Messiah Without A Purpose

by Thomas A. Droleskey

The various "messiahs" "or saviours" of naturalism usually have some kind of "salvific" mission.

Karl Marx had his vision for a classless, stateless society that would come into existence at the end of "history" as the final stage of human evolution resulted in the abolition of the state following the death or conversion of all capitalists and the confiscation and equitable redistribution of their property and wealth.

Adolf Hitler had his vision for the thousand year reign of the Aryan "super race" that would kill off the "impure" and enslave the "inferior" races.

Abraham Lincoln was committed to the preservation of the "union" no matter how many Americans would have to kill each other in the process.

Woodrow Wilson had a vision for a world organized around the principles of American "exceptionalism" and his belief in a "New World Order" around Masonic principles of naturalism.

Franklin Roosevelt had a incoherent, hastily slapped together vision of social engineering that increased the size, the power and the scope of the Federal government to "solve" the problems associated with the Great Depression.

Lyndon Baines Johnson had his "War on Poverty" and his "Great Society" designed to remake American domestic policy in his own statist image.

William Jefferson Blythe Clinton had his vision about himself being the most wonderful person in the world.

Not to be outdone, of course, Barack Hussein Obama has his own vision about "change," a vision that is made up of his own image in the mirror and very little else that is not provided to him from the screens of a TelePrompTer.

Well, yes, true, of course, Caesar Obamus does believe in the wanton killing of innocent preborn babies under cover of the civil law. He does believe in statism. He does believe in selling out the legitimate national security interests of the United States of America to those of globalist agencies intent on destroying the sovereignty of nation-states. He does believe in spending oodles and oodles of money that the government of the United States of America does not have and will never be able to pay. He does believe in a health-care "reform" program that is actually a nationalization of the health-care industry that will result in the rationing of medical treatment in exactly the same manner as done in the United Kingdom. And, yes, he does believe in the suzerainty of the Chicago White Sox (for whose front office I made pizza on October 21, 1977, which was officially proclaimed by their owner at the time, the legendary Bill Veeck, as "Lone Ranger Appreciation Day"--let's see run with this on the egregious website!).

As a composite whole, however, there is very little coherency to the worldview of Barack Hussein Obama, who floats to the naturalist "left" almost as freely as his predecessor, George Walker Bush, floated to the "naturalist" right and the naturalist "center" and to the naturalist nowhere. Even some honest naturalists of the false opposite of the "left" (false opposites once again, my friends, because both the "left" and the "right" agree that it is possible for men to know personal and social order absent a due subordination to the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ entrusted exclusively to the Catholic Church for Its eternal safekeeping and infallible explication and absent a firm reliance upon Sanctifying Grace to grow in sanctity as they make reparation for their sins) are beginning to admit that Barack Hussein Obama, the Marxist-trained, pro-abort stats, is an empty suit intellectually and philosophically.

Here is just one recent commentary from the "left" that notes Obama's hollow core:

Perhaps it was inevitable. A man who voted "present" 130 times in the Illinois Legislature couldn't possibly morph into a savvy and decisive leader of the free world in such a short time.

Yet even the pessimists among us are alarmed by the cloud of uncertainty and confusion hanging over the White House. Less than a year on the job, President Obama seems to have run out of both charm and ideas.

The biggest issues facing a president are the economy and national security. They are the whole ballgame. Everything else is detail.

It is now frighteningly obvious Obama doesn't have a clear, understandable strategy on either.

It's one thing to lack confidence in a president's plan. It's quite another when he doesn't have a plan.

He began his hokey job summit by conceding many viewed it as a gimmick, then promptly confirmed those suspicions by saying it was time to put aside partisanship. This from the guy who gives blank checks and high praise to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the most partisan congressional leaders in recent memory.

Obama also said he was open to new ideas, then shot down a corporate executive who complained too many big-government initiatives were creating uncertainty and leading employers to hold off hiring.

The president said it was a "legitimate concern," then plunged ahead by rote to defend health care, carbon taxes and massive education spending -- the very things the exec said were the problem.

Why bother telling him anything? He doesn't listen to what he doesn't want to hear.

He certainly didn't listen to the advisers who warned him his Afghanistan speech would come off as a muddle. It was clear to some in his endless war council that sending 30,000 more troops to fight a war he called vital, then slapping an 18-month limit was by definition a contradiction.

Predictably, liberals blasted the escalation, under which Obama has tripled the American troop presence from about 35,000 to over 100,000. Conservatives blasted the deadline as dangerous to those troops and their mission.

As a fuming Sen. John McCain memorably declared, "You can't have it both ways."

Apparently, you can if you are Barack Obama. At least you think you can.

He is probably taking comfort in a common political conceit. To wit, that bipartisan criticism proves the policy is the sound middle between extremes.

Not this time. This time, the middle path reflects a transparent effort at political compromise that has nothing to do with sound policy. After three months of deliberation, he punted on the central question.

Either the war is vital, or it's not. It can't be vital until an arbitrary deadline.

Two days of hearings on Capitol Hill didn't clarify the issue. Top aides alternately called the deadline flexible and important, leaving the muddle in place.

