Steer Clear of the Vatican
Despite Foggy Bottom's Bloody Tradition, there are times when the officials of the United States Department of State experience a fleeting encounter with something that is true in the objective order of things, noting, however that these fleeting encounters are best understood in a figurative sense rather than literally.
Such is the case with the following report on Breibart.com:
The United States Embassy in Italy has issued a security alert to all Americans abroad, warning them to avoid locations that have been identified as potential targets for terrorist attacks.
At the top of the short list is “St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City (Rome).”
The November 18 notice is billed as a “Security Message for U.S. Citizens” regarding a potential for terrorist attacks, and arrived punctually into the email boxes of all Americans registered with the embassy, including that of Breitbart News.
Along with the Vatican, the State Department singles out the Duomo (cathedral) and La Scala opera house in Milan. It goes on to note that general venues “such as churches, synagogues, restaurants, theatres, and hotels” in both Rome and Milan are possible targets as well.
The embassy notice says: “Terrorist groups may possibly utilize similar methods used in the recent Paris attacks,” meaning bombs and assault rifles.
The alert also mentions that Italian authorities are aware of these threats, signaling that there will be additional security in these places, a phenomenon that is already evident.
Immediately following last Friday’s jihadist attacks in Paris, the Italian government issued a level-two terrorist alert for the whole country, considerably increasing security measures around the Vatican City State.
The level-two alert comprises the deployment of forces from the army’s special units. Army units have been dispatched to conduct regular patrols on the streets surrounding the Vatican, and can be seen in clusters around the city-state carrying high-powered weapons.
Patrols will reportedly intensify in the coming weeks leading up to the beginning of the Vatican’s Jubilee Year of Mercy on December 8.
“The danger is real and objective,” said Franco Roberti, the head of Italy’s anti-mafia and counterterrorism task force earlier this week, “but it is not concrete or delimited.”
“We must protect ourselves from this danger by adopting all the preventive measures necessary. We do not need special laws, but we must be prepared to give up some of our personal freedoms, in particular in the area of communication,” he said.
The embassy alert advised U.S. citizens “to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings.”
It also encourages them “to monitor media and local information sources and factor updated information into personal travel plans and activities.” (Terrorist Alert: Steer Clear of the Vatican.)
To do the kind of justice to this report requires would involve more time than is available now.
Suffice it to say for the moment that Catholics should stay away from the Vatican, but not necessarily in the literal sense as anyone could be a target of terrorism at any time and in any place. Catholics should never be deterred from visiting the Basilica of Saint Peter because of the threat of terrorist attacks, but they should and must be deterred from having anything do with the authorities of a false church that pose as officials of the Catholic Church.
The real significance of the report cited above is that officials of the United States Embassy in Rome have stumbled upon a truth that they do not recognize as such, namely, the conciliar Vatican has lost the Faith and has thus done great violence to Sacred Deposit of Faith and to the Sacred Liturgy itself. Its “popes,” “cardinals,’ “bishops,” “priests or presbyters” have been agents of revolutionary change. They are the greatest terrorists alive today.
We must stay away from everything to do with a false church whose “popes” have done great harm to the honor and glory of the Most Blessed Trinity and to our formerly Catholic churches, which are places of revolutionary doctrines and shamefully sacrilegious liturgies.
Yes, stay away from the Vatican, figuratively speaking, that is,, and the institutions that are under their iron-fisted persecution of those who are “dissenters” who seek to defend the integrity of the Faith despite their own sins and failings.
The Vatican is control of heretics who do violence to God and to the souls for Him His Co-Equal, Co-Eternal Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood during his Passion and Death on Good Friday to redeem. Those who seek “recognition” by and who are in “association with” these heretics are making themselves voluntary victims of officials who hate the Faith and the Immemorial Mass of Tradition with great ferocity, and that is the worst kind of terrorism of them all.
Not a day passes without the false “pontiff,” a man who is a heretic, not a “bad pope,” and thus not a member of the Catholic Church, serving up his usual blend of Modernism at the Casa Santa Marta or some other place inside or outside the walls of the Vatican. How much more proof is necessary to convince the unconvinced of this fact?
There is not one thing that this man says or does that is not tainted by Modernism and his hatred of everything to do with the Divine Constitution of Holy Mother Church, something was demonstrated on Friday, November 20, 2015, the Feast of Saint Felix of Valois and the Commemoration of Pope Saint Pontianus, when Bergoglio appeared to some wishful Catholics to be “laying down the law” to his friends in the conciliar “hierarchy” of the Federal Republic Germany with whom he is completely allied on his agenda of Protestantizing his own false church. After decrying the low number of Catholics who receive his false religious sect’s false sacramental rites, a phenomenon that is the direct result of the apostasy of the documents of the “Second” Vatican Council and of the magisterium of the conciliar “popes,” Bergoglio prescribed his solution to the decay wrought in Germany: more conciliarism:
Pope Francis said the solution to the crisis depends upon overcoming “paralyzing resignation,” and cannot be based upon an attempt to “rebuild from the wrecks of ‘the good old days’ in the past,” but it can be inspired by the life of the early Christians.
He turned the bishops attention to the biblical figures of Priscilla and Aquila, the married couple who witnessed with their words and lives to the love of Christ.
“The example of these ‘volunteers’ can help us reflect, given the trend towards a growing institutionalization,” Pope Francis said.
