus without an Act of Congress, held opponents in prison without trial and put civilians on trial in military courts at a time when civilian courts were open. And this is just a partial listing of what led John Wilkes Booth to cry out, "Sic temper tyrannus!" as he jumped onto the stage of the Ford Theater in Washington, District of Columbia, on Good Friday, April 14, 1865, from the balcony where he had just shot Lincoln in the head, a wound that would take Lincoln's life early the next morning, Holy Saturday, April 15, 1865.

Suppression of opposition to American involvement in World War I under the administration of President Thomas Woodrow Wilson was so extensive that Senator Hiram Johnson of California, who had run as former President Theodore Roosevelt's Vice Presidential running-mate on the Progressive (Bull Moose) Party ticket in 1912 when Wilson was running for his first term as President against Roosevelt and then President William Howard Taft, who had defeated Roosevelt, to say on the floor of the United States Senate: "It is now a crime for anyone to say anything or print anything against the government of the United States. The punishment for doing so is to go to jail" (quoted in Dr Paul Johnson's Modern Times). (See also my Fascists for Freedom.)

Suppression of opposition to the policies of statists of one stripe or another is nothing new, you see. It has been around for a long, long time. There is even a certain "logic" to the efforts on the part of naturalists to suppress opposition as those committed to their own acquisition and retention of personal power as an ultimate end/or who are committed ideologues of one system of "secular salvation" or another ape, pervert, invert and distort the Catholic Church's teaching that the civil state is is "acting against the laws and dictates of nature whenever it permits the license of opinion and of action to lead minds astray from truth and souls away from the practice of virtue" (Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885.) Statists believe their anyone who opposes their schemes and their firmly-held ideological beliefs is leading "minds away from truth" and must be denounced and threatened with fines and imprisonment.

You see, good readers, those who believe n the false, naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, and semi-Pelagian principles of Modernity that must degenerate into full-blown statists (see Welcome to the U.S.S.A ) who cannot ever "co-exist" peacefully with Catholics who believe in the immutable doctrine of the Social Reign of Christ the King and who are devoted to the restoration of Our Lord's Social Kingship as the fundamental precondition of a rightly ordered civil government that pursues the common temporal good in light of man's Last End. These statists must seek to make war upon believing Catholics, especially those who reject the Modernism of the counterfeit church of conciliarism that has made its "reconciliation" with the diabolical principles of Modernity.

As I have noted many times on this site, one of the reasons I am not employable in my chosen field of political science despite stellar evaluations of teaching effectiveness from peer evaluators is because of my long record of teaching political science as a Catholic and my work in defense of the Faith outside of the Catholic, including my campaigns for public office on the Right to Life Party line. The open and undisguised hostility that met me in some of the places where I taught was indicative, of course, that the very people who claim that they are "tolerant" and "open-minded" are actually the most bigoted, intolerant people imaginable. Numerous are the instances of organized bands of leftist thugs attempting to disrupt lectures that have been given by naturalists of the "conservative" bent on college and universities campuses so as to prevent any "dissenting" voices from interfering with the transmission of "leftist truth."

This degenerative process is unstoppable by merely natural means. Only a very tiny percentage of people in the United States of America understand even the rudimentary elements of the immutable doctrine of the Social Reign of Christ the King, no less accept the truth that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order. No matter where they fall along the vast expanse of the ecclesiastical divide, most Catholics in the United States of America have had their worldview shaped by the naturalism of Americanism, a naturalism that has been aided and abetted by the view of Church-State relations held and advanced by the lords of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, who are rather tyrannical in their own right in seeking to obliterate opposition to their own revolutionary schemes.

The minions of Caesar Obamus, however, do not consider it "good enough" that most of those who belong at least nominally, to what they know should constitute their principal source of opposition, Catholicism,  are either supportive of their statism or indifferent about it. No, the minions of Caesar Obamus want to eradicate all opposition by whatever means necessary, including the use of slogans and labels to disparage anyone who would dare to raise their voices in opposition to their "magisterial" statements. We must remember it that those who do violence to reason and truth must first violence to language. The constant repetition of slogans to discredit opponents by the use of invectives is meant to create an atmosphere where the relatives, neighbors, coworkers and other associates of the "oddball" "bigots" who dare to criticize the policies of government officials are viewed with constant suspicion.

Consider this fact for a moment. Isn't it true that those of you who homeschool your children (and/or send your children to fully traditional Catholic schools where no concessions to conciliarism are made or even countenanced in the slightest) are sometimes criticized by your relatives and friends? Isn't it true those of you who take special care to dress your children modestly (and to dress your daughters in feminine attire at all times) and to protect them from the rot of popular culture are considered "extremists," if not members of a "cult," by at least some of your own family members? Isn't it true that even a desire to pray the family Rosary on your knees each day is considered to be an example of "religious fanaticism?" The lords of Modernity in the world and of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism have sought to create an atmosphere where the pressure wrought by human respect is meant to wear down anyone who has a mind shaped by the Mind of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as He has discharged It exclusively in His Catholic Church. Those who continue to resist must be denounced. Failing to crush opposition by slogans, the civil state will seek to use coercive measures to break this resistance, including the seizing of homeschooled children.

This is why officials at the federal and state levels in the Federal Republic of Germany have sought to enforce Hitler-era laws against homeschooling. Adhering to the orthodoxy of pure Jude-Masonic naturalism, Hitler wanted the education of the young to be controlled exclusively by the state for the purposes of rank indoctrination. Although Hitler's method of indoctrination was related to a publicly announced ideology of National Socialism, his desire to eliminate parental control of the education of children is a long-held goal of all stripes of naturalism (see America's Concentration Camps and On Borrowed Time No More). State-sponsored tactics to control the education of the young unites naturalists of all stripes no matter their differences on other matters of civil governance and public policy. It is essential to control the minds of the young in order to create a compliant servant class who will obey without complaint or without even questioning the orders of the likes of Caesar Obamus.

Pope Leo XIII, writing in Humanum Genus, issued one hundred twenty-five years ago today, April 20, 1884, and Pope Pius XI, writing in Divini Redemptoris, March 19, 1937, explained in their respective encyclical letters the common goals of the naturalists of Freemasonry and the Bolsheviks of Marxism-Leninism:

Wherefore we see that men are publicly tempted by the many allurements of pleasure; that there are journals and pamphlets with neither moderation nor shame; that stage-plays are remarkable for license; that designs for works of art are shamelessly sought in the laws of a so-called verism; that the contrivances of a soft and delicate life are most carefully devised; and that all the blandishments of pleasure are diligently sought out by which virtue may be lulled to sleep. Wickedly, also, but at the same time quite consistently, do those act who do away with the expectation of the joys of heaven, and bring down all happiness to the level of mortality, and, as it were, sink it in the earth. Of what We have said the following fact, astonishing not so much in itself as in its open expression, may serve as a confirmation. For, since generally no one is accustomed to obey crafty and clever men so submissively as those whose soul is weakened and broken down by the domination of the passions, there have been in the sect of the Freemasons some who have plainly determined and proposed that, artfully and of set purpose, the multitude should be satiated with a boundless license of vice, as, when this had been done, it would easily come under their power and authority for any acts of daring. . . .

With the greatest unanimity the sect of the Freemasons also endeavors to take to itself the education of youth. They think that they can easily mold to their opinions that soft and pliant age, and bend it whither they will; and that nothing can be more fitted than this to enable them to bring up the youth of the State after their own plan. Therefore, in the education and instruction of children they allow no share, either of teaching or of discipline, to the ministers of the Church; and in many places they have procured that the education of youth shall be exclusively in the hands of laymen, and that nothing which treats of the most important and most holy duties of men to God shall be introduced into the instructions on morals. (Pope Leo XIII, Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884.)

