Where Does One Begin?

Part One

by Thomas A. Droleskey

Unlike last year when scores of articles were written on this site to deal with the insanity of the Judeo-Masonic farce known as presidential elections, events in the counterfeit church of conciliarism this year have precluded much time being spent on the lords of Modernity or on the various crises, most of them of a "manufactured" nature, that burst into the news and then fade away before being forgotten by most who permitted themselves to become agitated to one degree or another by them.

Most people, including most traditionally-minded Catholics, live in the trees of the forest of Modernity, never wanting to admit that each of the social problems we face today are the direct result of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolution and institutionalized and propagated by the rise of the various, interrelated forces of naturalism that can be termed as Judeo-Masonry. Most Catholics permit themselves to believe that the social evils of the day can be "fought" and defeated by interdenominational, nondenominational and naturalistic means, heedless of the fact that the lies of Protestantism and the naturalism of Judeo-Masonry that they use as their weapons of choice are from the devil and only wind up institutionalizing evil all the more.

So few people even want to understand that the Pelagianism of Judeo-Masonry whose ethos infects them is based upon the diabolical assertion that the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb and His Redemptive Act on the wood of the Holy Cross are matters of complete indifference to personal and social order, that men can organize themselves, both individually and collectively in the institutions of civil governance, without any reference to the Deposit of Faith that Our Lord entrusted exclusively to His true Church and without any reliance at all upon Sanctifying Grace to root out personal sins and to grow in holiness. This Judeo-Masonic spirit is not of God. It is of the devil himself as the devil seeks to make belief in Our Lord's Incarnation and Redemptive Act a matter of complete indifference so that men will come to the false conclusion that they themselves are more or less self-redemptive, that they can remake the world on their own without the teaching and sanctifying offices of the Catholic Church.

It is this Judeo-Masonic spirit that has been shared by each of the forty-three men who have served as president of the United States of America, yes, including the late John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Although some presidents have been formally enrolled members in Masonic lodges, each has believed in the Judeo-Masonic spirit, each has believed in the lie that the civil state does not need to recognize the true religion and that Holy Mother Church possesses the right, exercised judiciously and only as a last resort following the exhausting of her Indirect Power of teaching and preaching and exhortation, to interpose herself with its officials at times when the good of souls demands her motherly intervention. The influence of the Judeo-Masonic spirit in the United States of America thus has been very insidious, convincing even most believing Catholics that it is neither prudent or necessary to even pray for the conversion of our country, which the Natural Law enjoins us to love with a fervent love of filial piety, to the true Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order.

The Judeo-Masonic spirit has been insidious in that most people, including most Catholics, are unaware of its influence upon them. This has led some Americanist Catholics, including those who are sedevacantists and those who are in the "resist and recognize" camp, to state that American Masonry is "different" from European Masonry, which attacked the Faith with violence. This is true, but not in the sense that Americanist Catholics would like to believe.

European Masonry had to attack the Faith with violence in once proudly Catholic Europe as the Cross of the Divine Redeemer was implanted so firmly there. This is the same reason that Masonry in Latin America, aided by the funds of Masonic lodges in the nascent United States of America, had to attack the Faith with such violence there in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries. There was, however, no need for Masons in the United States of America to attack the Church head on, although there were indeed times when Masons did so, to be sure. Members of Masonic lodges in the United States of America in the late-Eighteenth and then the Nineteenth Centuries knew that many Catholics would be so grateful merely for the opportunity to practice their religion openly here without the overt persecution that had taken place in England and Ireland following the Protestant Revolt in the Sixteenth Century that they would come to terms with religious indifferentism and religious liberty and cultural pluralism, the net effect being the neutralization of their Catholicism in the public arena.

Pope Leo XIII, writing in his Apostolical Letter Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae, January 22, 1899, to the longtime Americanist Archbishop of Baltimore, James Cardinal Gibbons, saw this very danger at the end of the Nineteenth Century:

But, beloved son, in this present matter of which we are speaking, there is even a greater danger and a more manifest opposition to Catholic doctrine and discipline in that opinion of the lovers of novelty, according to which they hold such liberty should be allowed in the Church, that her supervision and watchfulness being in some sense lessened, allowance be granted the faithful, each one to follow out more freely the leading of his own mind and the trend of his own proper activity. They are of opinion that such liberty has its counterpart in the newly given civil freedom which is now the right and the foundation of almost every secular state.