“We always inaugurate new facilities, from which, in the end, the faithful are missing,” Pope Francis said.
“It is a sort of new Pelagianism, which puts its trust in administrative structures, in perfect organizations” – the Pope continued – “excessive centralization, rather than helping, complicates the life of the Church and her missionary dynamics.”
He told the bishops to give more attention to Confession during the Jubilee of Mercy, since “in Confession is the beginning of the transformation of each individual Christian and the reform of the Church.” (Use Jubilee to revive Church.)
One will note that Senor Jorge believes that the way to "revive" the practice of what he believes is Catholicism in Germany depends upon a rejection of any effort to “rebuild from the wrecks of ‘the good old days’ in the past” and “excessive centralization." This is, of course, identical to Martin Luther’s rejection of a visible, hierarchical perfect society founded by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself in favor an amorphous mass of individual “believers” who practice a mythical “purer” and “simpler” form of Christianity unfettered by elaborate ceremonies befitting the honor and glory and majesty of the Most Blessed Trinity and communicating the solemn nature of the unbloody re-presentation or perpetuation of Our Lord’s bloody Sacrifice of Himself to His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal God the Father on the wood of the Holy Cross in atonement for our sins.
Bergoglio's support for a restoration of the practices that were necessitated by the life of the Church in the underground during the episodic outbreaks of Roman persecution from 67 A.D. to 313 A.D. and his belief, expressed on many other occasions, the "purity" of the Church has been obscured by a longing for the "good old days" consitute a perfect expression of the Jansenist principles condemned by Pope Pius VI in Auctorem Fidei, August 28, 1794
Obscuring of Truths in the Church [From the Decree de Grat., sec. I]
1. The proposition, which asserts "that in these later times there has been spread a general obscuring of the more important truths pertaining to religion, which are the basis of faith and of the moral teachings of Jesus Christ,"—heretical.
The Power Attributed to the Community of the Church, in Order That by This the Power May Be Communicated to the Pastors
2. The proposition which states "that power has been given by God to the Church, that it might be communicated to the pastors who are its ministers for the salvation of souls"; if thus understood that the power of ecclesiastical ministry and of rule is derived from the COMMUNITY of the faithful to the pastors,—heretical.
The Name Ministerial Head Attributed to the Roman Pontiff
3. In addition, the proposition which states "that the Roman Pontiff is the ministerial head," if it is so explained that the Roman Pontiff does not receive from Christ in the person of blessed Peter, but from the Church, the power of ministry, which as successor of Peter, true vicar of Christ and head of the whole Church he possesses in the universal Church,—heretical.'
The Power of the Church for the Establishing and the Sanctioning of Exterior Discipline
4. The proposition affirming, "that it would be a misuse of the authority of the Church, when she transfers that authority beyond the limits of doctrine and of morals, and extends it to exterior matters, and demands by force that which depends on persuasion and love"; and then also, "that it pertains to it much less, to demand by force exterior obedience to its decrees"; in so far as by those undefined words, "extends to exterior matters," the proposition censures as an abuse of the authority of the Church the use of its power received from God, which the apostles themselves used in establishing and sanctioning exterior discipline—heretical.
5. In that part in which the proposition insinuates that the Church "does not have authority to demand obedience to its decrees otherwise than by means which depend on persuasion; in so far as it intends that the Church has not conferred on it by God the power, not only of directing by counsel and persuasion, but also of ordering by laws, and of constraining and forcing the inconstant and stubborn by exterior judgment and salutary punishments" leading toward a system condemned elsewhere as heretical.. . . .
Calumnies Against Some Decisions in the Matter of Faith Which Have Come Down from Several Centuries
12. The assertions of the synod, accepted as a whole concerning decisions in the matter of faith which have come down from several centuries, which it represents as decrees originating from one particular church or from a few pastors, unsupported by sufficient authority, formulated for the corruption of the purity of faith and for causing disturbance, introduced by violence, from which wounds, still too recent, have been inflicted,—false, deceitful, rash, scandalous, injurious to the Roman Pontiffs and the Church, derogatory to the obedience due to the Apostolic Constitutions, schismatic, dangerous, at least erroneous.
The So-called Peace of Clement IX
13. The proposition reported among the acts of the synod, which intimates that Clement IX restored peace to the Church by the approval of the distinction of right and deed in the subscription to the formulary written by Alexander VII (see n. 1ogg),—false, rash, injurious to Clement IX.
14. In so far as it approves that distinction by extolling its supporters with praise and by berating their opponents,—rash, pernicious, injurious to the Supreme Pontiffs, fostering schism and heresy.
The Composition of the Body of the Church
15. The doctrine which proposes that the Church "must be considered as one mystical body composed of Christ, the head, and the faithful, who are its members through an ineffable union, by which in a marvelous way we become with Him one sole priest, one sole victim, one sole perfect adorer of God the Father, in spirit and in truth," under-stood in this sense, that no one belongs to the body of the Church except the faithful, who are perfect adorers in spirit and in truth,—heretical. (Pope Pius VI, Auctorem Fidei, August 28, 1794.)