Communism, moreover, strips man of his liberty, robs human personality of all its dignity, and removes all the moral restraints that check the eruptions of blind impulse. There is no recognition of any right of the individual in his relations to the collectivity; no natural right is accorded to human personality, which is a mere cog-wheel in the Communist system. In man's relations with other individuals, besides, Communists hold the principle of absolute equality, rejecting all hierarchy and divinely-constituted authority, including the authority of parents. What men call authority and subordination is derived from the community as its first and only font. Nor is the individual granted any property rights over material goods or the means of production, for inasmuch as these are the source of further wealth, their possession would give one man power over another. Precisely on this score, all forms of private property must be eradicated, for they are at the origin of all economic enslavement.

Refusing to human life any sacred or spiritual character, such a doctrine logically makes of marriage and the family a purely artificial and civil institution, the outcome of a specific economic system. There exists no matrimonial bond of a juridico-moral nature that is not subject to the whim of the individual or of the collectivity. Naturally, therefore, the notion of an indissoluble marriage-tie is scouted. Communism is particularly characterized by the rejection of any link that binds woman to the family and the home, and her emancipation is proclaimed as a basic principle. She is withdrawn from the family and the care of her children, to be thrust instead into public life and collective production under the same conditions as man. The care of home and children then devolves upon the collectivity. Finally, the right of education is denied to parents, for it is conceived as the exclusive prerogative of the community, in whose name and by whose mandate alone parents may exercise this right.

What would be the condition of a human society based on such materialistic tenets? It would be a collectivity with no other hierarchy than that of the economic system. It would have only one mission: the production of material things by means of collective labor, so that the goods of this world might be enjoyed in a paradise where each would "give according to his powers" and would "receive according to his needs." Communism recognizes in the collectivity the right, or rather, unlimited discretion, to draft individuals for the labor of the collectivity with no regard for their personal welfare; so that even violence could be legitimately exercised to dragoon the recalcitrant against their wills. In the Communistic commonwealth morality and law would be nothing but a derivation of the existing economic order, purely earthly in origin and unstable in character. In a word. the Communists claim to inaugurate a new era and a new civilization which is the result of blind evolutionary forces culminating in a humanity without God.

When all men have finally acquired the collectivist mentality in this Utopia of a really classless society, the political State, which is now conceived by Communists merely as the instrument by which the proletariat is oppressed by the capitalists, will have lost all reason for its existence and will "wither away." However, until that happy consummation is realized, the State and the powers of the State furnish Communism with the most efficacious and most extensive means for the achievement of its goal.

Such, Venerable Brethren, is the new gospel which bolshevistic and atheistic Communism offers the world as the glad tidings of deliverance and salvation! It is a system full of errors and sophisms. It is in opposition both to reason and to Divine Revelation. It subverts the social order, because it means the destruction of its foundations; because it ignores the true origin and purpose of the State; because it denies the rights, dignity and liberty of human personality. (Pope Pius XI, Divi Redemptoris, March 19, 1937.)

We are eyewitnesses, of course, to the very incarnation of these evils in our own country as the logical, inexorable consequence of the false foundation upon which the Constitution of the United States of America is built. Nations must degenerate into statism when Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is not recognized as King. The collectivism of the ultimate expression of naturalism, Marxism-Leninism, must triumph when men do not live here below in light of their heavenly destiny as humble and submissive children of Holy Mother Church. The individual's obligation to live in accord with the binding precepts contained in the Deposit of Faith must yield to the absurdity of a "collective" sense of "conscience" created by contingent beings who did not create themselves and whose bodies are destined one day for the corruption of the grave until the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead on the Last Day.

A self-styled "philosopher" named Stanley Fish wrote in an op-ed column in The New York Times on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, that it is is indeed the case, that individuals have no right to use their own consciences (by means of conscience clauses, for example, to permit those in the health-care professions to refuse to participate in contraception and/or surgical abortion) to oppose the "collective" will of society, a variation of the thought of Thomas Hobbes and, of course, of the "general will" of Jean-Jacques Rousseau:

Were he alive, the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes would dissent, for he has another understanding of conscience altogether, one that casts quite a different light on this conflict. Hobbes begins with the etymology of “conscience” — conscire, to know in concert with another — and proceeds to a definition of conscience that turns the one we know upside down. Since conscience, correctly understood, refers to those occasions “when two or more men know of one and the same fact . . . which is as much to know it together,” it is a violation of conscience — of knowing together — to prefer their “secret thoughts” to what has been publicly established.

Hobbes is aware that others take conscience to be the name of the private arbiter of right and wrong, but he regards this as a corrupted usage invented by those who wished to elevate “their own . . . opinions” to the status of reliable knowledge and try to do so by giving “their opinions . . . that reverenced name of Conscience.”

Hobbes’s larger point — the point he is always making — is that if one gets to prefer one’s own internal judgments to the judgments of authorized external bodies (legislatures, courts, professional associations), the result will be the undermining of public order and the substitution of personal whim for general decorums: “. . . because the Law is the public Conscience . . . in such diversity as there is of private Consciences, which are but private opinions, the Commonwealth must needs be distracted, and no man dare to obey the Sovereign Power farther than it shall seem good in his own eyes.”

This elevation of private over public imperatives is what Leavitt and those on his side of the issue urge, and they urge it in the name of traditional American freedoms: “As citizens, we should all be concerned when freedoms that are enshrined in the constitution (e.g. freedom of conscience and religion) are blithely swept away” (Susan Martinuk, Calgary Herald). . . .

The force of these questions depends on assumptions the proponents of the conscience clause do not share, chiefly the assumption that obligations vary with different contexts and that one can (and should) relax the obligations of faith when one is not in church. This sequestering of religion in a private space is a cornerstone of enlightenment liberalism which only works as a political system if everyone agrees to comport himself or herself as a citizen and not as a sectarian, at least for the purposes of public transactions.

The conscience clause would permit people to opt out of that agreement, at least in certain circumstances. It appears that the pendulum is about to swing back in the other direction, but we can be sure that the story will have many more chapters. (Conscience vs. Conscience - Stanley Fish Blog - NYTimes.com)

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ does not want the rational creatures He redeemed on the wood of the Holy Cross to be awash in confusion and conflict over matters of personal conscience. He has given us His true Church to guide us infallibly on matters of personal conscience. Our consciences must be conformed at all times and in all things to the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law as He entrusted them to the Catholic Church. While disagreements may arise now and again as to the application of these precepts in the concrete circumstances of daily life (such as, for example, what constitutes extraordinary means of medical treatment or whether the tenets of the Just War Theory have been met to warrant the commencement to the use of armed force), Our Lord wants all men on the face of this earth to recognize that the Catholic Church is the repository of the precepts of the Moral Law and it is to her teaching authority that all men must look for guidance as they undertake actions in their own lives or, if they are positions of civil authority, as they undertake actions that impinge on the common temporal good of others in a community or a nation.

Pope Pius XI explained the matter this way in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929:

The Church does not say that morality belongs purely, in the sense of exclusively, to her; but that it belongs wholly to her. She has never maintained that outside her fold and apart from her teaching, man cannot arrive at any moral truth; she has on the contrary more than once condemned this opinion because it has appeared under more forms than one. She does however say, has said, and will ever say, that because of her institution by Jesus Christ, because of the Holy Ghost sent her in His name by the Father, she alone possesses what she has had immediately from God and can never lose, the whole of moral truth, omnem veritatem, in which all individual moral truths are included, as well those which man may learn by the help of reason, as those which form part of revelation or which may be deduced from it.

While it is true that human beings can apprehend by natural reason certain moral truths--and to know them certainly, it is also true that it is impossible to know the entirety of the moral law, no less to abide by it, absent a due subordination to the teaching of Holy Mother Church and a firm cooperation with the graces she administers to souls by means of the Sacraments.