In the apostolic letters concerning the constitution of states, addressed by us to the bishops of the whole Church, we discussed this point at length; and there set forth the difference existing between the Church, which is a divine society, and all other social human organizations which depend simply on free will and choice of men.

It is well, then, to particularly direct attention to the opinion which serves as the argument in behalf of this greater liberty sought for and recommended to Catholics.

It is alleged that now the Vatican decree concerning the infallible teaching authority of the Roman Pontiff having been proclaimed that nothing further on that score can give any solicitude, and accordingly, since that has been safeguarded and put beyond question a wider and freer field both for thought and action lies open to each one. But such reasoning is evidently faulty, since, if we are to come to any conclusion from the infallible teaching authority of the Church, it should rather be that no one should wish to depart from it, and moreover that the minds of all being leavened and directed thereby, greater security from private error would be enjoyed by all. And further, those who avail themselves of such a way of reasoning seem to depart seriously from the over-ruling wisdom of the Most High-which wisdom, since it was pleased to set forth by most solemn decision the authority and supreme teaching rights of this Apostolic See-willed that decision precisely in order to safeguard the minds of the Church's children from the dangers of these present times.

These dangers, viz., the confounding of license with liberty, the passion for discussing and pouring contempt upon any possible subject, the assumed right to hold whatever opinions one pleases upon any subject and to set them forth in print to the world, have so wrapped minds in darkness that there is now a greater need of the Church's teaching office than ever before, lest people become unmindful both of conscience and of duty. (Pope Leo XIII, Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae, January 22, 1899.)

Pope Leo XIII was clearly and prophetically condemning the conciliarist view of Church-State relations that was presaged in no small measure by the Americanist heresy, the desire to accommodate the Faith to the Judeo-Masonic spirit rather than the desire to convert the nation to the Faith.

Pope Leo XIII had written in Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884, to describe the Judeo-Masonic spirit of indifference to religious truth as the foundation of social order, an indifference that you will see first-hand as you review the remarks of each of the presidents of the United States of America provided below:

For, from what We have above most clearly shown, that which is their ultimate purpose forces itself into view -- namely, the utter overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things in accordance with their ideas, of which the foundations and laws shall be drawn from mere naturalism.

What We have said, and are about to say, must be understood of the sect of the Freemasons taken generically, and in so far as it comprises the associations kindred to it and confederated with it, but not of the individual members of them. There may be persons amongst these, and not a few who, although not free from the guilt of having entangled themselves in such associations, yet are neither themselves partners in their criminal acts nor aware of the ultimate object which they are endeavoring to attain. In the same way, some of the affiliated societies, perhaps, by no means approve of the extreme conclusions which they would, if consistent, embrace as necessarily following from their common principles, did not their very foulness strike them with horror. Some of these, again, are led by circumstances of times and places either to aim at smaller things than the others usually attempt or than they themselves would wish to attempt. They are not, however, for this reason, to be reckoned as alien to the masonic federation; for the masonic federation is to be judged not so much by the things which it has done, or brought to completion, as by the sum of its pronounced opinions. (Pope Leo XIII, Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884.)

Yes, it is the sum of the "pronounced opinions" of Judeo-Masonry that matters, not any specific program or line of action, although there have been programs and lines of action (the establish of public schools and the mandating of curricula of study, legislation liberalizing divorce, attempts at imposing laws forbidding the wearing of clerical garb in public and of the operation of parochial schools, the promotion of contraception and abortion and licentiousness in civil law and public culture) that members of the lodges have undertaken over the course of this nation's history that were meant to be detrimental to the Faith. The Judeo-Masonic spirit convinces even believing Catholics that the social encyclical letters of our true popes don't apply to the United States of America, and that simple statements of Catholic truth, including the one below from Pope Saint Pius X's Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910, have been made "obsolete" over the course of time:

For there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)

Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order.

Not any of the over thirty-three thousand different mutations of Protestantism.

Not Talmudism.

Not Mohammedanism.

Not liberalism.

Not conservatism.

Not socialism.

