Thomas A. Droleskey
The pro-abortion Vice President of the United States of America, a Catholic who is in perfectly "good standing" in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism despite his support for the killing of innocent preborn babies by chemical and surgical means, has taken the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in vain in an interview with the Wall Street Journal (interview excerpts). One can imagine that the earthy Biden, who recently discussed the attractiveness of the women of The Ukraine, is, like so many other pro-abort Catholics in public life, a serial blasphemer who takes Our Lord's Holy Name in vain regularly.
As I noted twenty-seven months ago when writing about the serial blasphemer named Don Imus, blasphemy is a big deal, although even many "conservative" Catholics of a naturalist outlook do not seem to think that it is. Some would have us believe that blasphemy is just part of the "rough and tumble" of everyday life in American politics and that one should simply "grow up" and not expect politicians to be choir boys. Well, what's wrong with being a choir boy? Who says that we can't aspire to keep our tongues in check and to only use the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with reverence and with devotion as we bow our heads as the mention of this Name above all names?
If this is not a big issue, you see, then Saint Bernardine of Siena was wrong to have sought to stop offenses against the Holy Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and to make acts of reparation for said offenses. Father Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto was wrong to have sought to stamp our blaspheme in the cow town of Tombolo, Italy, when he was a nearly-ordained priest in 1858. No Catholic can come to the "defense" of a serial blasphemer. No Catholic can be silent about a serial blasphemer.
Blasphemy needs to be condemned. Blasphemy needs to be corrected. Acts of reparation need to be made for blasphemy, which has no "civil rights" in the slightest, as I pointed out twenty-seven months ago in Par for the Course in the Land of Pluralism: A Serial Blasphemer. Unrepentant, serial blasphemy leads to other sins of the tongue, including those of rash judgment and slander and baseless, groundless speculations about them moral lives of others without a shred of evidence whatsoever. After all, it is a relatively easy thing to slander a mere creature when one gets used to blaspheming God Himself.
Alas, a nation that rejects the Divinely-instituted authority of the Catholic Church to exercise the Social Reign of Christ the King after the exhausting of her Indirect Power of teaching and preaching and exhortation is defenseless to prevent the gradual decline of "social standards," is powerless to prevent an eclipse of even natural reason by the forces of unbridled passion, which need to be restrained by the teaching authority and sanctifying offices of the Catholic Church. The loose tongue of the likes of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., but a product of the abject lie that is American pluralism, which asserts that error has "civil rights" and that no one religion can lay claim to the civil state's official recognition and submission. This is the path to social anarchy, as the popes of the Nineteenth and early-Twentieth Centuries consistently and prophetically reminded us.
Once again, let us turn to Pope Leo XIII, writing in Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885:
To hold, therefore, that there is no difference in matters of religion between forms that are unlike each other, and even contrary to each other, most clearly leads in the end to the rejection of all religion in both theory and practice. And this is the same thing as atheism, however it may differ from it in name. Men who really believe in the existence of God must, in order to be consistent with themselves and to avoid absurd conclusions, understand that differing modes of divine worship involving dissimilarity and conflict even on most important points cannot all be equally probable, equally good, and equally acceptable to God.
So, too, the liberty of thinking, and of publishing, whatsoever each one likes, without any hindrance, is not in itself an advantage over which society can wisely rejoice. On the contrary, it is the fountain-head and origin of many evils. Liberty is a power perfecting man, and hence should have truth and goodness for its object. But the character of goodness and truth cannot be changed at option. These remain ever one and the same, and are no less unchangeable than nature itself. If the mind assents to false opinions, and the will chooses and follows after what is wrong, neither can attain its native fullness, but both must fall from their native dignity into an abyss of corruption. Whatever, therefore, is opposed to virtue and truth may not rightly be brought temptingly before the eye of man, much less sanctioned by the favor and protection of the law. A well-spent life is the only way to heaven, whither all are bound, and on this account the State is acting against the laws and dictates of nature whenever it permits the license of opinion and of action to lead minds astray from truth and souls away from the practice of virtue. To exclude the Church, founded by God Himself, from the business of life, from the making of laws, from the education of youth, from domestic society is a grave and fatal error. A State from which religion is banished can never be well regulated; and already perhaps more than is desirable is known of the nature and tendency of the so-called civil philosophy of life and morals. The Church of Christ is the true and sole teacher of virtue and guardian of morals. She it is who preserves in their purity the principles from which duties flow, and, by setting forth most urgent reasons for virtuous life, bids us not only to turn away from wicked deeds, but even to curb all movements of the mind that are opposed to reason, even though they be not carried out in action.