Conflicts among men abound today on moral issues precisely because most men in the world do not look to the Catholic Church as the sole repository and infallible teacher of all that is contained in the Deposit of Faith. This is part of the rotten fruit of the Protestant Revolt, which reduced "belief" in Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to a matter of "individual interpretation," making it possible for men who considered themselves "believers" to disagree on the most fundamental matters of Revealed Truth as they rejected the simple fact that Our Lord gave us the Catholic Church to be our mater and our magister in all that pertains to the salvation of our immortal souls. The proliferation of Protestant sects set men on collision courses over matters of theology that had been entrusted solely to the Catholic Church, making it possible for naturalists to advance anti-Theistic philosophies and ideologies that helped to pave the way for the triumph of statism as the ultimate replacement for the Social Reign of Christ the King.

It is thus no surprise at all that the Secretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security, the pro-abort named Janet Napolitano, has issued a report warning of the potential "dangers" posed by "right-wing" extremist elements, described as follows in a footnote:

* (U) Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration. (Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.)

This is quite a concise statement of the worldview of those naturalists who consider themselves to be in possession of the right to control individual lives in the name of the "community" according to the "truths" of their leftist ideologies. This statement even manifests a contempt for the Federalism of the American founders, men who were, after all, considered just a wee-bit "anti-government" by the government of King George III. Those who "reject federal authority in favor of state and local authority" are possible terrorists? Mindful of the fact that the American founders set us on the course that has given us the likes of Caesar Obamus by believing that men could structure the well-ordered state without acknowledging that the Catholic Church has the right from God to direct men in all that pertains to the good of their immortal souls, the founders did have an understanding, no matter how inchoate, that there should be a division of authority between the central government and state governments, something that is indeed in accord with the Natural Law principle of subsidiarity that was enunciated very cleary by Pope Pius XI in Quadragesimo Anno, May 15, 1931:

As history abundantly proves, it is true that on account of changed conditions many things which were done by small associations in former times cannot be done now save by large associations. Still, that most weighty principle, which cannot be set aside or changed, remains fixed and unshaken in social philosophy: Just as it is gravely wrong to take from individuals what they can accomplish by their own initiative and industry and give it to the community, so also it is an injustice and at the same time a grave evil and disturbance of right order to assign to a greater and higher association what lesser and subordinate organizations can do. For every social activity ought of its very nature to furnish help to the members of the body social, and never destroy and absorb them.

The supreme authority of the State ought, therefore, to let subordinate groups handle matters and concerns of lesser importance, which would otherwise dissipate its efforts greatly. Thereby the State will more freely, powerfully, and effectively do all those things that belong to it alone because it alone can do them: directing, watching, urging, restraining, as occasion requires and necessity demands. Therefore, those in power should be sure that the more perfectly a graduated order is kept among the various associations, in observance of the principle of "subsidiary function," the stronger social authority and effectiveness will be the happier and more prosperous the condition of the State.

Was Pope Pius XI a dangerous "anti-government," right-wing "extremist" because he taught the principle of subsidiarity that requires human problems to be address in the institution closest to them (the family, the parish, the diocese--and then the government that is closest to the person in need and far as short a time as possible)?

As I have noted endlessly on this site, those who are advocates of "states' rights" can be faulted for believing that state governments are all-powerful in that they have the "authority" to enact whatever legislation is desired by the "people" by those states. No level of government--state, local or nation--has any authority from God to enact any legislation contrary to the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law no matter what "the people" may want. The "people" are not sovereign. Christ the King is Sovereign. "States' rights" must be subordinate to God's Sacred Rights as these have been taught by the Catholic Church, something that naturalists of the "libertarian" stripe reject out of hand

That having been noted, however, the statists reject subsidiarity in its entirety, believing that we, the citizens, must surrender our wills to what they seek to "impose" upon us without our uttering even a peep of opposition.

Janet Napolitano's "special report" mentions those who are concerned about a "single-issue" as possible sources of domestic terrorism, mentioning abortion and immigration as two of these "single issues" (mentioning also "perverse marriages" in another section of the "report"). As the taking of innocent human life is one of the four crimes that cry out to Heaven for vengeance (willful murder) and the issue of immigration, although certainly something that is a Natural Law right of a sovereign nation to control by means of just legislation, is one that can be debated by men of good will who have in mind the common temporal good undertaken in light of man's Last End, I am going to address Secretary Napolitano's mentioning of opposition to abortion as a source of "domestic terrorism."

There have been only a relative handful of violent attacks upon the persons of those involved in the surgical execution of innocent human beings under cover of the civil law. Seven people have been killed by those who have taken the law into their own hands and sought to serve as jury, judge and executioner of human beings who were not given the chance to repent of their crimes before they died. How can the murders of seven people be deemed any sort of rational rationale for deeming millions of ordinary Americans as worthy of being monitored because they are opposed to the mystical dismemberment of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the persons of innocent preborn babies in their mothers' wombs? The perpetrators of these crimes were apprehended and prosecuted. How many people were apprehended and prosecuted for the fifty-three murders of innocent human beings (and wounding of thousands of others) during the Rodney King riots in South Central Los Angeles between April 29, 1992, and May 4, 1992? Zero. To lump together those who oppose abortion with white supremacist organizations that foment true racial hatred and racialist theories that have been condemned by the Catholic Chuch (see Pope Pius XI's Mit Brennender Sorge, March 17, 1937) is to engage in the most reprehensible form of character assassination possible.

Consider this interesting information about murders that have taken place in work places other than abortuaries, compiled by an opponent of former Attorney General of the United States of America Janet Reno's "Violence Against Abortion Providers Conspiracy" VAAPCON) task force that operated under the authority of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1994 to 1996:

Oh, those horrible, violent prolifers! Why doesn't the FBI do something about them?

I guess putting "FI" (Full Investigation) priority on everybody from Feminists for Life to the National Conference of Catholic Bishops doesn't constitute doing anything, from an abortion advocates' perspective. Recently obtained files from the FBI's VAAPCON (Violence Against Abortion Providers Conspiracy) reveal just how seriously the Justice Department took abortionists' laments.

Now, don't get me wrong. I don't support violence against abortionists and their accomplices and hangers-on. But on the scale of workplace violence, abortion workers are in far less danger than workers in other fields:

"Workplaces with the highest rates of occupational homicide were taxicab establishments, liquor stores, gas stations, detective/protective services, justice/public order establishments (including courts, police protection establishments, legal counsel and prosecution establishments, correctional institutions, and fire protection establishments), grocery stores, jewelry stores, hotels/motels, and eating/drinking places (see Table 1). Taxicab establishments had the highest rate of occupational homicide--nearly 40 times the national average and more than three times the rate of liquor stores, which had the next highest rate."

    Preventing Homicide in the Workplace

Workplace Number Rate*
Taxicab 287 26.9
Liquor store 115 8.0
Gas station 304 5.6
Detective/protective 152 5.0
Justice/public order 640 3.4
Grocery store 806 3.2
Jewelry store 56 3.2
Hotel/motel 153 1.5
Eating/drinking place 734 1.5

And there are plenty of dangerous lines of work, as far as being murdered on the job goes:

Occupation Number Rate*
Taxi driver/chauffeur 289 15.1
Law enforcement 520 9.3
Hotel clerk 40 5.1
Gas station worker 164 4.5
Security guard 253 3.6
Stock handler/bagger 260 3.1
Store owner/manager 1,065 2.8
Bartender 84 2.1

I'm all for investigating and addressing the causes of workplace violence. But I think we should be addressing all workplace violence. Call me a right-wing zealot, but I think it's just as great a crime to gun down a taxi driver as it is to gun down an abortionist. And I think that threats to the lives of abortionists should be taken as seriously as threats to the lives of taxi drivers. But what the so-called Justice Department has been doing at the behest of the abortion industry goes well beyond any legitimate investigation of violence.