Pope Pius VI prophetically condemned what is being espoused with such fervor by Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
Indeed, Pope Pius XII renewed his predecsesor's condemnation of Jansenism in the text of Mediator Dei, November 20, 1947:
The Church has further used her right of control over liturgical observance to protect the purity of divine worship against abuse from dangerous and imprudent innovations introduced by private individuals and particular churches. Thus it came about -- during the 16th century, when usages and customs of this sort had become increasingly prevalent and exaggerated, and when private initiative in matters liturgical threatened to compromise the integrity of faith and devotion, to the great advantage of heretics and further spread of their errors -- that in the year 1588, Our predecessor Sixtus V of immortal memory established the Sacred Congregation of Rites, charged with the defense of the legitimate rites of the Church and with the prohibition of any spurious innovation.[48] This body fulfills even today the official function of supervision and legislation with regard to all matters touching the sacred liturgy.[49]
58. It follows from this that the Sovereign Pontiff alone enjoys the right to recognize and establish any practice touching the worship of God, to introduce and approve new rites, as also to modify those he judges to require modification.[50] Bishops, for their part, have the right and duty carefully to watch over the exact observance of the prescriptions of the sacred canons respecting divine worship.[51] Private individuals, therefore, even though they be clerics, may not be left to decide for themselves in these holy and venerable matters, involving as they do the religious life of Christian society along with the exercise of the priesthood of Jesus Christ and worship of God; concerned as they are with the honor due to the Blessed Trinity, the Word Incarnate and His august mother and the other saints, and with the salvation of souls as well. For the same reason no private person has any authority to regulate external practices of this kind, which are intimately bound up with Church discipline and with the order, unity and concord of the Mystical Body and frequently even with the integrity of Catholic faith itself.
The Church is without question a living organism, and as an organism, in respect of the sacred liturgy also, she grows, matures, develops, adapts and accommodates herself to temporal needs and circumstances, provided only that the integrity of her doctrine be safeguarded. This notwithstanding, the temerity and daring of those who introduce novel liturgical practices, or call for the revival of obsolete rites out of harmony with prevailing laws and rubrics, deserve severe reproof. It has pained Us grievously to note, Venerable Brethren, that such innovations are actually being introduced, not merely in minor details but in matters of major importance as well. We instance, in point of fact, those who make use of the vernacular in the celebration of the august eucharistic sacrifice; those who transfer certain feast-days -- which have been appointed and established after mature deliberation -- to other dates; those, finally, who delete from the prayer books approved for public use the sacred texts of the Old Testament, deeming them little suited and inopportune for modern times.
The use of the Latin language, customary in a considerable portion of the Church, is a manifest and beautiful sign of unity, as well as an effective antidote for any corruption of doctrinal truth. In spite of this, the use of the mother tongue in connection with several of the rites may be of much advantage to the people. But the Apostolic See alone is empowered to grant this permission. It is forbidden, therefore, to take any action whatever of this nature without having requested and obtained such consent, since the sacred liturgy, as We have said, is entirely subject to the discretion and approval of the Holy See.
The same reasoning holds in the case of some persons who are bent on the restoration of all the ancient rites and ceremonies indiscriminately. The liturgy of the early ages is most certainly worthy of all veneration. But ancient usage must not be esteemed more suitable and proper, either in its own right or in its significance for later times and new situations, on the simple ground that it carries the savor and aroma of antiquity. The more recent liturgical rites likewise deserve reverence and respect. They, too, owe their inspiration to the Holy Spirit, who assists the Church in every age even to the consummation of the world. They are equally the resources used by the majestic Spouse of Jesus Christ to promote and procure the sanctity of man.
Assuredly it is a wise and most laudable thing to return in spirit and affection to the sources of the sacred liturgy. For research in this field of study, by tracing it back to its origins, contributes valuable assistance towards a more thorough and careful investigation of the significance of feast-days, and of the meaning of the texts and sacred ceremonies employed on their occasion. But it is neither wise nor laudable to reduce everything to antiquity by every possible device. Thus, to cite some instances, one would be straying from the straight path were he to wish the altar restored to its primitive table form; were he to want black excluded as a color for the liturgical vestments; were he to forbid the use of sacred images and statues in Churches; were he to order the crucifix so designed that the divine Redeemer's body shows no trace of His cruel sufferings; and lastly were he to disdain and reject polyphonic music or singing in parts, even where it conforms to regulations issued by the Holy See.
Clearly no sincere Catholic can refuse to accept the formulation of Christian doctrine more recently elaborated and proclaimed as dogmas by the Church, under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit with abundant fruit for souls, because it pleases him to hark back to the old formulas. No more can any Catholic in his right senses repudiate existing legislation of the Church to revert to prescriptions based on the earliest sources of canon law. Just as obviously unwise and mistaken is the zeal of one who in matters liturgical would go back to the rites and usage of antiquity, discarding the new patterns introduced by disposition of divine Providence to meet the changes of circumstances and situation.
This way of acting bids fair to revive the exaggerated and senseless antiquarianism to which the illegal Council of Pistoia gave rise. It likewise attempts to reinstate a series of errors which were responsible for the calling of that meeting as well as for those resulting from it, with grievous harm to souls, and which the Church, the ever watchful guardian of the "deposit of faith" committed to her charge by her divine Founder, had every right and reason to condemn. For perverse designs and ventures of this sort tend to paralyze and weaken that process of sanctification by which the sacred liturgy directs the sons of adoption to their Heavenly Father of their souls' salvation. (Pope Pius XII, Mediator Dei, November 20, 1947.)