I defy any Roman Catholic to say that this is untrue. I defy any Roman Catholic to deny that Catholicism and Catholicism alone is the sole foundation of personal and social order. Anyone who believes otherwise, including Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and his band of conciliarist revolutionaries, falls under condemnation of Pope Pius XI in Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922:
Many believe in or claim that they believe in and hold fast to Catholic doctrine on such questions as social authority, the right of owning private property, on the relations between capital and labor, on the rights of the laboring man, on the relations between Church and State, religion and country, on the relations between the different social classes, on international relations, on the rights of the Holy See and the prerogatives of the Roman Pontiff and the Episcopate, on the social rights of Jesus Christ, Who is the Creator, Redeemer, and Lord not only of individuals but of nations. In spite of these protestations, they speak, write, and, what is more, act as if it were not necessary any longer to follow, or that they did not remain still in full force, the teachings and solemn pronouncements which may be found in so many documents of the Holy See, and particularly in those written by Leo XIII, Pius X, and Benedict XV.
There is a species of moral, legal, and social modernism which We condemn, no less decidedly than We condemn theological modernism.
Catholics do not demonstrate their support for one who persists in serial blasphemy by overlooking it or minimizing it. Catholics do not overlook blasphemy. They do not remain indifferent in the face of blasphemy. Catholics make reparation for blasphemy, understanding that the violation of the Second Commandment is a grave offense to God. Then again, why should a man who believes that innocent preborn babies can be butchered in their mothers' wombs under cover of the civil law in full and absolute violation of the Fifth Commandment be concerned about breaking the Second Commandment? More to the point, of course, is that one who is predisposed to breaking the First through Third Commandments will have less difficulty in breaking the other Commandments, including the Fifth Commandment's absolute prohibition against the direct, intentional taking of any innocent human life from the first moment of conception through all subsequent stages until natural death.
Indeed, Saint Louis IX, King of France, wrote to his son, the future Philip III, to seek root out all sin from the land, especially blasphemies and heresies. Why? Because those who can blaspheme the Holy Name of God and put into question the Sacred Truths He has revealed exclusively to the Catholic Church are ultimately far more dangerous to civil society than those who commit physical crimes against property and persons. The great exemplar of Catholic civil rule wrote the following:
15. Let no one be so bold as to say, in your presence, words which attract and lead to sin, and do not permit words of detraction to be spoken of another behind his back.
16. Suffer it not that any ill be spoken of God or His saints in your presence, without taking prompt vengeance. But if the offender be a clerk or so great a person that you ought not to try him, report the matter to him who is entitled to judge it.. . .
32. Dear son, freely give power to persons of good character, who know how to use it well, and strive to have wickednesses expelled from your land, that is to say, nasty oaths, and everything said or done against God or our Lady or the saints. In a wise and proper manner put a stop, in your land, to bodily sins, dicing, taverns, and other sins.
It is one thing, however, to sin and to be sorry, seeking out the ineffable Mercy of the Most Sacred Heart in the hospital of Divine Mercy that is the confessional and to reform one's life once and for all in cooperating with the graces won for us on Calvary and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, the Mediatrix of All Graces. Behold! A sinner, a terrible sinner, writes these articles! I hate my sins, however, I despise each and every single one them from the depths of my being, and I hope to live long enough to do penance for them in this passing, mortal vale of tears so that I might die purified in this life of all temporal punishment due to my forgiven sins and to my general attachment to my Venial faults and failings.
Far worse, both to individuals and to their societies, however, is the situation of those who persist in their sins unrepentantly. It is really inexcusable for any Catholic to refuse to exercise the Spiritual Works of Mercy (two of which are to instruct the ignorant and to admonish the sinner) with those, whether in or out of the Faith, who blaspheme the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. How can any Catholic claim to love Our Blessed Mother while turing a blind eye and a deaf eyes to blasphemies committed against her Divine Son and against her, who made possible our very salvation by her perfect fiat to the Father's Holy Will at the Annunciation?
Who in the conciliar structures is going to remonstrate with the serial supporter of baby-killing under cover of the civil law, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., about his blasphemy against the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? Perhaps one or two conciliar "bishops" will do so? Maybe. Perhaps. Most conciliar officials, however, do not consider sins against the Second Commandment to be "that" serious as they are concerned about the "really" "big" sins such as "global warming" and failing accord false religions the "respect" that they believe is their due.
How many conciliar officials express any concern at all, no less condemn, blasphemies committed against Our Lord and Our Lady in motion pictures and in television programming? How many lay Catholics understand the grievous nature of these offenses? Not many. After all, it's rather hard to understand the gravity of blasphemy in the popular culture when one is subjected to the liturgical abomination of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service, which is of its nature offensive to Our Lord and injurious to the souls for whom He offered up His very life to His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Father on the wood of the Holy Cross?