Prolifers have been complaining for years that the Justice Department has been treating them like criminals. In response, the Justice Department claimed that the prolifers' complaints were only some nutty conspiracy theory. Then the Justice Foundation filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit. What they found vindicated the prolifers.

The FBI, ATF, U.S. Postal Inspection, and U.S. Marshals, along with other Federal agencies, have been compiling dossiers on such notorious terrorist organizations as the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (oh, those bomb-toting Bishops!) and the National Women's Coalition for Life.

This intrusion into the privacy of peaceful citizens was dubbed "VAAPCON," for Violence Against Abortion Providers Conspiracy. VAAPCON collected detailed records on ordinary law-abiding citizens whose only "crime" is that they had bumper stickers that didn't sit well with the abortion-loving Clinton administration.

Investigation began in 1994, and reportedly went on into 1996. After the first few months of investigation found no evidence of a conspiracy of violence, the FBI wanted to drop the project. After 16 months of prying into the private lives of innocent citizens -- and finding no evidence of any conspiracy -- the project was supposedly finally scrapped. The database compiled on peaceful, law-abiding prolifers was done under an "FI" or "full investigation" label. The Justice Department, having already been caught lying about the investigation in the first place, is now insisting that they only compiled public records documents on prolifers. (FBI's VAAPCON Spies on Pro-Lifers)

To assert that those who are opposed to abortion need to be "monitored' as potential sources of "domestic terrorism" is itself an act of violence against reason and truth, something that comes to naturalists of the leftist stripe all too naturally. Truth be told, of course, those who support the systematic destruction of innocent human beings under cover of the civil law, both by chemical and surgical means, believe that anyone who is opposed to abortion for any reason--and most especially for religious reasons--is a "violent" offender against women's "reproductive rights." A Catholic mother of several children was threatened with arrest by F.B.I. agents assigned to the VAAPCON task force n 1995 as a "terrorist" because she wrote a letter to a baby-killing saying that she was praying for her conversion. That was considered to be an act of violence, an act of terrorism.

Well, yes, of course, prayer is considered to be an act of spiritual terrorism by the devil. It is no wonder, therefore, that those who do his bidding for him in the midst of the world are "terrorized" by the receipt of letters telling them that their conversion is being prayed for and/or by the receipt of Mass cards informing them that a true offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be made for their conversion and in reparation for their crimes. The devil hates the twin foundations of our interior lives, Holy Mass and Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary, and he will inspire his minions in the world with white-hot rage against the mere mention of the most perfect prayer, the Holy Mass, and the prayer given by Our Lady to Saint Dominic de Guzman.

Some of those who have commented on the outrage represented by Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment have focused on the fact that the administration of Caesar Obamus is violating both the letter and the spirit of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America by seeking to restrict the "free speech" of those who oppose the administration's policies, which are synonymous with the prevailing social evils of the day. Such an emphasis is mistaken as there is no such thing as an unfettered "right" of free speech, something that Pope Gregory XVI made abundantly clear in Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832:

This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs, though some repeat over and over again with the greatest impudence that some advantage accrues to religion from it. "But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error," as Augustine was wont to say. When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin. Then truly "the bottomless pit" is open from which John saw smoke ascending which obscured the sun, and out of which locusts flew forth to devastate the earth. Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws -- in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty.

It is precisely because of the First Commandment's embrace of religious indifferentism and religious liberty and "freedom of speech" and "freedom of press" that the "freedom of error" denounced by Saint Augustine has resulted in the death of so many souls. A nation that does not recognize the authority of the Catholic Church to interpose herself, albeit as an absolute last resort following the exhausting of her Indirect Power of teaching and preaching and exhortation, with its civil officials on matters that pertain to the good of souls.

There is absolutely no secular, naturalistic, inter-denominational, ideological, philosophical or non-denominational way to retard the triumph of statism as the logical consequence of the false premises upon which modern civil states, including that of the United States of America, are founded. The poisons contained in the First Amendment, poisons that are embraced by the lords of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, have now spread their venom to such an extent that many Americans accept whatever it is their secular saviors tell them, arrogating unto these mere vessels of clay what belongs to God alone as He has revealed Himself through His true Church: total obedience in a spirit of humility and docility.

The conditions in which we are living now at the beginning of the Twenty-first Century, which is also the beginning of the Third Millennium, are very similar to the conditions that prevailed in the first centuries of the Church as the Roman emperors and their minions sought to crush her by forcing her children to deny the true Faith in order to give their complete obeisance to them and their unjust and immoral decrees. The Catholics of the first centuries of the Church obeyed just laws and paid their taxes. They rendered respect to and prayed for the emperors as the precepts of filial piety contained in the Fourth Commandment required of them. Some even served in the military service of the emperor. They simply would not render unto the emperors what belonged to true God of Revelation: the worship that belongs to the true God of Revelation alone.

Here's a brief, thumbnail review (contained originally in Friends of Diocletian of the efforts of tyrants from the time of the Roman Empire to our present day to do what Janet Napolitano and the rest of the minions who serve Caesar Obamus desire to do: to silence believing Catholics into total submission in the name of "obedience" to the "master state:

Over thirteen million Catholics were killed by the brute force of Roman emperors between the time of Emperor Nero in 67 A.D. and the time of the Edict of Milan, issued by Emperor Constantine, in the year 313 A.D. Civil law was used as the basis of preventing the public worship of the true God and of attempting to force Catholics to pay homage to all manner of false gods and/or to engage in forbidden practices. The executions of these thirteen million Catholics was carried out, at least in most instances, after what passed for due process of law in the Roman empire. Even Roman citizens who had performed their military duty bravely in the service of the Roman Empire, such as Saint Eustacius, were put to death because they refused to participate in the worship of the false gods.

Over 72,000 Catholics were put to death in England under orders from King Henry VIII between the time of the Parliamentary Act of Supremacy in 1534 and the time of his death in 1547. These Catholics were killed under cover of the civil law because they refused to acknowledge the king, whom they recognized as the head of the English civil state, as the head of the Church in England, preferring death to denying their fealty to the Primacy of the Successor of Saint Peter. The civil law in England at the time of the Protestant Revolt was used to close monasteries and convents, thus forcing the poor who had farmed the lands attached thereto for generations upon generations to flee from their homes as the lands upon which they lived as tenant farmers was given away to Henry's political associates so as to guarantee their own personal stake in preventing a reconciliation with the Catholic Church. More Catholics were killed during the reign of Henry's daughter by his illict "wife," Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth I. These Catholics were hunted down by "priest-catchers," totured on the rack and then hanged, drawn and quarter after sham trials "convicted" them of "high treason" against the Crown.

The French Revolutionaries used civil law to subordinate the Catholic Church to the civil state by means of the Civil Constitution of the Clergy, July 12, 1790. This was an effort to silence any resistance to the anti-Theistic precepts of the revolution and to secure a "constitutional hierarchy" that would do what the "citizens" desired done. Even this "civil constitution of the clergy" was deemed insufficient by those who organized and implemented the Reign of Terror, wherein approximately 17,000 people, mostly faithful Catholics, were executed by means of the guillotine and another 40,000 or so were executed while awaiting their show-trials.

The Freemason Otto von Bismarck used the cover of civil law during his Kulturkampf (1871-1878) to engage in a persecution of the Catholic Church, starting with laws in 1871 that threatened Catholic bishops and priests with prison terms of up to two years if they dared to discuss politics from the pulpit. This was a means, obviously, of silencing opposition to his statism and social engineering (including the imposition of a mandatory retirement age and instituting a social security system so as to make the elderly retired wards of the civil state, thereby breaking the bond that obligated grown children to provide for their parents when they were unable to provide for themselves). Bismarck also had the Society of Jesus banned from Germany and required the civil state to inspect Catholic schools. Monasteries and convents were closed. Consecrated religious were displaced.

