Jorge Keeps Moving the Goalposts

To paraphrase the thirty-seventh President of the United States of America, the late Richard Milhous Nixon, let me make it perfectly clear that I am not now nor have even been a fan of any sport other than baseball, and this means that games with “goalposts” of one kind or another (e.g., football, Lacrosse, hockey, polo, field hockey, rugby, soccer) have never interested me in the slightest. I do know, however, that there is an old phrase that I find very appropriate for the purposes of this brief commentary: “moving the goalposts.”

The conciliar revolutionaries have been “moving the goalposts” since the time that the obese Rosicrucian, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, walked out on the balcony of the Basilica of Saint Peter on October 28, 1958, the Feast of Saints Simon and Jude. That is, the conciliar revolutionaries have labored feverishly to accustom Catholics to constant change as a normal feature of Catholic doctrinal, liturgical, moral and pastoral life. The results are plain to behold. Most Catholics today have little or no familiarity with the truths of the Holy Faith. As a prominent monsignor, now ceased, Monsignor Eugene V. Clark, said at a conference in the City of New York thirty years ago, believing Catholics are speaking “Swahili to most Catholics and non-Catholics alike.”

As an illustration of this point, there was a time fourteen and one-half years ago that I received any angry e-mail from the editor of the undergraduate newspaper at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, concerning an article that I written for The Remnant that criticized the so-called “Queer Film Festival” that was being held at my M.A. alma mater. The man was aghast at my calling the sin of Sodom as one of the four sins that crying out to Heaven for vengeance, saying that he had never heard of such a thing before. The appendix below provides the documentation of the exchanges I had with officials at The Observer that demonstrate the utter lack of any knowledge about the Catholic Faith possessed by young Catholics at a once proudly Catholic university named by the Fathers of the Congregation of the Holy Cross in honor of Our Lady herself. (See the appendix at the end of Our Lady Does Not Honor Pro-Aborts for details.)

Only a handful of Catholics pushed back against the gradual erosion of the sensus Catholicus as the conciliar revolutionaries keep “moving the goalposts” to change what Catholics believed was acceptable according the “teaching” of the entity that represented itself falsely as the Catholic Church. Efforts in this regard had begun, of course, even before Roncalli’s emergence as the first in the current line of antipopes, especially as liturgical changes in the 1950s started the process of preparing Catholics for the regime of doctrinal, moral and pastoral changes that would commence on October 28, 1958, and is still ongoing at this time. (An excellent series on this hijacking was written by Dr. Carol A. Byrne, who is very much opposed to sedevacantism, from 2014 to 2017. I highly recommend this series as its documentation is vast, including testimony from those close to Pope Saint Pius X that the intentions of Dom Lambert Beaudoin and, subsequently, Annibale Bugnini, C.M., had nothing to do with those of the great foe of Modernism, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, who died on August 20, 2014. For one of these articles, please see The Start of The New Liturgical Movement. One can follow the “Continued” links at the end of this article—and each subsequent one, numbering forty-five in total, to read the entire series, which is well worth reading.) Those efforts, of course, have accelerated since the close of the “Second” Vatican Council on December 8, 1965, and they have been extraordinarily successful in breaking down the sensus Catholics of most older Catholics and in deforming three generations of Catholics into believing that conciliarism and its condemned teachings and practices represents the Catholic Faith. It does not.

As noted so many times before on this website, the conciliar revolutionaries long ago accustomed Catholics to their regime of endless change. Consider just a few of the ways in which believing Catholics have been coopted by the conciliar revolution and/or have said next-to-nothing about as Catholic teaching has been “changed” and/or denied outright in the past nearly sixty years, using the revisions to the Missale Romanum as it existed at the time of the death of Pope Pius XII, which had incorporated the aforementioned Bugnini-inspired chnges, by Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli/John XXIII and by Giovanni Battista Enrico Antonio Maria Montini/Paul the Sick to accustom the faithful for the blitzkrieg of liturgical, doctrinal, moral and pastoral changes that they were planning to implement.