Not communism.

Not any kind of naturalism.

It is wearying just to read the e-mail dispatches that I get from various well-meaning Catholics who live in heightened states of anxiety all of the time as they call for a "return" to the "founding principles whose very inherent degeneracy is now flowering into bloom, aided and abetted, of course, by the counterfeit church of conciliarism's "official reconciliation" with the principles of Modernity, represented so well by the words and actions of the conciliar "popes" and as even "cardinals" in the counterfeit church of conciliarism see fit to walk into Masonic lodges and to praise a "spirit" that is from the devil himself (see, for example, Belgian "Cardinal" Daneels embraces the Enemies of Christ, agrees that Temporal Society should not be influenced by Religion.)

The counterfeit church of conciliarism's embrace of the anti-Incarnational, Judeo-Masonic principles of Modernity has simply universalized the ethos of Americanism to which Catholics in the United States of America, no matter where they have fallen over time across the vast expanse of the ecclesiastical divide, have been nurtured (see, for example, Dialectical Americanism) has made possible an expediting of the descent into an abyss of immorality and licentiousness that was unthinkable to most Catholics sixty years ago. It is no accident at all that the "social revolutions" of the 1960s converged with the doctrinal and liturgical revolutions of the "Second" Vatican Council and its aftermath as both are, no matter their apparent differences, tools of the adversary to advance evil and its acceptance by large numbers of people, whether by great strides or small increments.

As has been noted since its release in November of 2011, Conversion in Reverse: How the Ethos of Americanism Converted Catholics and Contributed to the Rise of Conciliarism serves as a detailed examination of all of this, which is why I will be endeavoring in the next six weeks or so to produce a print-on-demand version of the book for the twelve people who might find it of some interest. Then again, twelve might be a bit on the optimistic side (look, relax, I like to poke fun at myself).

It might also be useful, though, to consider the fact that others have made the same analysis, including Bishop Richard Williamson, formerly of the Society of Saint Pius X, who wrote the following in the past decade:

Let us begin by saying that the key to the kinship between the American spirit and the spirit of Vatican II is religious liberty, which is the foundation of the United States as it is the crowning of Vatican II. In order to grasp the fundamental importance of the part played in the formation of the United States by religious liberty, let us recall a little history. You will remember that the first Europeans to land on the territory now called North America were the Spaniards in the South and the French in the North. But between Spanish Florida to the South and French Quebec to the North on the Eastern seaboard of the continent, it was the English heretics who founded the thirteen colonies which at the time of the American Revolution in 1776 were set up as a new nation. Now these English heretics, whether they were violent Protestants like the Puritans of New England in the North, or moderate Protestants like the Anglicans and Episcopalians of Virginia, either way, did not believe in religious liberty. In the North, the Puritans chased out or executed religious dissidents, and in the center, they oppressed the few Catholics in Maryland as soon as they were numerous enough to do so.

But, when it came to constituting the old English colonies into United States, a few years after the successful revolution of 1775 to 1783, political union was put in front of everything else. As Benjamin Franklin said, "If we do not hang together, we will hang separately." And so in drawing up the new Constitution, strongly influenced by Freemasons who were present and powerful, they passed over religious union, and in order to guarantee that religious divisions would not upset political union, at the head of the list of fundamental rights of citizens of the new federation, which was added a few years later, as the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights, there was established the principle of religious liberty; namely, that the government of this federation would never be able to impose on the federation as such an official religion. (Some American patriots state that the particular states or individual states are not bound by this federal regulation. That was true up to the Civil War of 1861-1865; it has been false since, because the federal government acquired, following on that war, a crushing power in relation to the governments of the particular states.)

Let us see now the fruits borne by this choice of religious liberty as the foundation stone of the new nation. And we will see that, speaking concretely, it is difficult to exaggerate just how far personal life, family life, social life and national life change when the regime of a national religion is replaced by a regime of religious liberty; or, to put it more exactly, when religious liberty is raised up into being the national religion.