Jorge Mario Bergoglio is the very embodiment of everything condemned by Pope Pius XII in Mediator Deion November 20, 1947. His “liberated” form of “presiding” over a liturgy, sacramentally barren as it is, compels him to look for new and more “exciting” barriers to break. This is truly frightening if one considers the fact that he said in 2014 that the liturgical “renewal” (viz. revolution) has a “long way to go.” Long way to go? To quote Officer Leo Schnauser, played by the late Al Lewis, in “The Biggest Day of the Year” episode of Car 54, Where Are You? (February 17, 1963), “Where? To do what?”
One of the traits of classical liberalism is the prescription of more “reforms” to resolve problems caused by previous sets of reforms that were based upon false premises. Liberals must create problems for them to "solve" by means of various reforms that only wind up worsening, not improving, whatever situation they seek to "change," and they are constitutionally incapable of admitting the falsity of their original premises, which is why they must resort to ever more experiments and novelties to seek the "solution" to problems that they created by means of their falsehoods.
Bergoglio, for example, cannot see that the life of Catholicism in Germany (and elsewhere in Europe and in the world) has withered precisely because of conciliarism, and that no amount of aefforts to invite the fallen way into the conciliar mother ship is going to swell the ranks of churches that are in the control of enemies of Christ the King and the souls He redeemed by the shedding of every drop of His Most Precious Blood.
The false "pontiff" also appeared to wear a Catholic hat of sorts when he spoke of the Eucharist and the priesthood and of the defense of innocent life before emphasizing the "need" to welcome refugees in his so-called "Jubilee Year of Mercy" that will begin soon:
“It is also necessary to highlight the intimate connection between the Eucharist and the priesthood,” the Holy Father said.
“The precious collaboration of the laity, especially in those places where vocations are missing, cannot become a surrogate for the ministerial priesthood, or give it the semblance of being simply optional,” he said. “If there is no priest, there is no Eucharist.”
The Pope also said a task of the Bishop which is always underappreciated is the commitment to life.
“The Church must never get tired of being the advocate of life, and should never step back from proclaiming that human life must be protected unconditionally from conception to natural death,” he said.
He said any compromise on this issue makes one guilty of being part of a “throwaway culture,” noting the wounds caused in society due to the suffering of the weakest and most defenseless: The unborn, the elderly, and the sick.
“All of us in the end will suffer the painful consequences,” he said.
Pope Francis also spoke about the refugee crisis affecting Europe, and thanked the Churches and individual citizens who have offered their help in accommodating those “seeking refuge from war and persecution” with their assistance, on both a material and human level.
“In the spirit of Christ, we must continue to meet the challenge of the great number of people in need,” he said. “At the same time, we support all humanitarian initiatives to ensure that the living conditions in the countries of origin become more bearable.” (Use Jubilee to revive Church.)
The Argentine Apostate must always make a connection between the defense of innocent human life from conception until the time of natural death with the refugee crisis that has changed the demographic composition of Europe and, in more recent years, served as a conduit for Mohammedan terrorists to enter once Catholic nations to wreak their havoc and destruction upon innocent civilians. Bergoglio does not believe that Mohammedanism or Talmudism are religions of hatred, thus predisposing him to speak of the enemies of the Sacred Divinity of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in glowing terms without reference to the violence they commit in the name of “fidelity” to their own false pretenses. “Pope Francis” does not believe that Mohammedanism and Talmudism are false religions based upon a violent rejection of the Most Blessed Trinity and of the Sacred Divinity of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The irony in all of this is that Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s efforts to indemnify Mohammedanism and Talmudism at every turn may wind up rather badly for him if the warnings issued by the United States Department of State represent actual threats that have the possibility of taking his life, whether in the Vatican or while on his upcoming tour of Kenya, Uganda, and the Central African Republic at the very hands of the Mohammedans whose presence in Europe in such great numbers has won for these infidels what had been denied to them by brave Catholic kings and popes prior to the “Second” Vatican Council.
Mind you, it is beyond the scope of this present commentary to address the claims made by some that the Islamic Sate of Iraq and Syria is actually the handiwork of the State of Israel in order to exploit Mohammedan hatred of the West, thus inciting them to commit acts of terrorism that will prompt yet another war to make the Middle East “safe for Israel.” Such claims will be addressed in an upcoming commentary, which will note yet again that the Afghanistani Taliban and Al Qaeda are both offshoots of efforts of the administration of President Ronald Wilson Reagan to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan by supporting the Mujahideen and that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria arose in large part of President George Walker Bush’s efforts to provide “safety” for the Zionist State of Israel by means of the moral, military, economic and geopolitical disaster that was and remains “Operation Iraqi Freedom."For the present, however, suffice it to note that the ultimate source of all hatred of the true Faith is the devil, who uses Talmudism and Mohammedanism as his tools no matter which particular set of infidels is responsible for which organization or which set of events, and the only way to defeat the adversary is by means of Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary.
What I do want to point out in this commentary, however, is that Bergoglio’s call to support refugees, among whom are to be found sleeper agents who are faithful, believing Mohammedans, who have been welcomed by the lords of Modernity and the lords of Modernism into one formerly Catholic country after another in Europe is part of the adversary's scheme to turn one set of devils loose upon other sets of devils in preparation for his final battle against the true Church.
Mohammedanism is evil.
Sure, so is Talmudism.
Granted.
However, the fact that Talmudism is evil does not lessen the reality of Mohammedanism’s evil nature or make it impossible for individual Mohammedans to use violence against those they deem to be worthy of execution. Men who believe in a false religion that is based upon violence will commit acts of violence, and only fools deny that this is so.