The nature and the extent of the liturgical changes that went into effect with the implementation of Montini/Paul VI's Ordo Missaeon the First Sunday of Advent in 1964 were bound to—and did in fact—bewilder at least a few ordinary Catholics. This is why the following announcement was inserted into the parish bulletin of Saint Matthew's Church in Norwood, Ohio, a facility that is now Immaculate Conception Church, which operates today under the auspices of the Society of Saint Pius V, on November 29, 1964, to tell the sheep just to do what they were told as a revolution unfolded before their very eyes and with their own "full, active and conscious participation:"

Today is the First Sunday of Advent and the beginning of the Church's new liturgical year. Today we begin our "New Liturgy". Beginning today many parts of Holy Mass will be said in English. We ask each of you to do your very best to join the priest in the prayers of the Mass. Leaflets with the official text of these prayers were given most of your last Sunday. (For those of you who were unable to obtain your copies last Sunday, you may obtain one at the bulletin stands today.) For the Masses with singing (including the 9:45 a.m. High Mass), you are asked to use the cards found in the pews. Kindly stand, sit and kneel, according to the directions on your leaflet or the card. At the Masses today, seminarians will be on hand to help and guide you in this new participation. We wish to thank Msgr. Schneider, Rector of Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, for his kindness in sending us his students; and also the young men themselves for their generosity in helping us. We know that it will take a while (perhaps even months) before we have this new method of participating in Holy Mass perfected; we earnestly ask each one to cooperate loyally and faithfully to the best of his or her ability to make the public worship of God in St. Matthew Parish a true and worthy "sacrifice of praise." [Historical note: the Mount Saint Mary's Seminary referred to in the bulletin was known as Mount Saint Mary's Seminary of the West, located in Norwood, Ohio.]

Most of the sheep (yours truly quite included, thank you very much) went "baa, baa" as these changes presaged the onslaught of false doctrines that were continuing to flow out of the "Second" Vatican Council at that time and that have been unceasing since its close on December 8, 1965, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Most of sheep (including yours truly for a long period of time) even said "baa, baa" or "blah, blah" or "yuk, yuk, things will get better one day" as conciliar revolutionaries unleashed their "teaching," which has included, among other things not mentioned below, the following:

  1. The claim that dogmatic truth can be understood in different ways at different times as the vagaries of historical circumstances and the limits of human speech to express the meaning of dogma accurately require constant re-evaluation. This is nothing other than Modernism’s dogmatic evolutionism, the concept of which has been condemned by Pope Pius IX (Syllabus of Errors, December 8, 1864; Vatican Council, Session III: Dogmatic Constitution on the Catholic Faith, Chapter 4, On Faith and Reason, April 24, 1870; Pope Saint Pius X, Lamentabili Sane, July 1, 1907; Pascendi Dominici Gregis, September 8. 1907; Praestentia Scripturae, November 18, 1907, and The Oath Against Modernism, September 1, 1910, and by Pope Pius XII in Humani Generis, August 12, 1950.)
  2. The belief that the Church of Christ “subsists” in the Catholic Church but is not limited to her. Contrary to the very Divine Constitution of the Church and condemned through her history, most recently by: the Vatican Council, Session IV, Dogmatic Constitution of the Church; Pope Leo XIII, Praeclara Gratulationis Publicae, June 29, 1894, Satis Cognitum, June 29, 1896; Pope Pius XI, Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis, June 29, 1943.)
  3. The belief that Protestant and other non-Catholic Christian denominations have elements and truth and sanctification. Condemned as in number 2.
  4. The belief that it is necessary to conduct inter-religious “dialogue” to effect that which is said to be “lacking,” namely, Christian unity. Heretical, condemned in the Syllabus of Errors, Praeclara Gratulationis Publicae, Satis Cogntium, and by Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1929.
  5. The belief that “inter-religious prayer services” with non-Catholics is pleasing to God. Contrary to Sacred Scripture, Apostolic Tradition and condemned by Pope Pius XI in Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1928.
  6. The belief the Judaism is a valid religion that enjoys the favor of the true God of Divine Revelation, the Most Blessed Trinity, and that the Mosaic Covenant has never been abolished. Heretical, contrary to the words of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the consistent teaching of the Church Fathers and condemned by Pope Eugene IV and the Council of Florence in Cantate Domino, February 4, 1442, and most recently by Pope Pius XII in Mystici Corporis, June 29, 1943.)
  7. The teaching that false religions have a “right from God” to propagate themselves and to be given ample public space to spread their errors in the name of “religious liberty.” Heretical. Contrary to the First Commandment and condemned consistently by our true popes since its spread in the late-Eighteenth Century. Among these condemnations have been: Pope Pius VI, Brief Quod aliquantum, March 10, 1791; Religious Liberty, a “Monstrous Right", Pope Pius VII, Post Tam Diuturnas; April 29, 1814, POST TAM DIUTURNAS, Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832; Pope Pius IX, The Syllabus of Errors, and Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864; Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885, and Libertas Praestantissimum, June 20, 1888; Pope Pius XII, Ci Riesce, December 6, 1953, who reiterated that error has no rights but that toleration, which had been discussed by Pope Leo XIII in Libertas Praestantissimum, is necessary in today’s world to advance the common good.
  8. The belief in separation of church and state. Heretical. Condemned by Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832; Pope Pius IX, Pope Pius IX, The Syllabus of Errors, and Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864; Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885, Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900, A Review of His Pontificate, March 19, 1902; Pope Saint Pius X, Vehementer Nos, February 11, 1906, Pascendi Dominci Gregis, September 8, 1907, and Iamdudum, May 24, 1911; Pope Benedict XVI, Ad Beatissimi Apostolorum. November 1, 1914; and Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio. December 23, 1922, Quas Primas, December 11, 1925, and Mit Brennender Sorge, March 17, 1937.)
  9. Episcopal collegiality. Contrary to the Divine Constitution of Holy Mother Church. The primacy of the Roman Pontiff was reiterated dogmatically in Pope Pius IX, Vatican Council, First Dogmatic Constitution of the Church of Christ, July 18, 1870.
  10. The inversion of the ends of marriage and “natural family planning.” Contrary to Divine Revelation and the Natural Law and specifically condemned by Pope Pius XII on April 1, 1944, and in his Address to Italian Midwives on the Nature of Their Profession, October 29, 1951.)

Mind you, this is just a partial listing of all that believing Catholics have had to accept as the conciliar revolutionaries keep pushing the envelope, expanding the boundaries and moving the goalposts to get to the point that rank pantheism will be accepted as Catholicism. Most Catholics in the conciliar structures, however, have swallowed all the doctrinal rubbish, all the burning of incense to false idols in temples of false worship, all the elegies of praise in behalf of religious liberty and separation of Church and state, all the liturgical outrages and abominations, all the “papal” warnings about “global warming” and the need to protect the environment, all the “papal” sellouts to Red China, all the “papal” endorsements of “open borders” and socialism—in other words, everything—churned out by their counterfeit church of conciliarism—hook, line and sinker. As I wrote in 2009, they like it!.

It is important to remember this as those who are rending their garments and gnashing their teeth now over their “pope’s” “abolition” of the death penalty from the misnamed Catechism of the Catholic Church are the ones who are still rending their garments and gnashing their teeth over their “pope’s” Amoris Laetitia, something that they have been doing since it was issued nearly thirty-five months ago. This never ends. It will never end as it is the nature of error and falsehood to keep proliferating and mutating.

This is demonstrated empirically by the very nature of Protestantism, which has degenerated to such an extent that the most of the so-called “mainline” Protestant sects (Lutheranism, Anglicanism/Episcopalianism, Presbyterianism, Methodism) have become nothing other than pantheistic cults with decreasing memberships. Judeo-Masonry has taken full advantage of Protestantism’s inherent degeneracy to such an extent that most leaders of the principal Protestant sects are card-carrying members of the New World Order. The fact that Jorge Mario Bergoglio has joined his brethren-in-heresy/apostasy/blasphemy/error/sacrilege is but the natural result of conciliarism’s abject rejection of the doctrines and teachings listed above.