The Founding Fathers of the United States were very well aware of the fact that by the Constitution of 1787 they were doing something entirely new. And they were proud of it. "We are setting up a New World on a new basis without any need of cardinals or princes," they told the world, "and we are going to show that what we are doing is superior." It is new, certainly, and it is so different from every other previous civilization that one may hesitate to give to what these innovators did the name of civilization. But is it superior? Let us see how under the new regime of religious liberty God is emptied out, religion is gutted, man is deified, truth is discredited, good is undermined and culture is vulgarized.

Firstly, the substance of God is emptied out, He becomes a mere mockery of the true Divinity. If the new nation gives in its Constitution the prime place to national union, then the interests of God and of the truth take second place. Now, God either takes the first place or He is nothing at all. According to religious liberty, people will be free to give Him all the honors they like, but they will no longer be free to give Him the first place because that would risk upsetting national unity. Now the true God does not enter into that sort of combination and hence the true God may bless this or that individual, this or that family for their objective or subjective merits in the new nation, but the national and social life, as such, under this Constitution, will be struck by a divine curse. Indeed, public life in the United States is accursed. It is an avalanche of lies, a series of false wars followed by false peaces. Strong words - Card. Pie, I think, spoke just as strongly against the Masonic republic in France of the last century. So the problem is not the United States, the problem is Masonry. There is no use closing our eyes to the damage done by Masonry.

Then as God is no longer God, man must take His place, and just as politics become the true religion under a regime of religious liberty, so man becomes god. Now there can be no sin innate in God, so, man being god, there is no sin innate in man. Hence original sin is denied, and every man becomes intrinsically good. The average American is profoundly Rousseauist (Rousseau was not an American but a Frenchman). The average American is profoundly Rousseauist; that is, he believes in the noble savage. As democrats, Americans believe in educating the people, but as Rousseauists, they destroy education because if a savage is noble, why educate him? Hence, the wretched spectacle of a system of education swallowing every year more and more fabulous sums of money in order to advance only in rottenness. Because, for example, in a democracy, there is no longer any question of admiring what is noble. Nobility of class is forbidden under the 1787 Constitution, and moral nobility is banned because it would condemn democratic lowness. Man is king and every ideal is going to be leveled downwards.

Next, truth is radically discredited because not only does man, being king and god, become the measure of what is true and what is good and what is beautiful, but also, national unity having been preferred to the truth of any particular religion because all religious division based on considerations of truth could harm national unity, then truth is degraded like religion. But by its nature, truth is absolute in its demands or it is nothing. From which it follows that in the new nation, at least in the religious and spiritual domain, truth will no longer have any importance; every contradiction will become acceptable; human reason, the reasoning faculty, will be discredited, and there will remain nothing in American heads except the single idea that ideas are worthless; hence the national anti-intellectualism. For the American intelligence there remains only the domain of matter in which thought can be taken seriously. But the human intelligence retains its thirst for truth, and hence in the United States, from the very beginning, the strong thrust towards the material sciences, the superiority of Americans in technology, materialism, commerce, comfort, material well-being and also the thrust towards sexualism; because as Malcolm Muggeridge said, "Sex is the mysticism of materialism." (THE HERESY OF AMERICANISM & VATICAN II.)

Sentimentality must triumph over even a modicum of right reason on the natural level in any nation that is founded on the principles of Modernity, which is why there has been such widespread acceptance of contraception, which is in se an overthrow of the Sovereignty of God over the sanctity and fecundity of marriage and is, at least in most cases, an abortifacient as well, and the surgical execution of innocent preborn babies, at least in some "limited" cases." Remember, only about ten percent of Americans believe that the surgical execution of innocent preborn babies should be outlawed in all circumstances.

Similarly, the triumph of sentimentality leads to the acceptance of all other social evils, including the rapidity by which the absurdity that is "marriage" between persons of the same gender as they commit gross, detestable sins of unspeakable perversity against the binding precepts of the Sixth and Ninth Commandments has gained more and more public support in just the past two or three years, something that I pointed out at the end of last month in Irreversible By Means Merely Human.

Even all of the hand-wringing, rending of garments and gnashing of teeth over the announcement by the Boy Scouts of America to succumb to the agenda of the homosexual collective was itself the product of the sentimentality that must triumph in a land not informed by the Catholic Faith and inhabited by people who do not believe that it is necessary to have belief in, access too and cooperation with Sanctifying Grace to maintain oneself in virtue, no less to climb the heights of personal sanctity in order to be ready for the moment of his Particular Judgment at any time.