Obviously, Bergoglio believes that all religions, including Mohammedanism, have “value” in the eyes of God, and that “believers” should be welcomed into the so-called developed nations of the world as a means of combatting “unbelief.” Such is madness as our true popes did not welcome Mohammedans into Europe.
Indeed, our true popes called for Crusades against the infidels, and two different religious communities, the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and the The Royal, Celestial and Military Order of Our Lady of Mercy and the Redemption of the Captives to come to the rescue of Christians who were being held hostage or persecuted by the Mohammedans, Saint Felix of Valois, whose feast was celebrated yesterday, Friday, November 20, 2015, was the founder of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity, engaging in the sort of work that is forbidden by the conciliar revolutionaries today:
Felix de Valois, who afterwards took the name of Felix, was born (in the year 1127) of the same family of the de Valois which in after times became Kingly. From his earliest childhood he gave tokens, especially by his pity toward the poor, of the holiness of his coming life. When he was still a little lad he distributed money to the poor with his own hand, with the seriousness of an old man. When he was a little bigger he used to send them dishes from the table, and took especial delight in treating poor children with the most toothsome of the sweetmeats. As a boy he took clothes off his own back more than once, to cover the naked. He begged and obtained from his uncle Theobald, Earl of Champagne and Blois, the life of a felon condemned to death, foretelling to him that this blackguard cut-throat would yet become a man of most holy life which did indeed come to pass as he had said.
After a praiseworthy boyhood, he began to think of withdrawing from the world in order to be alone with heavenly thoughts. But he first wished to take orders, to the end that he might clear himself of all expectation of succeeding to the crown, to which, in consequence of the Salic Law, he was somewhat near. He became a Priest, and said his first Mass with deep devotion. Then, in a little while, he withdrew himself into the wilderness, where he lived in extreme abstinence, fed by heavenly grace. Thither, by the inspiration of God, came the holy Doctor John de la Mata of Paris, and found him, and they led an holy life together for several years, until they were both warned of an Angel to go to Rome and seek a special Rule of life from the Pope. Pope Innocent III. while he was solemnly celebrating the Liturgy on the 28th day of January, 1198,, received in a vision the revelation of the Order and Institute for the redemption of bondsmen, and he forthwith clad Felix and John in white garments marked with a cross of red and blue, made after the likeness of the raiment wherein the Angel had appeared. This Pope also willed that the new Order should bear, as well as the habit of three colours, the name of the Most Holy Trinity.
When they had received the confirmation of their rule from Pope Innocent, John and Felix enlarged the first house of their Order, which they had built a little while before at Cerfroi, in the diocese of Meaux, in France. There Felix wonderfully devoted himself to the promotion of Regular Observance and of the Institute for the redemption of bondsmen, and thence he busily spread the same by sending forth his disciples into other provinces. Here it was that he received an extraordinary favour from the blessed Maiden-Mother. On the night of the Nativity of the Mother of God, the brethren lay all asleep, and by the Providence of God woke not to say Mattins. But Felix was watching, as his custom was, and came betimes into the Choir. There he found the Blessed Virgin in the midst of the Choir, clad in raiment marked with the Cross of his Order, the Cross of red and blue; and with her a company of the heavenly host in like garments. And Felix was mingled among them. And the Mother of God began to sing, and they all sang with her and praised God; and Felix sang with them; and so they finished the Office. So now that he seemed to have been already called away from glorifying God on earth, to glorify Him in heaven, an Angel told Felix that the hour of his death was at hand. When therefore he had exhorted his children to be tender to the poor and to slaves, he gave up his soul to God (upon the 4th day of November) in the year of Christ 1212, in the time of the same Pope Innocent III., being four-score-and-five years old, and full of good works. (Matins, The Divine Office, Feast of Saint Felix of Valois, November 20.)
Catholics have been doing battle with Mohammedans for a long time. The conciliar revolutionaries and their partners in blood-stained crimes, the caeasars of Modernity, refuse to recognize the evil that is Mohammedanism, a refusal that stands in stark contrast with the unsuccessful but nevertheless prophetic efforts of Pope Pius II, who reigned from August 19, 1858, to August 14, 1564, to call upon the Christian princes of Europe to engage in another Crusade:
On the first of June [1459], the day the congress was set to begin, the pope came out of the palace and went to church together with the cardinals, bishops, and all the clergy, as well as monks from every order in the city, whom he had also invited to attend. In solemn array they celebrated mass; everyone showed great devotion. Next the bishop of Coron, a man of distinguished learning and character, delivered a speech setting out the pope's objectives, the rationale for the congress, and the need for action. He urged those present to stand ready and willing to further the pope's designs. Then, as all were on the point of rising, Pius gestured for silence and spoke from his throne:
“My brothers, my sons: we arrived in this city hoping to find it crowded with ambassadors sent on ahead by their princes; but we see that only a few have come. We have been deceived. The Christian people care less for their faith than we thought. We set the date for the congress well in advance. No one can say there was not enough time or that the roads were not clear. We are old and sick; we have defied the Apennines in winter. Our dear city of Rome could not detain us, beset though she is by bandits and sorely in need of our presence. At some risk, we left the papal state; we meant to rescue the Catholic faith from the clutches of the Turks who wish to destroy it. We saw how their power grew with each passing day, that their troops, already occupying Greece and Illyria, were making raids into Hungary and doing great injury to the faithful Hungarians. We feared that if Hungary were overrun, Germany, Italy, and indeed all of Europe would be subdued, a calamity bringing with it the destruction of our faith – and one which will surely come to pass unless we come to our senses! We considered how to prevent this disaster; we called a congress here; we summoned princes and peoples to come with one accord to the defense of Christendom. We came with high hopes and we weep to see them dashed.
