Just A Logical Progression

by Thomas A. Droleskey

Instant access to news events as they are occurring has been made a regular feature of daily life as a result of various technological advances that very few people could have foreseen fifty years ago. I am able, for instance, to stop work on this article and check on any number of newspaper websites to obtain access to breaking news. Those with the infernal device known as television, about which, of course, I written quite a lot on this site (including We're Not in Kansas Any More five days ago now), can actually watch those breaking news events as the minutes and hours of a day fritter away and opportunities to pray more and more Rosaries of reparation are lost as the siren sounds of twenty-four hour-a-day news channels beckon for own undivided attention.

This instant access to news events as they are occurring can lead to figurative "panic attacks" as one or more of the odious naturalists who serve in the civil government threaten this or that draconian measure in violation of the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law and thus contrary to the common temporal good. Such instant news and/or commentary is awash in naturalism as various news events are reported and examined and "analyzed" solely in naturalistic terms. This is as the devil desires, of course, as he, our ancient adversary, does not want us to have time for supernatural reflection and prayer. The devil wants to keep us agitated all of the time, which is why he is so deliriously happy whenever Catholics spend most of their waking hours looking at the sounds and images of a world that has been shaped by his own warfare against the Social Reign of Christ the King of Mary our Immaculate Queen.

What we must realize every day of our lives, including in these days when one set of naturalist devils is about to exit the halls of power in Washington, D.C., as another set of naturalist devils marches in to replace them, that the cascade of "bad news" these days is the result, remotely speaking, of Original Sin, and, proximately speaking, of our own Actual Sins, including the Actual Sins of men who revolted against the Divine Plan that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ instituted to effect man's return to Him through the Catholic Church that He Himself founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope. There has been a logical progression of degeneration ever since the sinful Augustinian monk named Martin Luther nailed his ninety-five theses to the door of Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517, and Modernity's warfare against the Catholic Faith and the Social Reign of Christ the King began in earnest.

Everything we are witnessing at this present time is but a contemporary anti-Epiphany, if you will, a denial of the Offertory for the Feast of the Epiphany, now in the third day of its glorious octave:

The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts: and all kings of the earth shall adore Him: all nations shall serve Him.

Although all kings are required to adore Christ the King, there are (including the State of Vatican City now in the control of the conciliar revolutionaries) seven nations (Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Liechtenstein, Malta and Monaco) on the face of this earth that recognize Catholicism as their official religion. Most nations, such as the United States of America, extant today are indifferent to the true religion. Some, such as Mohammedan or Communist or Buddhist or Hindu nations, are overtly hostile to the true Faith. What a telling thing it is that men expect to pursue social order within nations and peace among them without acknowledging and adoring Christ the King as He has revealed Himself to us exclusively through the Catholic Church. What a telling thing it is that most nations define their "national interest" by serving purely temporal ends on naturalistic terms rather than by serving the true God Who was adored by the the Three Kings from the East as representatives of the Gentile world.

We must not permit ourselves to be swept away by the hysteria whipped up by the devil and fanned by the naturalists in the media whose job it is to give a forum to the naturalists of the organized crime families of naturalism known as Democrat Party and the Republican Party. Take a good look at the photograph of the five naturalists who posed together in the Oval Office of the White House yesterday, January 7, 2009, and consider carefully that there are no essential differences among these five men as each, no matter what specific differences they may have with each other on the margins of various issues, believes that it is possible to lead a nation absent a subordination to the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has entrusted to His true Church, the Catholic Church, and that it is not at all necessary for men to have believe in, access to and cooperation with Sanctifying Grace to be virtuous in a due submission to that Deposit of Faith.

Included in this group photograph of naturalists are two members of Skull and Bones (George Herbert Walker Bush, George Walker Bush) who engaged in needless wars that were not authorized by an act of Congress as specified by Section 8 of Article I of the United States Constitution as they expanded the size and the scope of the Federal government.

Included in this photograph is a man, James Earl Carter, Jr., who enabled the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the revolutionaries in El Salvador and Nicaragua and Iran at almost every turn.

Included in this group are two quintessential relativists (Barack Hussein Obama and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton) who are also unrepentant globalists.

Each of these five men supports chemical baby killing in all instances. Each of these five men supports the surgical killing of babies in some instances, although only one former president, Jimmy Carter, of all people, has actually spoken out against the "abortion culture" (Washington Times - Carter condemns abortion culture), something that did not, of course, keep him, Carter, from endorsing the pro-abortion Obama.

Four of these five men have participated in the surrender of American national sovereignty to organizations of global governance. One, Obama, will continue do so following his inauguration on January 20, 2009. (I know. I know. It could be said also that only four of the five are native-born citizens and that the one who might not be a native-born citizen received his intellectual "formation," such as it was, from an overt Communist, Frank Marshall Davis, in Hawaii in his youth.)

Each of these five men, along with Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, of course, reject the immutable teaching of the Catholic Church that the civil state has the obligation to recognize the true religion and to pursue the common temporal good in light of man's Last End. They are, including the Baptist Jimmy Carter, naturalists to the very core of their beings who accept the foundational premises of the modern civil state that have progressed so logically into a situation where the future naturalist-in-chief, Barack Hussein Obama, says so matter-of-factly that we are going to have to live with Federal budgetary deficits of over one trillion dollars annually for the foreseeable future (that's $1,000,000,000,000--that's a whole lot of zeroes).