Then again, good friends, the Boy Scouts of America was founded on the principles of Judeo-Masonic naturalism and self-reliance, which calls upon the "god" of religious indifference to bring boys of "good will" to together to grow in "character." No matter how well-intention nor how well-received it has been over its time by Catholic archdioceses, dioceses and parishes, the Boy Scouts of America was and remains a prime example of Americanist social ecumenism that was bound to founder the shoals of its own false premises. As I wrote nearly four years ago about the John Birch Society and like organizations, No Christ the King? No Rosary? No Good Cause.

The path of the saints is the only way to build "character" as there is none other than please the true God of  Divine Revelation, the Most Blessed Trinity, something that Pope Saint Pius X noted very clearly in his condemnation of The Sillon contained in Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910:

The same applies to the notion of Fraternity which they found on the love of common interest or, beyond all philosophies and religions, on the mere notion of humanity, thus embracing with an equal love and tolerance all human beings and their miseries, whether these are intellectual, moral, or physical and temporal. But Catholic doctrine tells us that the primary duty of charity does not lie in the toleration of false ideas, however sincere they may be, nor in the theoretical or practical indifference towards the errors and vices in which we see our brethren plunged, but in the zeal for their intellectual and moral improvement as well as for their material well-being. Catholic doctrine further tells us that love for our neighbor flows from our love for God, Who is Father to all, and goal of the whole human family; and in Jesus Christ whose members we are, to the point that in doing good to others we are doing good to Jesus Christ Himself. Any other kind of love is sheer illusion, sterile and fleeting.

Indeed, we have the human experience of pagan and secular societies of ages past to show that concern for common interests or affinities of nature weigh very little against the passions and wild desires of the heart. No, Venerable Brethren, there is no genuine fraternity outside Christian charity. Through the love of God and His Son Jesus Christ Our Saviour, Christian charity embraces all men, comforts all, and leads all to the same faith and same heavenly happiness.

By separating fraternity from Christian charity thus understood, Democracy, far from being a progress, would mean a disastrous step backwards for civilization. If, as We desire with all Our heart, the highest possible peak of well being for society and its members is to be attained through fraternity or, as it is also called, universal solidarity, all minds must be united in the knowledge of Truth, all wills united in morality, and all hearts in the love of God and His Son Jesus Christ. But this union is attainable only by Catholic charity, and that is why Catholic charity alone can lead the people in the march of progress towards the ideal civilization.

Finally, at the root of all their fallacies on social questions, lie the false hopes of Sillonists on human dignity. According to them, Man will be a man truly worthy of the name only when he has acquired a strong, enlightened, and independent consciousness, able to do without a master, obeying only himself, and able to assume the most demanding responsibilities without faltering. Such are the big words by which human pride is exalted, like a dream carrying Man away without light, without guidance, and without help into the realm of illusion in which he will be destroyed by his errors and passions whilst awaiting the glorious day of his full consciousness. And that great day, when will it come? Unless human nature can be changed, which is not within the power of the Sillonists, will that day ever come? Did the Saints who brought human dignity to its highest point, possess that kind of dignity? And what of the lowly of this earth who are unable to raise so high but are content to plow their furrow modestly at the level where Providence placed them? They who are diligently discharging their duties with Christian humility, obedience, and patience, are they not also worthy of being called men? Will not Our Lord take them one day out of their obscurity and place them in heaven amongst the princes of His people? (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)

Just as a little aside, anyone, such as "Father Joseph Phongsak of the Diocese of Chantabari, Thailand, who insists that Charity has no religion stands condemned by Pope Saint Pius X and by Pope Leo XIII, who wrote the following in Custodi Di Quella Fede, December 8, 1892:

15. Everyone should avoid familiarity or friendship with anyone suspected of belonging to masonry or to affiliated groups. Know them by their fruits and avoid them. Every familiarity should be avoided, not only with those impious libertines who openly promote the character of the sect, but also with those who hide under the mask of universal tolerance, respect for all religions, and the craving to reconcile the maxims of the Gospel with those of the revolution. These men seek to reconcile Christ and Belial, the Church of God and the state without God.