“The depth of Christian indifference is shocking. Among some comfort breeds complacency, while greed keeps others away. The Turks are not afraid to die for their damnable superstition. But will incur the slightest expense, or endure the least discomfort, for the sake of the gospel of Christ. If we go on like this, we are done for! We'll be dead before long, unless attitudes change. And so we urge you as men of God to pray to the Lord without ceasing; may He change the minds of Christian kings, rouse the spirits of His people, and inflame the hearts of the faithful until at long last we take up arms and avenge the insults which the Turks daily inflict on our faith.
“To action, my brothers, my sons! Turn to the Lord with all your heart. Watch and pray, atone for your sins with fasting and charity, make fit signs of repentance! God, thus pleased, will have mercy on us. If we take action, He will deliver our enemies into our hands. We will stay here until we hear more of the princes' intentions. If they mean to come, we will join them in planning for the defense of Christendom. If not, we must go home again and accept the taste the Lord has decreed. But as we live and breathe, we will never abandon our goal of defending the faith, not shall we complain if circumstances demand that we lay down our life for our flock”
The cardinals and bishops listened to the pope with extraordinary attention and showered his sentiments with praise. He then offered absolution to all who made confession and duly cleared their consciences. It was reckoned that this was a good start to the project. (Pius II Commentaries, edited by Margaret Meserve and Marcello Simonetta, published by The I Tatti Renaissance Library, Harvard University Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and London, England, 2007, pp. 3-6.)
This is a gold mine of commentary on Catholics of our days, steeped as we are in the midst of apostasy from the leaders of a false religious sect who are believed to be officials of the Catholic Church because they dress the part and occupy the buildings without possessing the Catholic Faith in all of Its Holy Integrity.
Pope Pius II called Catholics to action against Mohammedans, who are active in the world again no matter whose agenda they may be serving in the process as it is all the work of the devil, whose ultimate “false flag” is the world of Modernity in which Catholics look to Protestants and others for “insights” into the events of a world whose deeper, supernatural meanings can be understood only through the eyes of the true Faith.
As was the case in Pope Pius II’s time, Catholics care less for their faith than most people realize as they are not willing to give up false attachments to human respect to recognize the true state of the Church Militant in this time of apostasy and betrayal and who even stoop so low as to continue invent newer and more improved versions of the same old “shoddy tricks of minimism to oppose or to ignore the doctrinal decisions made by the Sovereign Pontiff and set down in his "Acta".” (The doctrinal Authority of Papal allocutions.)
Pope Pius II wanted to rescue Catholic churches from the Turks.
The conciliar revolutionaries have given Mohammedans Catholic churches most voluntarily.
Pope Pius II called the Turkish belief in Mohammedanism nothing other than “damnable superstition.”
The conciliar revolutionaries hail Mohammedanism as “believers” in the “one God” Who is worshipped by all in diverse ways.
Pope Pius II found indifferentism in his flock towards the dangers posed by the Turks to the Holy Faith.
Most Catholics alive today are indifferent about the dangers posed by the conciliar revolutionaries, who are truly modern-day Turks, to the Holy Faith, preferring to go about their daily lives as though they ignore, if not openly resist and criticize, a man they recognize as the very Vicar of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on earth, thus embracing the Vatican in its conciliar captivity at a time when we must steer clear of anything and everything to do with a false religious sect that is just as loathsome in the eyes of the true God of Divine Revelation, the Most Holy Trinity, as Mohammedanism or Talmudism.
Read the address of Pope Pius II quoted above again and again to understand that all of the combined forces of Antichrist, no matter the differences they may have with one another or the battles that they may fight with each other from time to time, are now coalescing with the blessing and active assistance of the counterfeit church of concilairism, to engage in the final battle against the Catholic Church, she who is the spotless, mystical bride of her Divine Founder, Invisible Head and Mystical Bridegroom, Christ the King.
Today is the great Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Today's great feast will thus go unnoticed by most people, including most Catholics, in the world this day. We know, however, that to dishonor the Blessed Mother is dishonor her Divine Son. It cannot be this way with us. We must honor Our Lady as we pray to her, especially by means of her Most Holy Rosary, that she will present us to her Divine Son at the moment of our deaths.
Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., wrote the following about the history of this great feast day in his The Liturgical Year, teaching us that the King of France, Charles V, understood that nations must give public honor and glory to the Mother of God:
The East had been celebrating for seven centuries at least the entrance of the Mother of God into the temple of Jerusalem, when in 1372 Gregory XI permitted it to be kept for the first time by the Roman court at Avignon. Mary in return broke the chains of captivity that had bound the Papacy for seventy years; and soon the successor of St. Peter returned to Rome. The feast of the Visitation, as we saw on July 2, was in like manner inserted into the Western calendar to commemorate the re-establishment of unity after the schism which followed the exile.