If Obama has any sense of the dimensions of the doubts he faces, he's keeping it well hidden. He's going to Copenhagen to push for global emissions rules, even as the science consensus he touts was arrived at by cooking the books and squelching dissent.

If he actually succeeded getting the rules in place at home, they would add another burden to job creation and economic growth. Still he plunges forward, unmolested by inconvenient facts.

Facts schmacts, reality is what the White House says it is.

Take the $787 billion stimulus bill, the economic equivalent of an empty suit. Just in time for the jobs summit, Vice President Joe Biden suddenly declared it saved or created up to 1.6 million jobs. That was a cool million jobs more than claimed before.

Poof. A million more jobs. That was easy. (Bam: Man in the muddle)

Obama will be quite at the phony baloney climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in a few days as scientists present their fake data to a sea of world leaders who believe in one fake, phony, fraud "solution" to a problem that is not caused by atmospheric changes and will not be resolved by "lifestyle" changes on the part of men and the policies enacted by their governments. This sounds something like a monthly faculty meeting (things that I abhorred during my teaching career) or, more accurately, like the semi-annual meetings of the National Conference of Conciliar "Bishops," times in which men who believe in insanity talk about falsehoods and are convinced that they need to implement more insanity in the name of "progress."

Caesar Obamus will also be going to Oslo, Norway, to receive his thoroughly undeserved "Nobel Prize for Peace" (see Figures of Antichrist Applauding Each Other), where I don't think that he is going to speak in the following terms about world peace:

If we stop to reflect for a moment that these ideals and doctrines of Jesus Christ, for example, his teachings on the necessity and value of the spiritual life, on the dignity and sanctity of human life, on the duty of obedience, on the divine basis of human government, on the sacramental character of matrimony and by consequence the sanctity of family life -- if we stop to reflect, let Us repeat, that these ideals and doctrines of Christ (which are in fact but a portion of the treasury of truth which He left to mankind) were confided by Him to His Church and to her alone for safekeeping, and that He has promised that His aid will never fail her at any time for she is the infallible teacher of His doctrines in every century and before all nations, there is no one who cannot clearly see what a singularly important role the Catholic Church is able to play, and is even called upon to assume, in providing a remedy for the ills which afflict the world today and in leading mankind toward a universal peace.

Because the Church is by divine institution the sole depository and interpreter of the ideals and teachings of Christ, she alone possesses in any complete and true sense the power effectively to combat that materialistic philosophy which has already done and, still threatens, such tremendous harm to the home and to the state. The Church alone can introduce into society and maintain therein the prestige of a true, sound spiritualism, the spiritualism of Christianity which both from the point of view of truth and of its practical value is quite superior to any exclusively philosophical theory. The Church is the teacher and an example of world good-will, for she is able to inculcate and develop in mankind the "true spirit of brotherly love" (St. Augustine, De Moribus Ecclesiae Catholicae, i, 30) and by raising the public estimation of the value and dignity of the individual's soul help thereby to lift us even unto God.

Finally, the Church is able to set both public and private life on the road to righteousness by demanding that everything and all men become obedient to God "Who beholdeth the heart," to His commands, to His laws, to His sanctions. If the teachings of the Church could only penetrate in some such manner as We have described the inner recesses of the consciences of mankind, be they rulers or be they subjects, all eventually would be so apprised of their personal and civic duties and their mutual responsibilities that in a short time "Christ would be all, and in all." (Colossians iii, 11)

Since the Church is the safe and sure guide to conscience, for to her safe-keeping alone there has been confided the doctrines and the promise of the assistance of Christ, she is able not only to bring about at the present hour a peace that is truly the peace of Christ, but can, better than any other agency which We know of, contribute greatly to the securing of the same peace for the future, to the making impossible of war in the future. For the Church teaches (she alone has been given by God the mandate and the right to teach with authority) that not only our acts as individuals but also as groups and as nations must conform to the eternal law of God. In fact, it is much more important that the acts of a nation follow God's law, since on the nation rests a much greater responsibility for the consequences of its acts than on the individual. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)

Unfortunately, of course, the conciliarist-in-chief, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI believes a lot of the same things as Barack Hussein Obama, especially as concerns the ability of "international organizations" to help to "save the earth," although Ratzinger/Benedict tempers that sentiment by believing that men must adhere to a moral order, oblivious to the fact, reiterated by Pope Saint Pius X in Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910, that there can be no true moral order absent the conversion of men and their nations to the Catholic Faith, something that Ratzinger/Benedict, ever the believer in the "new ecclesiology" and false "ecumenism" does not believe is at all necessary to "save the earth."

It is really amazing when one considers that the fact that Obama and Ratzinger/Benedict both reject the teachings of our true popes concerning the right ordering of men and their nations such as this one from the aforementioned Notre Charge Apostolique:

Here we have, founded by Catholics, an inter-denominational association that is to work for the reform of civilization, an undertaking which is above all religious in character; for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)

Men who believe that the world can be "bettered" without the reform of individual lives in cooperation with the graces won for them on the wood of the Holy Cross by the shedding of every single drop of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord and that flow into their souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, who was conceived without sin on this very day in her mother's womb, will, of course, come to believe they they are laws unto themselves who can actually make the "world" better on their own powers. This is the same thing as the heresy of semi-Pelagianism, that is, the belief that men can more or less stir up graces in their own souls to be good and to save themselves and to do pretty much anything they set their minds to doing. Behold the chaos that exists in the world as a result.