For present purposes, though, it is useful to point out that for all of the huffing and puffing and threatening to blow the Anglican house down after some Lambeth conference moved the goalposts of that religious sect’s false beliefs most “conservative” Anglicans have stayed within the so-called “Worldwide Anglican Communion.” They have not gone anywhere. They will never go anywhere.

There is an old joke about this phenomenon that has many variations, including this one:

Before the Lambeth Committee meeting:

First Anglican ‘priest:” “If the liberals do one more thing, just more thing, I'm converting to Catholicism.”

Second Anglican “priest:” “Well, you said that when the liberals gave you women priests."

First Anglican “priest.” “It's different now. No more. I've reached my limit. No more compromises.”

After the Lambeth Committee meeting:

Second Anglican “priest:” “What did they did this time?”

First Anglican “priest:” “I'd rather not say.”

Second Anglican “priest:” “Was it really that bad?”

First Anglican “priest:” “Yes, about the worst.”

Second Anglican “priest:” “What did they do?”

First Anglican “priest:” “Instituted a feast in honor of the adversary. (Long pause). I tell you, if they do one more thing I'm converting to Catholicism, do you hear me?”

It has ever been with most of the High Anglicans, who consider themselves defenders of a “tradition” that was born in a bloody rebellion started by a lustful, adulterous and bigamous king against the true Church that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope, and it will ever be thus with semi-traditional and “conservative” Catholics who labor under the misapprehension that the counterfeit church of conciliarism is the Catholic Church and true Successors of Saint Peter can promote heresy and error as a matter of course. Jorge Mario Bergoglio will keep moving the goalposts while those on his “right” will keep huffing and puffing as they themselves keep moving the goalposts of how much of the Catholic Faith a “pope” can deny or put into question before he is considered to be an antiope.

Then again, we really don’t have to wonder what Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who is an ardent supporter of every public official who adheres to the false opposite of the naturalist “left” in spite of—or perhaps because of—the fact that each to a person supports the destruction of innocent human beings in their mothers’ wombs under cover of the civil as well as serving as willing agents of sodomites and their entire agenda from hell. Bergoglio has gone so far as to endorse such a pro-abort, pro-sodomite leftist, currently in prison on corruption charges, Lula da Silva, in his quest to be elected to his former office, President of Brazil:

August 16, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Pope Francis has recently met in Rome with some of the allies of the former Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva, who is now jailed for corruption. The Pontiff expressed his support for Lula da Silva, even allegedly comparing his imprisonment with the persecution of Jesus Christ.

On 2 August, Pope Francis welcomed three allies of Lula da Silva, former Brazilian Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs Celso Amorim, former Argentine Minister Alberto Fernandez, and Chilean Minister Carlos Ominami. At that meeting, the Pope spoke with his guests about the situation of the former President of Brazil who ruled eight years from 2003 until 2011. The supportive delegation called attention to the plight of Lula, who is now imprisoned for his corruption which his supporters claim to be an unjust form of “lawfare.”

In response to this meeting, which lasted unusually long – one hour – Pope Francis himself wrote a note in support of Lula da Silva who had been a strongly pro-abortion and pro-homosexual President.

The Pope wrote: “To Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva with my blessing, asking him to pray for me, Francisco.” Lula da Silva immediately posted this hand-written note on his own Twitter account.

As Carlos Ominami reported a day after this 2 August meeting with Pope Francis, the pontiff, when speaking with his guests about the situation of the former President of Brazil, compared his plight with that of Jesus Christ. He said, according to Ominami:

Truth be told, the Pope was not particularly surprised. To my amazement, he told us that this was a very old story, so much so that it was in the Bible. In his own way, this had happened to Jesus Christ, St. John and Susan of Babylon.