Therein, of course, lies the rub of this matter. Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and most of his conciliar "bishops" are themselves serial blasphemers as they break the First Commandment by esteeming the symbols and the values and the places of the diabolical "worship" of false religions and as they break the Second Commandment by using the Name of God to refer to the beliefs of such false religions as Talmudic Judaism and Mohammedanism. Ratzinger/Benedict has asked for God's "blessings" upon Zionist athletes, upon Methodists, upon Baptists, upon the "work" of the United Masonic Nations organization. Ratzinger/Benedict is a serial violator of the First and Second Commandments, doing and saying things in full public view that would have caused countless numbers of canonized saints of the Catholic Church to condemn the currently reigning false "pontiff" as an enemy of Our Lord and of the souls for whom He shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross.
Ratzinger/Benedict's visits to the United States of America from April 15 to 20, 2008, and to Jordan and Israel from May 8 to May 15, 2009, were replete with violations of the First and Second Commandments.(See
Asking Our Lady to Repair the Damage and
Words and Actions of Antichrist.) Most Catholics in the world sat silent as they were not at all bothered by Ratzinger/Benedict's blasphemies and his acts of apostasies. Most Catholics in the world think as little of the teaching of the Catholic Church that has consistently condemned actions and words such as those uttered by Ratzinger/Benedict just as most Catholics in the world would think very little of the pro-abortion Vice President of the United States of America, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., taking the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in vain and just, as noted above, as they think so little about blasphemy in the midst of popular culture, including on sports talk programs that are listened to so regularly by so many Catholics.
Bishop George Hay, reiterating at the beginning of the Nineteenth Century the absolute and unbroken teaching of the Catholic Church, explained how the Catholic Church viewed words and actions such as belong to the Modernist mind and heart of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI:
Q. These laws are very clear and strong; but has the Christian church always observed and enforced the observance of them?
A. The spirit of Christ, which dictated the Holy Scriptures, and the spirit which animates and guides the Church of Christ, and teaches her all truth, is the same; and therefore in all ages her conduct on this point has been uniformly the same as what the Holy Scripture teaches. She has constantly forbidden her children to hold any communication, in religious matters, with those who are separated from her communion; and this she has sometimes done under the most severe penalties. In the apostolical canons, which are of very ancient standing, and for the most part handed down from the apostolical age, it is thus decreed: "If any bishop, or priest, or deacon, shall join in prayers with heretics, let him be suspended from Communion". (Can. 44)
Also, "If any clergyman or laic shall go into the synagogue of the Jews, or the meetings of heretics, to join in prayer with them, let him be deposed, and deprived of communion". (Can. 63)
So also, in one of her most respected councils, held in the year 398, at which the great St. Augustine was present, she speaks thus: "None must either pray or sing psalms with heretics; and whosoever shall communicate with those who are cut off from the Communion of the Church, whether clergyman or laic, let him be excommunicated". (Coun. Carth. iv. 72 and 73)
The same is her language in all ages; and in this she shows herself to be the true mother, who will not suffer her children to be divided. She knows her heavenly spouse has declared that "no man can serve two masters; we cannot serve God and Mammon;" and therefore she must either have them to be hers entirely, or she cannot acknowledge them as such. She knows His holy apostle has protested that there can be no "participation, no fellowship, no concord, no pact, no agreement between the faithful and the unbeliever;" and therefore she never can allow any of her faithful children to have any religious communication with those of a false religion and corrupted Faith.(The Laws of God Forbidding All Communication in Religion With Those of a False Religion.)
It is not such a "big deal" to utter Our Lord's Holy Name in vain? It is not such a "big deal" to engage in the "ecumenism" and "inter-religious dialogue" and inter-religious "prayer" services? Says who? Not the Catholic Church. Indeed, she continues to teach that sins against the First and Second Commandments are indeed the foundation of sins against each of the other Commandments, which is why we must seek to cleave exclusively to shepherds in the Catholic catacombs who make no concessions at all to concilairism or to the nonexistent legitimacy of its false, blaspheming "shepherds" who have made their wretched "reconciliations" with the spirit of Modernity as true sons of Modernism itself.
All the more reason, ladies and gentlemen, for us to offer acts of reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. We must make reparation for our many own sins as well as those of others, imitating the holy simplicity of Francisco Marto in praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit. If Francisco Marto, a mere child, had to pray many Rosaries before going to Heaven, my friends, imagine how many Rosaries us worldlings, us "Magdalene souls" as His Excellency Bishop Daniel Dolan reminds us so frequently, have to pray before we can make it to Purgatory, no less get into Heaven itself!
Let us be earnest about our Catholic duties as the consecrated slaves of Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Send Vice President Biden and Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI truly blessed Green Scapulars and truly blessed Miraculous Medals. Pray for their conversions. Participate in
Bishop McKenna's Rosary Crusade for the restoration of Holy Mother Church and for the conversion of this nation and every nation to the Social Reign of Christ the King as we seek to rid ourselves of sin in our own lives and thus are more disposed to showing ourselves to be friends of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, friends of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus as we treat all others in true Charity, which wills their eternal good: the possession of the Beatific Vision of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost for all eternity in Heaven.
