Republished: Saint Joseph, Our Friend and Protector

Today, of course, is the great Feast of Saint Joseph, the Chaste Spouse of Our Lady, the just and silent man of the House of David.

Saint Joseph denied himself his biological fatherhood in order to serve as the ever-virginal spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the most loving foster-father to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In him, Saint Joseph, is to be found every virtue for a husband and father to imitate: patience, charity, forbearance in all difficulties, fortitude, perseverance, temperance, and total self-abnegation. Those of us who are husbands and fathers must learn to be more silent, to learn to be more loving, to learn to be more patient, to learn to be more meek, to learn to be ever-ready to worker harder and harder at our life's work so as to help our wives and our children to live as redeemed creatures here below in order to know eternal happiness hereafter in Heaven.

Saint Joseph is the model of home life and the patron of artisans, the protector of widows and orphans, the patron of those who are in danger of death. May we invoke his patronage each day after we invoke that of his Most Chaste Spouse, Our Lady, and never be slow to turn to him in our spiritual and temporal needs:

"O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O thou Saint Joseph, do assist me by thy powerful intercession, and obtain for me from thy divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee, and Jesus asleep in thy arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me. Amen!"

A blessed Feast of Saint Joseph to you all!

Yes, the next article is close to being completed. Another article, which will take aim once again at the hapless Willard Mitt Romney, will follow shortly thereafter. Even though I am not commenting much about the ongoing farce of naturalism, it is nevertheless opportune to reiterate a few points about the ultimate "flip flopping flop flipper" who was partly pro-life/partly pro-abortion before becoming completely pro-abortion for thirty-four years before flipping back again to taking the partly pro-life/partly pro-abortion position once again. This is the moral voice of the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist "right." (Much of the information in the Romney commentary will come from "Without Any Rational Foundation," which was published on this site on October 24, 2012, the Feast of Saint Raphael the Archangel. (I am sorry, but hyperlinks cannot be inserted in summaries that serve as introductions to these articles.)

Seven Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Passiontide, 2016

Unfathomable. Just unfathomable

Only a handful of genuine mystics and truly gifted spiritual masters have been able to comprehend the unfathomable mysteries of grief that overwhelmed the fairest creature of our race, Our Lady, as those Seven Swords of Sorrow were plunged through and through her Immaculate Heart.

We sin so casually, so thoughtlessly, so repeatedly, rarely giving a moment’s worth of a meditation to how our least Venial Sins caused Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to suffer unspeakable horrors during His Passion and Death, horrors that penetrated the Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother as she, conceived without any stain of Original or Actual Sin, suffered in a perfect communion of Hearts with Him.

It cannot be that way with us from this day forward. We are on the cusp of Holy Week, ending now the first week in Passiontide, Passion Week. We must enter deep into the mysteries of our salvation, which was wrought for us by the perfect obedience of the Word made Flesh in Our Lady’s Virginal and Immaculate Womb to the Will of His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Father. We must quit our sins once and for all, recognizing how they caused the God-Man and His Most Blessed Mother to suffer, how they wound our own souls, which have been purchased by the shedding of every single drop of the Divine Redeemer’s Most Precious Blood, and how they have brought great sorrow into the Heart out of which was formed Our Redeemer’s Most Sacred Heart. No more sin. No more joking about sin. No more dismissiveness about the gravity of sin. We must repent and amend our lives as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Lady brought forth her Divine Son painlessly and miraculously. She brought us forth in great pain as the adopted children of the Living God as she stood so valiantly by the foot of the Cross on Good Friday. She stands by the foot of her Divine Son’s Most Holy Cross in every true offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by a true bishop or a true priest. We must stand by her each day at Holy Mass as we make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world with every beat of our hearts, making sure as well to pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

Today, March 18, 2016, is the thirty-fourth anniversary of the death of my mother, Mrs. Norma Florence Red Fox Droleskey, at the then-named Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of sixty-one years, twelve days from stomach and esophageal cancer. Please pray for her immortal soul.