16. Every Christian should shun books and journals which distill the poison of impiety and which stir up the fire of unrestrained desires or sensual passions. Groups and reading clubs where the masonic spirit stalks its prey should be likewise shunned.

17. In addition, since we are dealing with a sect which has pervaded everything, it is not enough to remain on the defensive. We must courageously go out into the battlefield and confront it. That is what you will do, beloved children, opposing press to press, school to school, organization to organization, congress to congress, action to action.

18. Masonry has taken control of the public schools, leaving private schools, paternal schools, and those directed by zealous ecclesiastics and religious of both sexes to compete in the education of Christian youth. Christian parents especially should not entrust the education of their children to uncertain schools. Masonry has confiscated the inheritance of public charity; fill the void, then, with the treasure of private relief. It has placed pious works in the hands of its followers, so you should entrust those that depend on you to Catholic institutions. It opens and maintains houses of vice, leaving you to do what is possible to open and maintain shelters for honesty in danger. An anti-Christian press in religious and secular matters militates at its expense, so that your effort and money are required by the Catholic press. Masonry establishes societies of mutual help and credit unions for its partisans; you should do the same not only for your brothers but for all the indigent. This will show that true and sincere charity is the daughter of the One who makes the sun to rise and the rain to fall on the just man and sinner alike. (Pope Leo XIII, Custodi Di Quella Fede, December 8, 1892.)

Although Pope Leo XIII was addressing himself to the influence of Judeo-Masonry in his own native Italy, his words apply universally as they are applicable to the circumstances in which those in the so-called "developed" world find themselves and as they stand was ringing condemnations of the very ethos of conciliarism that is at the root of its very founding and to which Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis has been and continues to be an unapologetic evangelist.

We should be not be surprised at the descent of the world into an abyss of madness as our true popes have seen this coming for the past two hundred years as they understood what had been happening in the three hundred years prior to the onset of the American and French Revolutions. Most Catholics, including most Catholics here in the United States of America, have no such understanding of root causes, which is why they get lost in the trees and permit themselves to become so very agitated over various crises and believe that the farce of an electoral system in the "free" United States of America will somehow "turn things around" when the demographics of the nation have changed dramatically in the recent past and will continue to do so far into the future.

Where does one being to deal with this madness?

Well, with basic Catholic truth. That's where.

1. Original Sin and our own Actual Sins are the sources of all social problems bar none.

2. Even the souls of the Baptized suffer from the vestigial after-effects of Original Sin, the darkened intellect and the weakened will and a general inclination to sin as a result of the overthrowing of our higher, rational faculties in favor of our lower, sensual passions), and Actual sins, which incline the soul all the more to sin absent a good, integral Confession to a true bishop or a true priest and earnest efforts to make reparation for those sins to the Most Holy Trinity through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

3. All of human activity without any exception whatsoever is to be defined by the Incarnation, Nativity, Hidden Years, Public Ministry and Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

4. Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ founded one Church, the Catholic Church, to be the sole repository of His Deposit of Faith and the sole dispenser of the Treasury of Graces that He won for us by the shedding of every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us from our sins.

5. The civil state has a positive obligation found in the binding precepts of the Deposit of Faith to recognize the true Church and to accord her the favor and the protection of laws, yielding to her solemn authority (exercise judiciously and only as a last resort following the discharge of her Indirect Power of teaching and preaching and exhortation) when the good of souls demands her intervention.

6. The Protestant Revolt was a rebellion against the Divine Plan that God Himself instituted to effect man's return to Him through His true Church and to order society according to the truths contained in the Deposit Faith.

7. The Protestant Revolt popularized anticlericalism and radical egalitarian individualism, convincing those who had the misfortune of following its diabolically-inspired leaders that the Divine Redeemer did not establish a visible, hierarchical church upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope, and that it is the individual "believer," not the Catholic Church," that is the "interpreter" of Sacred Scripture, which is said to be, albeit falsely, the sole source of Divine Revelation.

8. Rationalists of the so-called "Enlightenment" or "Age of Reason" rejected the influence of any religion, true or false, on public life, using the Protestant Revolution's rejection of the Social Kingship of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for their own nefarious ends as the lodges of Freemasonry popularized the falsehood that men of divergent religious beliefs (or no religious belief at all) could live together in "peace" as they pursued the common temporal good.