Obama, the forthcoming "Nobel Prize for Peace" laureate, does not realize that he undermines the conditions for peace in the world by promoting sin under the cover of the civil law. It is one thing to be sorry and to seek out the mercy of the Divine Redeemer in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance. It is quite another to sin unrepentantly, worse yet to promote sin under cover of the civil law and in every aspect of popular culture. No one who promotes sin, which caused Our Lord to suffer unspeakable horrors in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death and which caused His Blessed Mother's Immaculate Heart to be pierced through and through with those Seven Swords of Sorrow, is a friend of God. Indeed, one who promotes sin is an enemy of God and of the souls for whom He shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross.

Barack Hussein Obama does not realize the words of Pope Pius XI, contained in Casti Connubii, December 31, 1930, apply to him and to each of the idiot climate change propagandists who will be assembling in Copenhagen and to each of the nitwits who will be applauding him as he gives his TelePromTer-prompted address in Oslo, Norway, as he receives the worthless peace prize there:

Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven. (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 30, 1930.)

Obama also does not realize that it is impossible for him or any of the other delusional morons, sycophants, nincompoops, communists, environmentalists, naturalists, feminists, statists, socialists, pantheists, evolutionists, and conciliarists who will gather in Copenhagen (where there will be 1,200 Limos, 140 Private Planes for "climate change you can believe in") or Oslo in coming days to pursue any kind of just social order when they themselves pursue, both individually and collectively, things that are contrary to the peace and happiness of eternity:

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)

Indeed, Obama and his fellow nitwits and morons and sycophants and crazies actually sow seeds for disorder and chaos and domestic violence and war by promoting one thing after another that is opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. ObamaCare itself, for example, is a gigantic exercising in social engineering of planning to deny treatment to the elderly or the "unfit" or the "economically burdensome" just as life itself is denied to the preborn by means of chemical abortifacients and surgical abortion. This exercise in social engineering can only bring more of God's wrath down upon the United States of America while causing one wound to justice after another. (And this is to say nothing of the fact that Obama's track record in Copenhagen is not a good one. The last time he went there the International Olympics Committee voted out his adopted City of Chicago from consideration for hosting the 2106 Summer Olympics. Similar results await him this time, of course.)

An article by Nat Hentoff, a  self-professed pro-life Jewish atheist, explains some of the horrors of ObamaCare, a power-grab that has been reviewed on this site in several articles in recent months:

Marc K. Siegel is a practicing internist and an associate professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center. In "Destroying the Doctor-Patient Bond" (New York Post, Aug. 3), he points to Section 123 of the House bill, which "establishes a Health Benefits Advisory Committee, chaired by the surgeon general, which makes recommendations to the HHS secretary on what should be covered and what shouldn't.

"These rulings from on high," Dr. Siegel warns, "are problematic, since useful treatments or tests for one patient are not appropriate for another. Appeals are bound to be time-consuming and largely ineffective. This is the government interfering directly with the practice of medicine."

Is this what presidential candidate Barack Obama meant by "Change we can believe in?" Even if you voted for him, is this the change you will believe in if your doctor is overruled by the government in his or her treatment decisions about you?

Remember those federal bureaucrats recently ruling on breast cancer screening? Dr. James Thrall, chairman of the American College of Radiology and a Harvard Medical School professor, said the resulting furor of dissent by doctors showed (Wall Street Journal, Nov. 18) that rulings "based on costs and large group averages, not individuals" lead him to fear that, "we are entering an era of deliberate decisions where we choose to trade people's lives for money."

Is there anything you want to say to your representatives in the House or Senate before the final vote is taken? If you don't act urgently now, you may become part of another collective statistic - American annual death rates.

I'm scared, and I do mean to scare you.

We do not elect the president and Congress to decide how short our lives will be. That decision is way above their pay grades. (The Cold Heart of ObamaCare.)

Nations that reject the true Faith must descend into madness sooner or later. There is no other alternative.

Similarly, of course, we must descend into madness in our own lives if we do attempt, despite our sins and failings, to cooperate with the graces won for us by Our Lord and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of our Mediatrix and Advocate, Mary our Immaculate Queen, as we seek to make reparation for our sins by living more penitentially, especially during this season of Advent, spending time in prayer with Our Lord in His Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament and by praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

We may not live to see the triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart as the fruit of the fulfillment of her Fatima Message with our own eyes. We must remember, however, that the one and only Messiah Whose Nativity we await with joyful expectation during these days of Advent has given unto the Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother the cause of world peace. We ignore Our Lady's Fatima Message at peril to ourselves and to a world that is looking for messiahs in all of the wrong places now just as it was over 2,009 years ago when Our Lord Himself was born in the cradle in the stable in the cave in Bethlehem.