Pope Pius IX wrote of these injustices, each of which were conducted under cover of the civil law, in Bismarck's Germany, which mirrored those injustices taking place in Italy, which had just been "united" by the forces of Freemasonry following the fall of the Papal States in 1870, in Etsi Multa, November 21, 1873:

In addition to many grave injuries inflicted on the Catholic Church last year, the government of Prussia with harsh, iniquitous laws totally different from previous ones have subjected the whole institution and education of clerics to lay power. One can now legitimately ask how clerics are to be educated and formed for the priestly and pastoral life. Going further still, the government grants to the same lay power the right to bestow any office or ecclesiastical benefice and even the right to deprive sacred pastors of office and benefice.

Moreover so that the ecclesiastical government and the hierarchical order of subordination constituted by Christ Himself may be more quickly and fully subverted, these same laws impose many obstacles on bishops so that they cannot provide, through canonical censures and punishments, for the salvation of souls, the soundness of doctrine in Catholic schools, and the obedience due them from clerics. These same laws forbid bishops to do these things unless they are in accord with the wishes of the civil authority and the norms proposed by it. And so that nothing be lacking in the total oppression of the Catholic Church, a royal tribunal for ecclesiastical affairs has been instituted. Bishops and holy pastors can be summoned before it, both by private individuals and by public magistrates, so as to stand trial like criminals and be coerced in the exercise of their spiritual functions.

Existence of Church Threatened

Thus the holy Church of Christ, whose necessary and full freedom of which religion had repeatedly been guaranteed by public pacts and the highest princes, has in these same places been deprived of all its rights and exposed to hostile men. Its final extinction now threatens. For the new laws, to be sure, have as their intent its destruction.

No wonder, then, that the former religious tranquility has been gravely disturbed in that Empire by this kind of law and other plans and actions of the Prussian government most hostile to the Church. But who would wish to falsely cast the blame of this disturbance on the Catholics of the German Empire! For if they are faulted for not acquiesing in such laws in which they could not acquiesce with good conscience, for the same reason the apostles of Jesus Christ ant the martyrs, who preferred to undergo most dreadful tortures and death itself than to betray their duty and violate the rights of their most holy religion by obeying the commands of the princes who persecuted them, must also be faulted.

If no other laws than these of the civil authority existed and if they were of the highest order, it would be wrong to transgress them. If, moreover, these same civil laws constituted the norm of conscience, as some maintain both impiously and absurdly, the early martyrs and their followers would have been worthy of reprehension rather than honor and praise. Indeed it would have been against the laws and the wish of princes to hand down the Christian faith, propagate it, and found the Church. Nevertheless the faith teaches and human reason demonstrates that there is a twofold order of things. Two kinds of powers must be distinguished on earth-one natural that looks to the tranquility and secular business of human society; the other, whose origin is above nature, which is in charge of the Church of Christ, divinely instituted for the salvation and peace of souls. The offices of these two powers are wisely coordinated so that things which belong to God are returned to God and, because of God, those of Caesar to Caesar, who "for this reason is great because he is less than heaven for he belongs to Him whom heaven and all creatures belong."

From this divine command, to be sure, the Church has never turned aside. It always and everywhere attempts to inculcate in the faithful an inviolable obedience towards their supreme rulers and their rights, insofar as they are secular, and it has taught, with the Apostle, that they are rulers not for fear of good works but of evil, teaching the faithful to be subject not only because of fear, because the prince bears the sword to carry out his ire against him who has done evil, but also because of conscience because in his office he is a minister of God. However, this fear of princes the Church limits to evil acts, excluding the same totally from the observance of the divine law, being mindful of what blessed Peter taught the faithful; "May none of you suffer for being a murderer, a thief, a criminal or an informer, but if any of you should suffer for being a Christian, then he is not to be ashamed of it; let him glorify God in that name."

Since these things are so, you understand how sad We must have been when We read in the recent letter from the German Emperor the unexpected accusation against certain of his Catholic subjects, especially against the Catholic clergy, and bishops. The reason for this accusation is that they, fearing neither bonds nor tribulations and not placing any great value on their lives, refuse to obey the aforementioned laws. They protest with that same firmness shown before the passing of these laws. They pointed out their faults by serious, clear and most solid explanations which, with the approval of the whole Catholic world and even of some heterodox men, they delivered to the Prince, his administrators and the supreme council of the kingdom.

For the same reason now they are accused of treason, as if they were conspiring with those who strive to upset all orders of human society. No attention is paid to the excellent arguments in which they clearly attest their unbroken loyalty and obedience to the Prince and their lively devotion to their fatherland. Indeed We Ourselves are asked to exhort Catholics and holy pastors there to observe these laws; this would be equivalent to Our contributing to the oppression and dispersion of the flock of the Christ. However, supported by God, We are confident that the most serene Emperor, having more carefully weighed things, will reject the empty suspicion conceived against his most loyal subjects and will no longer allow their honor to be reviled with foul detraction. In addition, he will end the unmerited persecution against them. Moreover, We would have willingly passed over the imperial letter if it had not been published, against Our knowledge and in a most unusual fashion, by an official newspaper in Berlin. It was published together with other material written by Us, in which We appealed for justice from the Emperor for the Catholic Church in Prussia.

Harassing of the Church

What We have recounted so far is common knowledge. Monks and virgins devoted to God are deprived of the common liberty of ordinary citizens and ejected with enormous cruelty, Catholic schools are daily being taken away from the care of the Church, and sodalities for pious works and even seminaries are dissolved. Additionally, the liberty of evangelical preaching is interfered with, hindered, teaching religion in the native language is forbidden in certain parts of the kingdom. Curates are withdrawn from their parishes, and prelates themselves are deprived of revenues coerced in many ways, and frightened with threat of imprisonment. While Catholics are vexed with all kinds of harassment such as these, how can We possibly acquiesce to what is suggested and not invoke the religion of Jesus Christ and the truth?

Government Support for Heretics

Nor is this the limit of the injuries which are committed against the Catholic Church. In addition the Prussian and other governments of the German Empire openly support those recent heretics who call themselves Old Catholics. Their abuse of such a name would be plainly ridiculous if it were not for the fact that so many monstrous errors of this sect against the principal teachings of the Catholic faith, so many sacrileges in divine service and the administration of the sacraments, so many grave scandals, and so much ruin of souls redeemed by the blood of Christ did not force tears from Our eyes.

The Freemasons in Italy also persecuted the Catholic Church under cover of the civil law at the same time that the Kulturkampf was taking place in Germany. Religious houses were closed. Education was placed under the control of the civil state. Clerics such as Saint John Bosco were under regular suspicion for what was termed "anti-governmental" activities." Pope Leo XIII, writing in Etsi Nos, February 15, 1882, bewailed these conditions in his native Italy:

In the midst of the populations of Italy, which have always been so constant and steadfast in the faith of their fathers, the liberty of the Church is wounded on all sides; everyday efforts are redoubled in order to efface from the public institutions that Christian stamp and character which has always, and with good reason, been the seal of the glories of Italy. Religious houses suppressed, the goods of the Church confiscated, marriages contracted in despite of the laws and without the rites of the Church, the position of the religious authorities as to the education of the young utterly ignored -- in fine, a cruel and deplorable war without limit and without measure declared against the Apostolic See, a war on account of which the Church is weighed down by inexpressible suffering, and the Roman Pontiff finds himself reduced to extreme anguish. For, despoiled of his Civil Princedom, he has of necessity fallen into the hands of another Power.

More than this; Rome, the most august of Christian cities, is now a place laid open to all the enemies of the Church; profane novelties defile it; here and there, temples and schools devoted to heresy are to be found. It is even reported that this year it is about to receive the deputies and leaders of the sect which is most embittered against Catholicism, who have appointed this city as the place for their solemn meeting. The reasons which have determined their choice of such a meeting place are no secret; they desire by this outrageous provocation to glut the hatred which they nourish against the Church, and to bring their incendiary torches within reach of the Roman Pontificate by attacking it in its very seat.