This papal comment had been elicited by the delegation's own description of the purported unjust legal treatment of Lula da Silva, but also because of the “obligation to defend, in Brazil and throughout our region, a democracy that we have had so much trouble achieving.” Pope Francis, claims Ominami, also himself made a reference back to a 17 May 2018 homily of his in which he was specifically speaking about coups d'état.

Lula da Silva had been arrested in April of 2018 because of corruption charges and he has subsequently been sentenced to twelve years imprisonment. As the German Vatican specialist Giuseppe Nardi reports, Lula da Silva's allies consider his imprisonment to be an injustice, and they are trying to get him re-elected as President so that he may gain juridical immunity and thus would have to be released from prison.

And indeed, on 14 August 2018, Lula da Silva published an op-ed in the New York Times, speaking about a “a Right-Wing Coup Underway in Brazil.” He continues, saying: “With all the polls showing that I would easily win this October’s elections, Brazil’s extreme right wing is seeking to knock me out of the race.”

Only two days after the papal support for Lula da Silva, his Worker's Party announced on 4 August that it named him as its nominee for the presidential elections.

As Giuseppe Nardi comments, “possibly never before has a pope so openly and so partially supported one political party.” In this case, it is the left that the Pope is endorsing.

As LifeSiteNews had earlier reported, President Lula da Silva had strongly supported the cause of homosexuals and of abortionists in Brazil. In his last year in public office, he issued a legislative reform initiative securing abortion as a “human right” and imposing socialist and homosexual ideologies in schools and in the media. He also intended to ban crucifixes from all official government buildings. Lula da Silva spent millions of dollars for pro-homosexual causes and even introduced pro-homosexual educational materials for young children as young as 7 to 12 years of age.

This is not the first time that Pope Francis has publicly endorsed public figures who work against the Catholic Church's moral teachings. Most famous is his 2016 praise of Emma Bonino, the Italian pro-abortion activist, as well as his continuous welcoming of Jeffrey Sachs to the Vatican. Jeffrey Sachs has repeatedly given talks at Vatican conferences during Francis' pontificate, even though Sachs is known to be a global supporter of abortion and population control. (Jorge Lends Support to Jailed Pro-Abortion, Pro-Sodomite Ex-President of Brazil.)

Jorge the Blasphemer never ceases to stoop to new levels of blasphemy. To compare the unjust imprisonment and subsequent martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist, who reproached the dissolute Herod the Tetrarch for his bigamous and adulterous “marriage to Herodias, the wife of his then very much-alive brother, Philip the Tetrarch, and to the Redemptive Act of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who offered Himself on the wood of the Holy Cross to His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal God the Father in Spirit and in Truth in atonement for our sins, is such utter blasphemy that it defies my poor ken to think this wretched little pest from Argentina believes in God has He has revealed Himself exclusively to His Catholic Church is a Catholic, no less a true and legitimate Successor of Saint Peter.  Giuseppe Nardi has never seen this before because no true pope has done this before.

Bergoglio is making it a point to appoint like-minded apostates, including a supposed “presbyter,” Jose Tolentino Mendonca, from Portugal he is elevating to the conciliar hierarchy to serve as the Vatican archivist in spite of—or, more probably, because of—the fact that Tolentino Mendonca does not believe that Our Lord did not establish any “rules.” This means that, contrary to the Divine Constitution of the Catholic Church, Holy Mother Church is not nor has ever been guided infallibly by God the Holy Ghost in her dogmatic pronouncements and doctrinal decisions. Talk about moving the goalposts. This is the exact same path that has been trodden by most “mainline” Protestant sects. (For the story about ’Jose Tolentino Mendoncas elevation to his position in the Occupied Vatican on the West Bank of the Tiber River, please see Antipope Elevates a Pro-Sodomite Priest as "Bishop" Who Does not Believe that Our Lord Established "Rules".) Move along, nothing to see. Gilfredo Marengo is just another free-form dogmatic evolutionist.