9. The radical anticlericalism and radical egalitarian individualism of the Protestant Revolt, itself an exercise in rationalism, and of the open rationalists of the "Enlightenment" and the lodges convinced men that it was possible for construct a purely secular or naturalistic civil government that made no reference to the fact of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Incarnation and His Redemptive Act on the wood of the Holy Cross.

10. A written constitution, therefore, that admits of no higher authority than the text of its own words for its interpretation and enforcement is as defenseless in the hands of power-hungry presidents and "activist" judges and reckless legislators as the Bible itself is in the hands of Protestants and the open rationalists of naturalism. If the authority of the true Church established by God Himself and which He protects and vivifies is rejected as the basis of understanding Sacred Scripture, leading to a variety of mutually contradictory "interpretations" and a never-ending mutation of sects based upon these "interpretations, why should the "authority" of the framers of a written constitution, including that of the United States of America, matter? Are but mere men deserving of more respect than God Himself? A nation that refuses to recognize the true Church as having the absolute last say on those things that pertain to the good of souls is at the mercy of whoever happens to hold the levers of power in the various branches of government and/or whatever the sentiments happen to be of a majority of citizens at any point in time. There can never be a "fixed" standard of constitutional interpretation when there is no recognition of and submission to the authority fixed by God Himself in His Catholic Church. Who killed the Constitution? The men who wrote it, that's who. Very simple for a believing Catholic to understand.

11. Human beings do not have, whether acting individually or collectively in the institutions of civil governance, any authority to defy the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law or the Natural Law as these have been entrusted to the authority of the Catholic for their infallible explication. Sovereignty (ultimate governing authority) resides not with the people or with any level of government (state, local, nation) but with Christ the King. No national or state legislature has any authority to pass legislation contrary to God's eternal laws no matter what percentage of the "people" in a nation or state desire such legislation. We do not believe in states' rights. We believe in the rights of Christ the King.

12. Limited government is not the product of "libertarianism" or any other "philosophy" or ideology. Limited government is the natural consequence of the state that is ordered properly according to the eternal principles of Catholic Social Teaching, principles that can be adapted to any legitimate form of government (presidential-congressional, parliamentary-ministerial, monarchical, Federal, unitary, confederal, inquisitorial, adversarial--or any combination thereof). Those who would rule in a civil state constituted according to the eternal principles of Catholic Social Teaching would recognize their obligation to rule justly according to the Mind of the Divine Redeemer, keeping in mind that the salvation of their own immortal souls depends in large measure on the just discharge of the civil powers entrusted to them as they seek to foster those conditions in civil society conducive to the honor and glory of the Most Blessed Trinity and thus to salvation of the souls of their fellow citizens. We do not turn to "libertarians," whether they be Catholic or Jewish agnostics, for "guidance" on the proper role of the civil state. We turn to the true popes, who have condemned religious liberty and the separation of Church and State, and we keep in mind the saintly example of such rulers as Saint Louis IX, King of France (Letter to His Son Philip).

13. Every nation must acknowledge not only Christ the King as it submits to the exercise of His Social Kingship by the Catholic Church but it must give public honor to the Mother of God, she who made possible our salvation by her perfect fiat to the Will of the Father at the Annunciation and through whose hands flow the Sanctifying Graces won for us by her Divine Son. Governments must organize pilgrimages and Rosary processions in honor of the Mother of God. Monarchs themselves humbled themselves by walking barefoot in such processions in the Middle Ages. Are we more "enlightened" and "sophisticated" than they? I hope for our own sakes that we are not!

It's Christ or chaos.

It's Catholicism or the abyss.

Yesterday, July 13, 2013, was the ninety-sixth anniversary of Our Lady's third apparition to Jacinta and Francisco Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos in the Cova da Iria near Fatima, Portugal. It was supreme act of mercy on the part of Christ the King to permit His Most Blessed Mother to show these three shepherd children Hell itself so that they could learn there are souls there in order for them to take seriously the message He entrusted to His Blessed Mother to save others, including us(!) from going there:

"I want you to come here on the 13th of next month, [August] to continue to pray the Rosary every day in honour of Our Lady of the Rosary, in order to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war, because only she can help you."