The Church, without doubt, will in the end be triumphant and will baffle the impious conspiracies of men; but it is none the less admitted and certain that their designs aim at nothing less than the destruction of the whole system of the Church with its Head, and the abolition, if it were possible, of all religion.

For those who pretend to be friends of the honor of Italy to dream of such prospects would seem a thing incredible, for the ruin of the Catholic faith in Italy would dry up the source of the most precious of goods. If, in truth, the Christian religion has created for the nations the best guarantees for their prosperity, the sanctity of right and the guardianship of justice; if by her influence she has everywhere subdued headlong and hasty passions, she, the companion and protectress of all honesty, of all nobility, of all greatness; if she has everywhere summoned all classes and every member of society to meet in a lasting peace and in perfect harmony, Italy has received a richer share of these benefits than any other nation.

It is, in truth, the shame of too many persons that they dare to denounce the Church as dangerous to public safety and prosperity, and to regard the Roman Pontificate as the enemy of the greatness of the name of Italy. But the records of the past give the lie to such slanders and to absurd calumnies of a similar kind. It is to the Church and the Roman Pontiffs that Italy especially owes gratitude for having spread her glories in all lands, for never having allowed her to succumb under the repeated incursions of having for generations preserved in many ways a lawful amount of just and proper liberty, and for having enriched her cities with numerous and immortal monuments of science and of art. In truth it is not the least glory of the Roman Pontiffs that they have maintained united in a common faith the various provinces of Italy, so different in customs and in genius, and have kept them from most disastrous disagreements. Frequently, in times of trouble and calamity, the welfare of the State would have been in peril, had not the Roman Pontificate saved it by exercise of its lifegiving power.

And its influence will not be less beneficial in the future if the malice of men does not interfere and hinder its efficacy or stifle its liberty. This beneficial force, which is peculiar to Catholic institutions, because it flows from them as a natural consequence, is unchangeable and unceasing. Even as, for the salvation of souls, the Catholic religion embraces all countries without any limitations of time or space, so does it always and everywhere stand forth and present itself as the true friend of the civil power.

These great advantages are being lost, and are being followed by grave evils; for the enemies of Christian wisdom, be their rival pretensions what they may, are leading society to its ruin. Nothing can be more efficacious than their doctrines in the way of kindling in men's minds the flames of violence and of stirring up the most pernicious passions. In the sphere of science they are repudiating the heavenly lights of faith; and when once this torch is put out, the mind of men is usually carried away by errors, no longer sees the truth, and begins quietly to sink into the lowest depths of a base and shameful materialism. In the sphere of morals they are disdainfully rejecting the eternal and unchangeable reasoning, and are despising God -- the sovereign Legislator and supreme Avenger and when once these foundations are torn away no sufficient authority remains for law, and the regulation of life merely depends upon the good pleasure and free will of man. In society, the liberty without limit which they preach and pursue engenders license, and this license is very soon followed by the overthrow of order, the most fatal scourge of the public welfare. Of a truth, it is impossible to see society in a more pitiable or miserable state than in those places where such men and such doctrines as we have been describing have gained the upper hand even for a moment. Unless recent examples had furnished evidence it would have been difficult to believe that men, in a transport of furious and criminal boldness, could even have cast themselves into excesses of such a kind, and while retaining as if in mockery the name of liberty, could have given themselves over to "satutnalia" of conflagrations and murders. If Italy has not, up to the present time, experienced a similar reign of terror, we must attribute it first to the especial protection of God; but the fact must be also recognized -- to explain this preservation -- that the people of Italy -- the immense majority of whom are still faithful to the Catholic religion -- have never been able to be subdued by the vicious and shameful doctrines We have denounced. And it must be confessed that if the ramparts erected by religion begin to give way, Italy also will fall into the same abyss, in which the greatest and most flourishing nations have in past times lain prostrate as victims. Similar doctrines involve similar consequences, and since the germs are infected with the same poisons, it cannot be but that they should produce the same fruits.

Yes, those who reject the Social Reign of Christ the King must look to the government as the "true church," outside of which there is no secular salvation and without which no one can solve any of his personal problems. As the principle of non-contradiction teaches us that two mutually contradictory statements cannot be true simultaneously. There cannot be two two "churches" at the same time, which is why revolutionaries (Protestant, French, Bolshevik, Nazi, Mexican, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Sandinista) and their ideological cousins in liberalism and conservatism and libertarianism and other forms of naturalism embrace, albeit for different reasons, the heresy of the separation of Church and State and why the more radical among them must use the civil law to attempt to suppress the life and the mission of Holy Mother Church.

Even in the land where the heresy of "religious liberty" was born, the United States of America, efforts to suppress the true Faith were made on the state level now and again.

The State of Oregon, a den of Freemasonry which has championed "physician-assisted suicide" in recent years as a result of a voter initiative enacted into law by means of a popular referendum, became quite a laboratory to see how far the warfare against the Church could be taken. A voter initiative, sponsored by the Ku Klux Klan and the Oregon Scottish Rite Masons, was approved on November 7, 1922, to force all parents to send their children to public schools. A legal battle ensued, prompting the Supreme Court of the United States on June 1, 1925, to issue a decision in the case of Pierce v. Society of Sisters that invalidated the Oregon law, which would have become effective in 1926 had the Court not ruled against the law.

The voters of the State of North Dakota passed a initiative in 1948, sponsored by the Committee for Separation of Church and State, to forbid the wearing of religious garb by consecrated religious who taught in public schools. One Sister told me in 1989 that she was heartbroken as the power of the civil state forced her to take off her exterior sign of espousal to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. So much for the demigod of "states' right," my friends. So much for that demigod that is so precious to so many "conservatives" and "libertarians."

As can be seen, what is happening at present under Janet Napolitano is nothing new. Petty tyrants like her have tried to squelch opposition from believing Catholics from the time of her birth. Her "special report" on "right wing" extremism is to be taken very seriously as law enforcement officials in some states, including the State of Missouri, have already begun targeting vehicles with "proscribed" bumper stickers:

The MIAC [Missouri Information Analysis Center] report specifically describes supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists and instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties.

“Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) provides a public safety partnership consisting of local, state and federal agencies, as well as the public sector and private entities that will collect, evaluate, analyze, and disseminate information and intelligence to the agencies tasked with Homeland Security responsibilities in a timely, effective, and secure manner,” explains the MIAC website. “MIAC is the mechanism to collect incident reports of suspicious activities to be evaluated and analyzed in an effort to identify potential trends or patterns of terrorist or criminal operations within the state of Missouri. MIAC will also function as a vehicle for two-way communication between federal, state and local law enforcement community within our region.”

MIAC is part of the federal “fusion” effort now underway around the country. “As of February 2009, there were 58 fusion centers around the country. The Department has deployed 31 officers as of December 2008 and plans to have 70 professionals deployed by the end of 2009. The Department has provided more than $254 million from FY 2004-2007 to state and local governments to support the centers,” explains the Department of Homeland Security on its website. Missouri is mentioned as a participant in this federal “intelligence” effort.

Last month, the ACLU issued a news release highlighting the activity of a fusion center in Texas as the “latest example of inappropriate police intelligence operations targeting political, religious and social activists for investigation,” in particular “Muslim civil rights organizations and anti-war protest groups.”

The MIAC report does not concentrate on Muslim terrorists, but rather on the so-called “militia movement” and conflates it with supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, the so-called patriot movement and other political activist organizations opposed to the North American Union and the New World Order. The MIAC document is a classic guilt by association effort designed to demonize legitimate political activity that stands in opposition to the New World Order and its newly enshrined front man, Barack Obama.

In September of 2008, Missouri sheriffs and prosecutors organized truth squads to intimidate people opposed to Obama and threatened to arrest and prosecute anybody who ran “misleading television ads.” Missouri governor Matt Blunt eventually denounced the use of “police state tactics” on the part of the Obama-Biden campaign.