In 1373, following the example of the Sovereign Pontiff, Charles V of France introduced the feast of the Presentation into the chapel of his palace. By letters dated November 10, 1374, the masters and students of the college of Navarre, he expressed his desire that it should be celebrated throughout the kingdom: "Charles, by the grace of God king of the Franks, to our dearly beloved: health in Him who ceases not to honour His Mother on earth. Among other objects of our solicitude, of our daily care and diligent meditation, that which rightly occupies our first thoughts is, that the blessed Virgin and most Holy Empress be honoured by us with very great love and praise as becomes the veneration due to her. For it is our duty to glorify her; and we, who raise the eyes of our soul to her on high, know what an incomparable protectress she is to all, how powerful a mediatrix with her blessed Son, for those who honour her with a pure heart. . . . Wherefore, wishing to excite our faithful people to solemnize the said feast, as we ourselves propose to do by God's assistance every year of our life, we send this Office to your devotion, in order to increase your joy."
Such was the language of princes in those days. Now just at the very time the wise and pious king, following up the work begun at Bretigny by our Lady of Chartres, rescued France from its from its fallen and dismembered condition. In the State, then, as well as in the Church, at this moment so critical for both our Lady in her Presentation commanded the storm, and the smile of the infant Mary dispersed the clouds. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year.)
Imagine if we had such rulers today as France had in the glories of Christendom! Public honor and glory given to the Mother of God on her feast days.
That would be something worth praising!
Dom Gueranger explained the mystical significance of this day:
Through the graceful infant now mounting the temple steps He takes possession of that temple whose priests will hereafter disown Him; for this child whom the temple welcomes to-day is His 'throne.' Already His fragrance precedes and announces Him in the Mother in whose bosom He is to be 'anointed with the oil of gladness' as the Christ among His brethren; already the angels hail her as the Queen whose fruitful virginity will give birth to all those consecrated souls who keep for the divine Spouse the 'myrrh' and the incense of their holocausts, those 'daughters of kings' who are to form her court of honour.
But our Lady's Presentation also opens new horizons before the Church. On the Cycle of the saints, which is not so precisely limited as that of the Time, the mystery of Mary's sojourn in the sanctuary of the Old Covenant is our best preparation for the approaching season of Advent. Mary, led to the temple in order to prepare in retirement, humility, and love for her incomparable destiny, had also the mission of perfecting at the foot of the figurative altar the prayer of the human race, of itself ineffectual to draw down the Saviour from heaven. She was, as St. Bernardine of Siena says, the happy completion of all the waiting and the supplication for the coming of the Son of God; in her, as in their culminating-point, all the desires of the saints who had preceded her found their consummation and their term.
Through her wonderful understanding of the Scriptures, and her conformity, daily and hourly, to the minutest teachings and prescriptions of the Mosaic ritual, Mary everywhere found and adored the Messias hidden under the letter; she united herself to Him, immolated herself with Him in each of the many victims sacrificed before her eyes; and thus she rendered to the God of Sinai the homage hitherto vainly expected of the Law understood, practised, and made to fructify in all the fullness that beseemed its divine Legislator. Then could Jehovah truly say: 'As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and return no more thither, but soak the earth and water it, and make it to spring: . . . so shall My word be. . . it shall not return to Me void, but it shall do whatsoever I please.
Supplying thus for the deficiencies of the Gentiles as well as of the Synagogue, Mary behold in the bride of the Canticle of the Church of the future. In our name she addressed her supplications to Him whom she recognized as the Bridegroom, without, however, knowing that He was to be her own Son. Such yearnings of love, coming from her, were sufficient to obtain from the divine Word pardon for the infidelities of the past and the immorality into which the wandering world was plunging deeper and deeper. How well did this ark of the New Covenant replace that of the Jews, which had perished with the first temple! It was for her, though he knew it not, that Herod the Gentile and continued the construction of the second temple after it had remained desolate since the time of Zorobabel; for the temple, like the tabernacle before it, was but the home of the ark destined to be God's throne; but greater was the glory of the second temple which sheltered the reality, than of the first which contained but the figure. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year.)
The readings for Matins in today’s Divine Office teach us about the generosity of Saints Joachim and Anne and the holy purity of their daughter, the very fairest flower of the human race:
Joachim took to wife that most eminent and praiseworthy woman, Anne. And even as the ancient Hannah, being stricken with barrenness, by prayer and promise became the mother of Samuel, so likewise this woman also through prayer and promise received from God the Mother of God, that in fruitfulness she might not be behind any of the famous matrons. And thus grace (for such is the signification of the name of Anne) is mother of the Lady (for such is the signification of the name of Mary.) And indeed she became the Lady of every creature, since she hath been mother of the Creator. She first saw the light in Joachim's house, hard by the Pool of Bethesda, at Jerusalem, and was carried to the Temple. There planted in the Lord, the dew of His Spirit made her to flourish in the courts of her God, and like a green olive she became a tree, so that all the doves of grace came and lodged in her branches. And so she raised her mind utterly above the lust of life and the lust of the flesh, and kept her soul virgin in her virgin body, as became her that was to receive God into her womb. (Saint John of Damascus, “From the Book Upon the Orthodox Faith,” as found in Matins, Divine Office, Feast of the Presentation of Blessed Virgin Mary.)