My mother was born on March 6, 1921, in Kansas City, Missouri, as Maxine Coomer to a woman named Ruth Coomer, who put my mother and her twin brother, Max Coomer, up for adoption shortly after their birth. The twins were adopted by a vaudevillian and silent-film performer whose stage name was “Chief William Red Fox” (real name, William Humes) and his wife Maude, and that is when the children were named after The Chief’s siblings, Norma and Louis, who died in infancy. It is hard to believe that she has been dead for thirty-four years and that I am now three years, three months, twenty-three days older than she was when she died. How the years just fly by.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Today is also the anniversaries of the deaths of Father Daniel Johnson (2007) and Mrs. Theresa Colgan (2008).

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Ah, lest I forget, prayers are requested for one of my many legions of former friends who turns sixty-five today. I pray for each of the people God’s Holy Providence has placed in my life, praying especially for a good, happy reunion in eternity.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

Saint Cyril of Jerusalem, pray for us.

As promised about thirty minutes ago now, I have now uploaded two video presentations.

The first, which is uploaded, is thirty minutes of length: A Catholic Antidote to Electoral Madness, part one.

The second is about fifty-five minutes long. I decided not to break up the continuity of the second recording once I realized that the YouCam software, which has an odd way of filming a reverse (or mirror) image that distorts reality, permitted me to go longer than thirty minutes: A Catholic Antidote to Electoral Madness, part two.

The subject matter of the videos?

Simply to reinforce what has been written on this site endlessly, namely, that it is impossible to fight naturalism with naturalism. One can only fight naturalism and all of its attendant evils with Catholicism. In other words, the videos are not fit viewing for those who have permitted themselves to become agitated the theater of the absurd that is an American electoral campaign.

There is nothing “original” in these videos, and for that I am thankful. That is, I am simply intend to speak to the truth of situation as seen through the eyes of Faith, recognizing that one of the instruments of the adversary is to so agitate us by apparent conflicts between “greater” and “lesser evils” that we become bogged down in the minutiae of moment without realizing the Sisyphus-like futility of using the adversary’s tools to fight his handiwork.

Revised: Saint Patrick and the "C" Word

This is a slightly revised tribute to our glorious Saint Patrick, Bishop and Confessor, whose work in behalf of the conversion of the Irish clans from paganism stands in very sharp contrast to the obeisance that has been paid by the conciliar “popes” and their “bishops” to every false religion and pagan superstition imaginable.

It was to wipe out paganism that Saint Patrick spent his life as a missionary to the Emerald Isle, that land of Saints and Scholars which has fallen back into paganism in no small measure because of the false doctrines and sacramental barrenness of the liturgical rites of the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

Saint Patrick stands ready to convert each one of us away from our own sins if only we beg his intercession to help make us saints, especially now during Passiontide.

We are privileged to have a relic of Saint Patrick that is venerated each night before sleep. This relic was given to us most unexpectedly by a reader some years ago now, perhaps as long as eight or nine years ago. Please be assured that we will include the intentions of each one of our readers in mind as venerate this relic of Saint Patrick this evening.

A blessed Feast of Saint Patrick to you all!

Oh, yes, I am in the process of uploading two video presentations. The first, which is uploaded, is thirty minutes of length. The second is about fifty-five minutes long. Links to the two videos will be provided in a special update in about an hour.

An original article should appear tomorrow, March 18, 2016, in addition to a revised reflection on the Feast of the Seven Dolors of Our Lady in Passiontide.

What Part of It's Christ or Chaos Is Hard to Understand?

Although a video to be recorded at some point this week will attempt to provide some Catholic commentary on the specifics of the madness caused by the current election cycle, which is enveloping so many Catholics in the midst of Passiontide, this commentary is a reminder that chaos must reign in a world absent the Social Reign of Christ the King.

What part of this is hard to understand and accept?