MIAC claims members of a “rightwing” militia movement organized in the 1990s — generally in response to the Oklahoma City bombing and the events at Waco — “continuously exploit world events in order to increase participation in their movements. Due to the current economical and political situation, a lush environment for militia activity has been created” and supposedly exploited by “constitutionalists” and “white supremacists,” the latter an oft-employed canard used to demonize activists as dangerous and potentially violent lunatics.

MIAC notes many of the political issues cited by the so-called patriot movement — the Ammunition Accountability Act, the impending economic collapse of the government, the possibility of a constitutional convention, the North American Union, Obama’s “Universal Service Program,” and the implementation of RFID, issues that are not limited to the patriot movement but are shared by a wide array of political activists.

The MIAC document includes a map of the North American Union not dissimilar from one released by NASCO, the North America SuperCorridor Coalition (see the NASCO map here).

The MIAC report is similar to one created by the Phoenix Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Joint Terrorism Task Force during the Clinton administration (see page one and page two of the document). The FBI document explicitly designates “defenders” of the Constitution as “right-wing extremists.” The MIAC report expands significantly on the earlier document.

In order to artificially heighten the perceived threat threshold, MIAC rolls in Christian Identity, white nationalism, “militant” anti-abortion activists, opposition to illegal immigration, and income tax resistance. MIAC deceptively blurs the lines between these disparate political ideologies and underscores the possibility for violence in a summary of the organizational structure of the militia movement and a section describing how members strive to train in “combat readiness.” (Secret State Police Report: Ron Paul, Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, Libertarians Are Terrorists.)

The police state is here. Make no mistake about it.

As much as I disagree with Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin's basic presuppositions in support of the Constitution that was written by men who believed that it was possible for men to organize themselves without reference to the Deposit of Faith that Our Lord has entrusted to His true Church and that it is possible for men to be virtuous on a consistent basis without belief in, access to and cooperation with Sanctifying Grace, none of these men, each of whom sees "trees" in the forest without realizing that the forest of statism exists because of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolt, is a terrorist. Only those who seek to impose statism by the use of coercive power would view critics of the government as "terrorists."

The true terrorists in this country--and other "civilized" nations are those who impose a true reign of terror against the innocent preborn by plying their bloody trade of baby-killing under cover of the civil law. Over fifty million babies have been butchered by the paid merchants of death whose bloodthirsty profession is protected by the likes of Janet Napolitano and her boss, Caesar Obamus. The very people who "protect" domestic terrorism (each of the three Homeland Security secretaries--the Catholic Tom Ridge, the Jew Michael Chertoff, and the Methodist Janet Napolitano) do not understand that they are making it more possible for international terrorists to wage attacks on the territory of the United States of America. Why should terrorists from abroad have any more respect for the inviolability of our lives when we impose a reign of terror upon the innocent preborn by surgical and chemical means?

To the likes of Janet Napolitano and Caesar Obamus, however, anyone who opposes abortion is a potential "domestic terrorist. I suppose that this would apply to the pagan Roman poet Juvenal, who hated Christians, when he wrote the following in the early Second Century A.D.

Poor women…endure the perils of childbirth, and all the troubles of nursing to which their lot condemns them; but how often does a gilded bed contain a woman that is lying in it? So great is the skill, so powerful the drugs, of the abortionist, paid to murder mankind within the womb. (Pagan Sources Opposed to Abortion)

Perhaps the likes of Janet Napolitano and Caesar Obamus consider that anyone who makes reference to the original Hippocratic Oath, authored by Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, as a "potential domestic terrorist" for agreeing with the text of the Oath, which proscribes abortion and euthanasia from reason alone unaided by the light of Divine Revelation:

I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

Were Juvenal and Hippocrates, pagans, mind you, Madame Secretary Napolitano, "domestic terrorists" in their own day?

Obviously, however, those who are intent upon imposing statism by the use of coercive power do not realize that they lose in the end, just as all other petty tyrants have lost, either in life or at the moment of their Particular Judgments. The calumnies of the modern tyrants who are the minions of Caesar Obamus are the same that Saint Augustine catalogued and refuted in The City of God, as Pope Leo XIII noted in Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885:

And yet a hackneyed reproach of old date is leveled against her, that the Church is opposed to the rightful aims of the civil government, and is wholly unable to afford help in spreading that welfare and progress which justly and naturally are sought after by every well-regulated State. From the very beginning Christians were harassed by slanderous accusations of this nature, and on that account were held up to hatred and execration, for being (so they were called) enemies of the Empire. The Christian religion was moreover commonly charged with being the cause of the calamities that so frequently befell the State, whereas, in very truth, just punishment was being awarded to guilty nations by an avenging God. This odious calumny, with most valid reason, nerved the genius and sharpened the pen of St. Augustine, who, notably in his treatise, "The City of God," set forth in so bright a light the worth of Christian wisdom in its relation to the public wealth that he seems not merely to have pleaded the cause of the Christians of his day, but to have refuted for all future times impeachments so grossly contrary to truth. The wicked proneness, however, to levy like charges and accusations has not been lulled to rest. Many, indeed, are they who have tried to work out a plan of civil society based on doctrines other than those approved by the Catholic Church. Nay, in these latter days a novel conception of law has begun here and there to gain increase and influence, the outcome, as it is maintained, of an age arrived at full stature, and the result of progressive liberty. But, though endeavors of various kinds have been ventured on, it is clear that no better mode has been devised for the building up and ruling the State than that which is the necessary growth of the teachings of the Gospel. We deem it, therefore, of the highest moment, and a strict duty of Our apostolic office, to contrast with the lessons taught by Christ the novel theories now advanced touching the State. By this means We cherish hope that the bright shining of the truth may scatter the mists of error and doubt, so that one and all may see clearly the imperious law of life which they are bound to follow and obey.

Statists such as Janet Napolitano and the other naturalist minions who serve Caesar Obamus accuse us of seeking to "impose" our "morality" upon others when it is they who are seeking to impose one objective evil after another as they seek to intimidate anyone and everyone who denounces their nefarious schemes, each of which is injurious to the common temporal good and ultimately to the eternal good of so many souls.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour never "imposed" Himself upon anyone during the years of His Public Ministry. People were free to walk away from Him as He invited them to follow Him.

Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For he that will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it. (Matthew 16: 24-25)

.Most did walk away from Him, especially after He had completed His Eucharistic Discourse as recorded in the Gospel of Saint John:

For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. These things he said, teaching in the synagogue, in Capharnaum.

Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? But Jesus, knowing in himself, that his disciples murmured at this, said to them: Doth this scandalize you? If then you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who he was, that would betray him.