Such was Mary that her single life offereth an example to all. If then the doer displease us not, let us applaud the deed; if any other woman seek like reward, let her follow after like works. In the one Virgin how many glorious examples do shine forth. Her's was the hidden treasure of modesty, her's the high standard of faith, her's the self-sacrifice of earnestness, her's to be the pattern of maidenhood at home, of kinswomanhood in ministry, of motherhood in the Temple. O to how many virgins hath she been helpful, how many hath she taken in her arms and presented unto the Lord, saying Here is one who, like me, hath kept stainlessly clean the wedding -chamber, the marriage -bed of my Son!
Why should I go on to speak of the scantiness of her eating, or of the multiplicity of her work? how her labour seemed above human capacity, and her refreshment insufficient for human strength, her toil never missing a moment, her fasting taking two days together. And when she was fain to eat, she took not dainties, but whatsoever food came first to hand that would keep body and soul together. She would not sleep till need was, and even then, while her body rested, her soul watched, for she often talked in her sleep, either repeating things that she had read, or going on with what she was doing before sleep interrupted her, or rehearsing things executed, or talking of things projected. (Saint Ambrose, “The Book Upon Virgins,” as found in Matins, Divine Office, Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.)
It is plain that this was a woman of great earnestness and faith. The Scribes and Pharisees were at once tempting and blaspheming the Lord, but this woman so clearly grasped His Incarnation, and so bravely confessed the same, that she confounded both the lies of the great men who were present, and the faithlessness of the heretics who were yet to come. Even as the Jews then, blaspheming the works of the Holy Ghost, denied the very Son of God Who is of one substance with the Father, so afterwards did the heretics, by denying that Mary always a Virgin did, under the operation of the Holy Ghost, supply flesh to the Only begotten One of God, when He was about being born in an human Body, even so, I say, did the heretics deny that the Son of Man should be called a true Son, Who is of one substance with His Mother.
If we shall say that the Flesh, Wherewith the Son of God was born in the flesh, was something outside of the flesh of the Virgin His Mother, without reason should we bless the womb that bore Him, and the paps which He hath sucked. But the Apostle saith: "God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law", Gal, iv. 4., and they are not to be listened to who read this passage: "Born of a woman, made under the law." He was made of a woman, for He was conceived in a virgin's womb, and took His Flesh, not from nothing, not from elsewhere, but from the flesh of His Mother. Otherwise, and if He had not been sprung of a woman, He could not with truth be called the Son of man. Let us therefore, denying the doctrine of Eutyches, lift up our voice, along with the Universal Church, whereof that woman was a figure, let us lift up our heart as well as our voice from the company, and say unto the Saviour: Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. Blessed Mother, of whom one hath said thou art His Mother, Who reigns over earth and over heaven for ever.
Yea, rather, blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it. How nobly doth the Saviour say "Yea" to the woman's blessing, declaring also that not only is she blessed who was meet to give bodily birth to the Word of God, but that all they who spiritually conceive the same Word by the hearing of faith, and, by keeping it through good works, bring it forth and, as it were, carefully nurse it, in their own hearts, and in the hearts of their neighbours, are also blessed. Yea, and that the very Mother of God herself was blessed in being for a while the handmaid of the Word of God made Flesh, but that she was much more blessed in this, that through her love she keepeth Him for ever. (Homily by the Venerable Bede, as found in Matins, Divine Office, Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.)
At a time when even fully believing Catholics to look to Protestant and/or secular “conservative” commentators for ways to understand the problems of the world, we must never look to anyone for "advice" on First or Last Things who cannot make these words of Dom Prosper Gueranger his own, who cannot make his own this prayer uttered by the great Benedictine of the Nineteenth Century:
'Congratulate me, all ye that love the Lord, because when I was a little one I pleased the Most High.' Such is the invitation thou addressed to us, O Mary, in the Office chanted in thy honour; and on what feast couldst thou do so more appropriately?
When, even more little in thy humility than by thy tender age, thou didst mount, in thy sweet purity, the steps of the temple, all heaven must have owned that it was henceforth just for the Most High to take His delight in our earth. Having hitherto lived in retirement with thy blessed parents, this was thy first public act; it showed thee for a moment to the eyes of men, only to withdraw thee immediately into deeper obscurity. But as thou wast officially offered and presented to the Lord, He Himself doubtless, surrounded by the princes of His court, presented thee not less solemnly to those noble spirits as their Queen. In the fullness of the new light that then burst upon them, they understood at once thy incomparable greatness, the majesty of the temple where Jehovah was receiving a homage superior to that of their nine choirs, and the august prerogative of the Old Testament to have thee for its daughter, and to perfect, by its teachings and guidance during those twelve years, the formation of the Mother of God.
Holy Church, however, declares that we can imitate thee, O Mary, in this mystery of thy Presentation, as in all others. Deign to bless especially those privileged souls who, by the grace of their vocation, are even here below dwellers in the house of the Lord; may they be like that fruitful olive enriched by the holy Spirit, to which St. John Damascene compares thee. But is not every Christian, by reason of his Baptism, an indweller and a member of the Church. God's true sanctuary, prefigured by that of Moriah? May we through thy intercession, follow thee so closely in thy Presentation even here in the land of shadows, that we may deserve to be presented after thee to the Most High in the temple of His glory. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year.)
We must offer up our prayers and our sacrifices and humiliations and mortifications and penances to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit, so that every human being on the face of this earth will recognize in the Mother of God the Singular Vessel of Devotion without whose intercession we cannot get to Heaven and whose Immaculate Heart will indeed triumph in the end.