Actually, of course, the goalposts of Catholicism are quite fixed as anyone who disbelieves even one article of the Catholic Faith expels himself from the bosom of Holy Mother Church:

With reference to its object, faith cannot be greater for some truths than for others. Nor can it be less with regard to the number of truths to be believed. For we must all believe the very same thing, both as to the object of faith as well as to the number of truths. All are equal in this because everyone must believe all the truths of faith--both those which God Himself has directly revealed, as well as those he has revealed through His Church. Thus, I must believe as much as you and you as much as I, and all other Christians similarly. He who does not believe all these mysteries is not Catholic and therefore will never enter Paradise. (Saint Francis de Sales, The Sermons of Saint Francis de Sales for Lent Given in 1622, republished by TAN Books and Publishers for the Visitation Monastery of Frederick, Maryland, in 1987, pp. 34-37.)

The Church, founded on these principles and mindful of her office, has done nothing with greater zeal and endeavour than she has displayed in guarding the integrity of the faith. Hence she regarded as rebels and expelled from the ranks of her children all who held beliefs on any point of doctrine different from her own. The Arians, the Montanists, the Novatians, the Quartodecimans, the Eutychians, did not certainly reject all Catholic doctrine:they abandoned only a certain portion of it. Still who does not know that they were declared heretics and banished from the bosom of the Church? In like manner were condemned all authors of heretical tenets who followed them in subsequent ages. "There can be nothing more dangerous than those heretics who admit nearly the whole cycle of doctrine, and yet by one word, as with a drop of poison, infect the real and simple faith taught by our Lord and handed down by Apostolic tradition" (Auctor Tract. de Fide Orthodoxa contra Arianos).

The practice of the Church has always been the same, as is shown by the unanimous teaching of the Fathers, who were wont to hold as outside Catholic communion, and alien to the Church, whoever would recede in the least degree from any point of doctrine proposed by her authoritative Magisterium. Epiphanius, Augustine, Theodore :, drew up a long list of the heresies of their times. St. Augustine notes that other heresies may spring up, to a single one of which, should any one give his assent, he is by the very fact cut off from Catholic unity. "No one who merely disbelieves in all (these heresies) can for that reason regard himself as a Catholic or call himself one. For there may be or may arise some other heresies, which are not set out in this work of ours, and, if any one holds to one single one of these he is not a Catholic" (S. Augustinus, De Haeresibus, n. 88). (Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum, June 29, 1896.)

No, “partial credit” does not cut it to retain one's membership in good standing within the maternal bosom of Holy Mother Church:

Such is the nature of Catholicism that it does not admit of more or less, but must be held as a whole or as a whole rejected: ‘This is the Catholic Faith, which unless a man believe faithfully and firmly, he cannot be saved’ (Athanasian Creed). There is no need of adding any qualifying terms to the profession of Catholicism: it is quite enough for each one to proclaim ‘Christian is my name and Catholic my surname,’ only let him endeavor to be in reality what he calls himself.