Oh well, it is commentaries such as this one that depresses both the viewership of and the support given to this site.

Too bad.

By the way, the ultrasound will be done about twelve hours after the posting of this brief commentary. Oremus!

Passiontide, 2016

One of the recurring themes in my writing is the obligation each of us has as a Catholic to forgive others as we have been forgiven so freely and so readily by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ acting through an alter Christus in the Sacred Tribunal Penance. There is nothing that anyone can do to us, say about us or cause us to suffer, whether emotionally or physically, that is the equal of what one of our least Venial Sins caused the God-Man to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death as the Fourth through Seven Swords of Sorrow pierced the Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother. If He forgives us recidivist sinners, steeped in the spiritual mediocrity of lukewarmness, so readily and so frequently, who are we to hesitate for a moment to forgive others anything and everything, whether real or imagined or exaggerated, that they have have said about us or done to us?

Our Lord entered His Passion so as to redeem us and thus to make it possible for us to know His forgiveness, first in the Baptismal font and then in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance (and, for our Venial Sins, every time a priest administers Absolution following the recitation of the Confiteor in the offering of Holy Mass). We must make good use of this Passiontide to be more forgiving as we seek out the mercy of the Divine Redeemer through the ministrations of a true priest acting in persona Christi in the confesional.

As a sinner who has been forgiven much in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance, I have no energy at all (Deo gratias!) for nursing petty grudges and stewing in my juices about the judgments of others. Our sins imposed an unjust judgment on God in the very Flesh. It is good for us to suffer humiliation and rejection and calumny and scorn and derision. Very good for us. The more we suffer with love and gratitude is the more that we can unite ourselves to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. And even if we are the victims of real injustices and calumnies, so what? So what? Everything gets revealed on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead. Each of the just will be reconciled one to the other at that time. That happy reconciliation then can only take place, however, if we forgive others from our hearts in the here and now of this passing, mortal vale of tears!

Let’s make this the best Passiontide of our lives, grateful to Almighty God that He has brought us to the beginning of yet another Passiontide, uncertain though we may be as to we will live to see Easter Sunday in this passing, mortal vale of tears just thirteen days from now on Sunday, March 27, 2016.

There will be a new entry on this site tomorrow. It was simply impossible after the emergency room visit late Saturday evening that stretched into early yesterday morning to complete my next article. Suffice it for the moment to note that it is interesting to see all of the understandable anger about political and corporate elites that many of those supporting the presidential candidacy of Donald J. Trump are expressing, an anger on the natural level about problems that are the direct result of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King. How sad it is that very few people are in the lest bit upset about the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King, perhaps even fewer yet who are in the least bit upset about the heresies, apostasies, blasphemies, sacrileges, and various and sundry pastoral celebrations of paganism and still by the conciliar "popes" and their "bishops" in the past fifty-seven years, four and one-half months.

A new Donations page was created yesterday afternoon. Please do respond if your means permit you to do so. Thank you.

Revised: Advice to Shepherds, Advice to Us All

Today is the Feast of Pope Saint Gregory the Great and the Commemoration of Saturday in the Fourth Week of Lent.

A slightly revised version of a reflection on Pope Saint Gregory the Great that was written six years ago is offered to the readership today. May we pray to the illustrious Pope Saint Gregory the Great for the restoration of a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter.

The hour is too late for me to write a protracted commentary on the cancellation of the rally for Donald Trump that was to be held at the campus of University of Illinois-Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

Suffice it for the moment, however, to note that we are witnessing what must happen in a world awash with error and steeped in the sin and its celebration. Error must lead to division and conflict, which will erupt into open violence over the course of time.

We are simply getting a “sneak preview” of what the world is going to look like in a post-Obama presidency regardless of who succeeds him on January 20, 2017. Anything not to the liking of “community organizers” will be deemed as “racist” or “bigoted” or “hateful.” Groups that the financial backing of billionaire agitators such as George Soros as others will make sure that any and all opposition to what is deemed to be “good” by those steeped in error and evil is delegitimized while tactics of rank intimidation are employed to shut down all such opposition once and for all.