"Continue to come here every month. In October, I will tell you who I am and what I want, and I will perform a miracle for all to see and believe."

Lucia made some requests for sick people, to which Mary replied that she would cure some but not others, and that all must say the rosary to obtain such graces, before continuing: "Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say many times, especially when you make some sacrifice: O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary."

"You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.

"To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world."

Mary specifically told Lucia not to tell anyone about the secret at this stage, apart from Francisco, before continuing: "When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery: 'O my Jesus, forgive us, save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are most in need.' "

Lucia asked if there was anything more, and after assuring her that there was nothing more, Mary disappeared off into the distance. (Our Lady's words at Fatima.)

Our Lady promised on July 13 1917, to return to request the consecration of Russia by the Holy Father. She came to visit Sister Lucia in Tuy, Spain, on June 13, 1929, to specify the terms of this consecration:

"The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops in the world, to make the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means. There are so many souls whom the Justice of God condemns for sins committed against me, that I have come to ask reparation: sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray." (Our Lady's words at Fatima.)

As I have noted on this site before, some will protest that the Church never passed on the June 13, 1929, apparition of Our Lady to Sister Lucia in Tuy, Spain, believing that the terms of the proper consecration of Russia were spelled out in the July 13, 1917 apparition, which terms were fulfilled, they believe, when Pope Pius XII singly consecrated Russia to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart in 1952. Others, however, believe, as I do, that Our Lady came in 1929 to make the specific request for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart by a pope with all of the world's bishops. As was pointed out in Our Lady Does Not Act on Her Own nearly six years ago now, the Church never ruled on Our Lady's December 10, 1925, apparition to Sister Lucia dos Santos wherein she specified the practice of the Five First Saturdays to be kept in reparation for sins against her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart:

Have compassion on the heart of your most holy Mother, covered with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation. Look, my daughter, at my heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console me and say that I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me." (Our Lady's words at Fatima.)

The Church has given, at least in a de facto sense, recognition to this private apparition made in 1925, making it plausible, at the very least, that the 1929 apparition of Our Lady to Sister Lucia in the convent at Tuy, Spain, in which Our Lady called for the collegial consecration of Russia by a pope with all of the world's bishops to be an elaboration on that same July 13, 1917, message in the Cova da Iria in which she first called for the Communions of reparation on the First Saturdays and called for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart by the pope.

Although even some who accept the legitimacy of the 1929 apparition contend that the time for such a collegial consecration has passed, noting correctly that World War II could have been prevented by such a collegial consecration, Sister Lucia continued to insist that the collegial consecration needed to be done. With all due respect to those who do not accept these conclusions, I would like to submit that the state of the world-at-large and that of the Church Militant on earth during this time of apostasy and betrayal is a direct chastisement for the fact that Popes Pius XI and XII were advised badly to refrain from consecrating Russia collegially with all of the world's bishops to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We must, therefore, bear the cross with joy and gratitude in this time of chastisement, recognizing that the errors of Modernity in the world and those of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism are intertwined with each other as but similar manifestations of the errors of Russia (see Conversion of Russia Update). We have much to suffer for our own sins. We must suffer well as we place not our trust in the princes of naturalism in this world or the princes of false "reconciliation" and "dialogue" with false religions in the counterfeit church of conciliarism. We must place our trust in the Immaculate Heart of Mary as we give this heart, out which the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was formed, all of the sufferings of the present moment so that she can present whatever merit we earn from patiently and lovingly enduring them to the Throne of the Most Blessed Trinity.

Catholicism is the one and only foundation of social order. You have heard this before? You will keep hearing until the day I die or the day that I am unable to continue work on this site as a result of physical and/or mental infirmity, whichever shall first occur (and I realize that some of you believe that the latter condition obtains at the present time). Catholicism is the only and only foundation of personal and social order. Period. It is Catholicism alone that men and their nations are reconciled to Christ the King through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary our Queen.

We must, therefore, enfold ourselves into the love of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we make reparation for our own many sins, which are so responsible for the worsening of the state of the Church Militant on earth and of the world-at-large, as we seek to restore all things in Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen, praying as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits.