Besides, the Church demands from those who have devoted themselves to furthering her interests, something very different from the dwelling upon profitless questions; she demands that they should devote the whole of their energy to preserve the faith intact and unsullied by any breath of error, and follow most closely him whom Christ has appointed to be the guardian and interpreter of the truth. There are to be found today, and in no small numbers, men, of whom the Apostle says that: "having itching ears, they will not endure sound doctrine: but according to their own desires they will heap up to themselves teachers, and will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables" (II Tim. iv. 34). Infatuated and carried away by a lofty idea of the human intellect, by which God's good gift has certainly made incredible progress in the study of nature, confident in their own judgment, and contemptuous of the authority of the Church, they have reached such a degree of rashness as not to hesitate to measure by the standard of their own mind even the hidden things of God and all that God has revealed to men. Hence arose the monstrous errors of "Modernism," which Our Predecessor rightly declared to be "the synthesis of all heresies," and solemnly condemned. We hereby renew that condemnation in all its fulness, Venerable Brethren, and as the plague is not yet entirely stamped out, but lurks here and there in hidden places, We exhort all to be carefully here and there in hidden places, We exhort all to be carefully on their guard against any contagion of the evil, to which we may apply the words Job used in other circumstances: "It is a fire that devoureth even to destruction, and rooteth up all things that spring" (Job xxxi. 12). Nor do We merely desire that Catholics should shrink from the errors of Modernism, but also from the tendencies or what is called the spirit of Modernism. Those who are infected by that spirit develop a keen dislike for all that savours of antiquity and become eager searchers after novelties in everything: in the way in which they carry out religious functions, in the ruling of Catholic institutions, and even in private exercises of piety. Therefore it is Our will that the law of our forefathers should still be held sacred: "Let there be no innovation; keep to what has been handed down." In matters of faith that must be inviolably adhered to as the law; it may however also serve as a guide even in matters subject to change, but even in such cases the rule would hold: "Old things, but in a new way." (Pope Benedict XV, Ad Beatissimi Apostolorum, November 1, 1914.)

Pope Pius XI, writing in Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1928, also rejected any notion of a distinction between "fundamental" and allegedly "non-fundamental" doctrines of the Catholic Faith:

Besides this, in connection with things which must be believed, it is nowise licit to use that distinction which some have seen fit to introduce between those articles of faith which are fundamental and those which are not fundamental, as they say, as if the former are to be accepted by all, while the latter may be left to the free assent of the faithful: for the supernatural virtue of faith has a formal cause, namely the authority of God revealing, and this is patient of no such distinction. For this reason it is that all who are truly Christ's believe, for example, the Conception of the Mother of God without stain of original sin with the same faith as they believe the mystery of the August Trinity, and the Incarnation of our Lord just as they do the infallible teaching authority of the Roman Pontiff, according to the sense in which it was defined by the Ecumenical Council of the Vatican. Are these truths not equally certain, or not equally to be believed, because the Church has solemnly sanctioned and defined them, some in one age and some in another, even in those times immediately before our own? Has not God revealed them all? For the teaching authority of the Church, which in the divine wisdom was constituted on earth in order that revealed doctrines might remain intact for ever, and that they might be brought with ease and security to the knowledge of men, and which is daily exercised through the Roman Pontiff and the Bishops who are in communion with him, has also the office of defining, when it sees fit, any truth with solemn rites and decrees, whenever this is necessary either to oppose the errors or the attacks of heretics, or more clearly and in greater detail to stamp the minds of the faithful with the articles of sacred doctrine which have been explained. But in the use of this extraordinary teaching authority no newly invented matter is brought in, nor is anything new added to the number of those truths which are at least implicitly contained in the deposit of Revelation, divinely handed down to the Church: only those which are made clear which perhaps may still seem obscure to some, or that which some have previously called into question is declared to be of faith.  (Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1928.)

“Pope Francis” is not the “pope” as it is impossible for a Catholic to adhere to his teaching without defecting from the Catholic Faith as he did in his youth in Argentina.

Yes, it is all or nothing with Catholicism.

It is black and white.

It is yea or nay.

It is “this” or “that.”

It is truth or error.

It is Christ or chaos.

We turn to Our Lady with every beat of our hearts, consecrated as they must be to Most Sacred Heart of her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, through her own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, pledging to her in this month of August, the month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to renew our consecration Our Lady's Immaculate Haert and to remember to as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

We can must make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world by enslaving ourselves to her Divine Son through her Immaculate Heart, giving unto whatever merit we earn each day so that she can dispose of that merit however she sees fit for the honor and glory of the Most Holy Trinity and for the good of souls in the Church Suffering in Purgatory and here in the Church Militant on earth.

The final victory belongs to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. We must consider it a privilege that we are alive in these times to plant a few seeds for the restoration of the Church Militant on earth and for the restoration of Christendom in the world.