Welcome to the brave new world. Welcome to what must happen when men and their nations do not yoke themselves to the standard of Christ the King’s Holy Cross, which is the only true standard of human liberty, as It must be held high by Holy Mother Church.

We are eyewitnesses to a reversion of the world to the conditions that existed during the first centuries of Holy Mother Church when eleven million Catholics were martyred at the commands of various Roman emperors and their minions. There are some differences between the situation of the Church in her infancy and now as she is in her mystical burial, the chief of which is the fact that what appears to be the Catholic Church (but is in fact her counterfeit ape) is in the control of agents of One World Governance, naturalists who use all manner of intimidation to silence believing Catholics from speaking out in opposition to the embrace of sin in the name of “mercy” and error in the name of “encounter.”

Let us pray to Pope Saint Gregory the Great for an end to the papal vacancy and that a true pope will indeed fulfill Our Lady’s Fatima Message for the collegial consecration to her Immaculate Heart, thereby ceasing the spread of the errors of Russia that are metastasizing open before our very eyes right here in the “free” United States of America.

Remember this and remember well: you cannot fight naturalism and its attendant evils with any kind of naturalism. You can fight naturalism and its attendant evils only with Catholicism, which is the one and only true foundation of order within the souls of men and thus in their nations. Accept and believe in no substitutes. There are no shortcuts. It really is Christ or Chaos in the world. Behold the chaos that reigns at present in the absence of Our Divine King as the ruler of men and their nations.

Still Selling The Rope After All These Years, part two

Part one of this commentary was published about a month ago. Intervening events have delayed its publication.

The concluding part of “Still Selling the Rope After All These Years” focuses on Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s desire to visit Red China, the price of which will be to complete Joseph Alois Ratzinger/Benedict XVI’s sellout of the Catholics in Red China who have suffered in the underground for the attempts to be faithful to what have thought to be true popes.

Now, as the need is urgent, I will spend a bit of time later today creating a “Donations” page, wanting also at this juncture to express publicly my gratitude to the five people who have responded thus far to the brief note that appeared a few days ago.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Women Priests Are No Longer Just the Stuff of Fantasies

As noted in the text of today’s commentary, “women priests” in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism are just a matter of time. It is “when,” not “if.”

As our wireless internet connection has been spotty last night and early this morning, suffice it to say that this commentary deals with two news items, one from January and the other from this month that indicate “women priests” in the counterfeit church of conciliarism are no longer the stuff of fantasies. It is just a matter of when, not if.

Republished: Understood by God Alone

This article in honor of Saint John of God, whose feast is celebrated today, was written six years ago now. A lot of hard work went into its completion. I believe it to be one a piece that will give great consolation to those who have not as of yet read it.

Saint John of God was little understood during his life. It was the case that even his longtime spiritual director, Saint John of Avila, who knew him fairly well, did not understand his decisions. Saint John of God suffered from all manner of slanders and even beatings in his life. He suffered slanders even up to the point of his own death. It was enough for him to be understood by God. It should be enough for us as well, especially during this time of apostasy and betrayal when so many of us are misunderstood and castigated by relatives and friends and acquaintances as being "outside of the Church" for our refusal to make any concessions to conciliarism or its false shepherds. We should be grateful that we are as misunderstood and hated and calumniated as was Saint John of God!

Although the entirety of yesterday, noting the exceptions caused by a few phone calls, was spent trying to complete the next original article, it is now well past midnight on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, and the need to get a bit of rest so as not to worsen the phlebitis from which I am suffering at the moment requires me to continue work on it later today. The article, which covers some developments in the fantasy world of conciliarism, is turning out to be very long. I hope that it makes a contribution to the readres of this site.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint John of God, pray for us.