And he said: Therefore did I say to you, that no man can come to me, unless it be given him by my Father. After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with him. Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away? And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we have believed and have known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

Jesus answered them: Have not I chosen you twelve; and one of you is a devil? Now he meant Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon: for this same was about to betray him, whereas he was one of the twelve. (John 6: 56-72)

The Catholic Faith is never imposed upon anyone. People accept it freely and realize the rewards, both temporal and eternal for doing so, or they reject it and suffer the consequences, both temporally and eternally. The Catholic Faith spread throughout the regions of the known world during the First Millennium without the use of any armed force. She spread as a result of the force of the Word Who was made Flesh and dwelt amongst us in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of God the Holy Ghost, producing fruits in the Middle Ages that were summarized by Pope Leo XIII in Immortale Dei:

Admirably, according to his wont, does St. Augustine, in many passages, enlarge upon the nature of these advantages; but nowhere more markedly and to the point than when he addresses the Catholic Church in the following words: "Thou dost teach and train children with much tenderness, young men with much vigor, old men with much gentleness; as the age not of the body alone, but of the mind of each requires. Women thou dost subject to their husbands in chaste and faithful obedience, not for the gratifying of their lust, but for bringing forth children, and for having a share in the family concerns. Thou dost set husbands over their wives, not that they may play false to the weaker sex, but according to the requirements of sincere affection. Thou dost subject children to their parents in a kind of free service, and dost establish parents over their children with a benign rule. . . Thou joinest together, not in society only, but in a sort of brotherhood, citizen with citizen, nation with nation, and the whole race of men, by reminding them of their common parentage. Thou teachest kings to look to the interests of their people, and dost admonish the people to be submissive to their kings. With all care dost thou teach all to whom honor is due, and affection, and reverence, and fear, consolation, and admonition and exhortation, and discipline, and reproach, and punishment. Thou showest that all these are not equally incumbent on all, but that charity is owing to all, and wrongdoing to none." And in another place, blaming the false wisdom of certain time-serving philosophers, he observes: "Let those who say that the teaching of Christ is hurtful to the State produce such armies as the maxims of Jesus have enjoined soldiers to bring into being; such governors of provinces; such husbands and wives; such parents and children; such masters and servants; such kings; such judges, and such payers and collectors of tribute, as the Christian teaching instructs them to become, and then let them dare to say that such teaching is hurtful to the State. Nay, rather will they hesitate to own that this discipline, if duly acted up to, is the very mainstay of the commonwealth."

There was once a time when States were governed by the philosophy of the Gospel. Then it was that the power and divine virtue of Christian wisdom had diffused itself throughout the laws, institutions, and morals of the people, permeating all ranks and relations of civil society. Then, too, the religion instituted by Jesus Christ, established firmly in befitting dignity, flourished everywhere, by the favor of princes and the legitimate protection of magistrates; and Church and State were happily united in concord and friendly interchange of good offices. The State, constituted in this wise, bore fruits important beyond all expectation, whose remembrance is still, and always will be, in renown, witnessed to as they are by countless proofs which can never be blotted out or ever obscured by any craft of any enemies. Christian Europe has subdued barbarous nations, and changed them from a savage to a civilized condition, from superstition to true worship. It victoriously rolled back the tide of Mohammedan conquest; retained the headship of civilization; stood forth in the front rank as the leader and teacher of all, in every branch of national culture; bestowed on the world the gift of true and many-sided liberty; and most wisely founded very numerous institutions for the solace of human suffering. And if we inquire how it was able to bring about so altered a condition of things, the answer is -- beyond all question, in large measure, through religion, under whose auspices so many great undertakings were set on foot, through whose aid they were brought to completion.

Naturalists such as Janet Napolitano and the other minions who serve Caesar Obamus, who believes that he "outranks" Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (see Ashamed of the NAME Above All Names), do not know true history. They do not know God as He has revealed Himself to us exclusively through His true Church. Inspired by the devil himself, these minions and their caesar believe that they are doing a service to society by seeking to eradicate all opposition to their schemes for the utopian world of Marxism-Leninism, which is why there is such a spirit of kinship between Caesar Obamus and Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez and Cuban dictator Raul Castro.

In truth, however, we must understand that Janet Napolitano and the other minions who serve Caesar Obamus are doing us a service by preparing us for the persecutions that are ahead. We have nothing at all to fear from them. Nothing at all. Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ explained this to us very clearly:

Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles: But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak. For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.

The brother also shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the son: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and shall put them to death. And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved. And when they shall persecute you in this city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you shall not finish all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man come. The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the goodman of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?

Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known. That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops. And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows. Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven. But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven. Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man's enemies shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it. He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. (Matthew 10: 16-40.)

We must rejoice that we are living in a time of persecution and calumny. We are persecuted and calumniated by the lords of Modernity in civil authority for refusing to deny Christ the King before men. We are persecuted and calumniated by the lords of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism for adhering to the perennial teaching of the Catholic Church, including the Social Reign of Christ the King. Deo gratias! Deo gratias! Deo gratias!

Yes, Deo gratias! God has known from all eternity that we would be alive in these troubling times. Indeed, He has willed from all eternity that we would be alive in these troubling times, which are the times that can make saints of those who are willing to suffer and to suffer well for the sake of the Church as His consecrated slaves through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. We must remember at all times that the graces won for us by the shedding of every single drop of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces, are sufficient for us to deal with each of the crosses--social, ecclesiastical and personal--we are called to bear each day our our lives.

Mindful of the fact that we must make reparation for our sins, which are more responsible than we realize for the problems facing the Church Militant on earth and the world-at-large, on a constant basis, especially by praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit, we must pray each day for the conversion of the civic officials who seek to persecute and calumniate us. Our Lord has commanded us to pray for our enemies. We had better do so if we want to save our own souls!

You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy. But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.

For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? do not even the publicans this? And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this? Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5: 43-48.)

His Excellency Bishop Daniel L. Dolan preached yesterday, Monday, April 20, 2009, about Blessed James Bell, a man who was ordained to the priesthood during the five year reign of Queen Mary, the daughter of King Henry VIII by his true wife, Catherine of Aragon. Father Bell apostatized, however, when Queen Mary's half-sister, Queen Elizabeth I. The story of Blessed James Bell, who was martyred 425 years ago yesterday, that is, on April 20, 1884, should us with a great deal of inspiration in our troubling times as we deal with persecutors in the civil state and apostates aplenty in the counterfeit church of conciliarism:

Priest and martyr, b. at Warrington in Lancashire, England, probably about 1520; d. 20 April, 1584. For the little known of him we depend on the account published four years after his death by Bridgewater in his "Concertatio" (1588), and derived from a manuscript which was kept at Douay when Challoner wrote his "Missionary Priests" in 1741, and is now in the Westminster Diocesan Archives. A few further details were collected by Challoner, and others are supplied by the State Papers. Having studied at Oxford he was ordained priest in Mary's reign, but unfortunately conformed to the established Church under Elizabeth, and according to the Douay manuscript "ministered their bare few sacraments about 20 years in diverse places of England". Finally deterred by conscience from the cure of souls and reduced to destitution, he sought a small readership as a bare subsistence. To obtain this he approached the patron's wife, a Catholic lady, who induced him to be reconciled to the Church. After some time he was allowed to resume priestly functions, and for two years devoted himself to arduous missionary labours. He was at length apprehended (17 January 1583-84) and, having confessed his priesthood, was arraigned at Manchester Quarter-Sessions held during the same month, and sent for trial at Lancaster Assizes in March. When condemned and sentenced he said to the Judge: "I beg your Lordship would add to the sentence that my lips and the tops of my fingers may be cut off, for having sworn and subscribed to the articles of heretics contrary both to my conscience and to God's Truth". He spent that night in prayer and on the following day was hanged and quartered together with Ven. John Finch, a layman, 20 April, 1584. (James Bell)

The Catholic lady who was responsible for Father James Bell's conversion back to the Catholic Faith from the apostate Anglican sect told him that it was necessary for him to go to Confession. She was very direct with him. She did not mince any words. He listened to her. He went to confession. And when the judge who sentence him to be hanged, drawn and quartered told him that he, Father Bell, was there in his courtroom because of treason, Father Bell responded by saying, "I am here because I went to Confession." It is never an act of treason to confess the Catholic Faith and to recognize that our allegiance to Christ the King comes before any and all other allegiances at all times without any exception whatsoever.

May we follow Blessed James Bell's example by being assiduous in the use of the Sacred Tribunal of Penance so that our souls, cleansed from the guilt of even Venial Sins and filled with more and more Sanctifying Grace, will be more ready to suffer willingly and happily for the restoration of the Church Militant on earth and the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King in the world as we protect ourselves with the shield of the Brown Scapular and use Our Lady's weapon of her Most Holy Rosary to protect us unto eternity from the minions of Caesar Obamus in the world and the lies and traps of Dr. Ratzinger in the counterfeit church of conciliarism