Alas, a nation that lives with a spiritual deficit running into the trillions upon trillions of sins whose commission is sponsored and funded by the Federal government will find itself all too logically engrossed in all manner of fiscal problems. Steeped in the errors of Modernity that are reaffirmed almost daily by the lords of conciliarism (bright lights in their own right who cannot figure out that endorsing the blasphemy of the separation of Church and State even in once Catholic countries such as Spain and Italy would result quite logically in the removal of Crucifixes from classrooms and courtrooms and other public facilities), the leaders of the naturalist "left" and of the naturalist "right" will always try to devise naturalistic "solutions" to problems that have their remote cause in Original Sin and their proximate causes in the Actual Sins of men (and the after-effects of those Actual Sins).

Pope Leo XIII, writing in Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884, explained the common thread that unites Protestants, adherents of the Talmuds and the "brothers" of the Masonic lodges:

Now, the fundamental doctrine of the naturalists, which they sufficiently make known by their very name, is that human nature and human reason ought in all things to be mistress and guide. Laying this down, they care little for duties to God, or pervert them by erroneous and vague opinions. For they deny that anything has been taught by God; they allow no dogma of religion or truth which cannot be understood by the human intelligence, nor any teacher who ought to be believed by reason of his authority. And since it is the special and exclusive duty of the Catholic Church fully to set forth in words truths divinely received, to teach, besides other divine helps to salvation, the authority of its office, and to defend the same with perfect purity, it is against the Church that the rage and attack of the enemies are principally directed.

In those matters which regard religion let it be seen how the sect of the Freemasons acts, especially where it is more free to act without restraint, and then let any one judge whether in fact it does not wish to carry out the policy of the naturalists. By a long and persevering labor, they endeavor to bring about this result -- namely, that the teaching office and authority of the Church may become of no account in the civil State; and for this same reason they declare to the people and contend that Church and State ought to be altogether disunited. By this means they reject from the laws and from the commonwealth the wholesome influence of the Catholic religion; and they consequently imagine that States ought to be constituted without any regard for the laws and precepts of the Church.

Rather than "solving" anything, of course, such a naturalistic, anti-Incarnational approach winds up worsening our lot no matter which political party controls the White House or Congress. The "brave new world" of Aldous Huxley is well upon us, and anyone who thinks that e-mail "alerts" or petition drives are going to stop the logical progression of this march into the deepest recesses of Hell fails to understand that we are being chastised for our sins at the present time and that the only path out of the madness runs through Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart and into the bright, burning furnace of love that is her Divine Son's Most Sacred Heart.

To counter this anti-Epiphany spirit of Modernity and Modernism, therefore, we must make use of this Octave of the Epiphany to intensify our prayers for the day when all kings will indeed adore Christ the King and when all nations will indeed serve Him as He has revealed Himself through His true Church. Yes, we must make Christ the King manifest in our own home as we reject worldliness and train our children to reject those things in the popular culture that come from the devil and lead souls to Hell for all eternity (as I discussed in We're Not in Kansas Any More five days ago now). We must also pray and make sacrifices as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through His Most Blessed Mother's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart to resist the currents of the world and to plant a few seeds for the restoration of the Christendom that was acknowledged and prophesied by the very fact that the Three Kings of the East--Saints Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar--bowed down before the Infant King on this very day, Epiphany, 2008 years ago.

Father Benedict Baur wrote about Christ the King in the context of Epiphany in his The Light of the World:

The feast of the Epiphany is and should be a feast which is celebrated in honor of Christ the divine King. We pay our homage to Him by our prayers and by our celebration of the liturgy, which we share with the Church in heaven and on earth. We pay homage to Him by submitting our intelligence to faith, to His words, to His teachings, to His gospel, to His Church and its dogmas. And even if all others were to desert Him, yet we should remain true to Him and cry out with St. Peter, "Thou has the words of eternal life" (John 7:69). We honor Him by subjecting our wills to His ordinances and commands, to His sacraments, and to His Church. "He that hath My commandments and keepeth them; he it is that loveth Me" (John 14:21). "He that heareth you [the Church], heareth Me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth Me" (Luke 10:16). We pay homage to Him by subjecting ourselves to His operation in us. We honor Him by our resignation and subjection in afflictions and humiliations, by our inner purification and mortifications, and by the duties and obligations of our everyday life. We glorify Him by not attributing to ourselves, to our own good will, to our own efforts or strength, the good works which we perform. With the Apostle we humbly acknowledge, "For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to accomplish, according to His own good will" (Phil. 2:13). With grateful hearts we cry out, "Not to us, O lord, not to us; but to Thy name give glory" (Ps. 113:1) We honor Him by applying to our lives the admonition of the Epistle of today's Mass: by making our bodies and souls a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God. We glorify Him if we transform ourselves by His spirit and shape our lives according to the pattern He has given us, doing only that which is in accord with the will of God and is perfect and pleasing to Him, living in union with Holy Mother the Church.

Christ is King. That is the theme of the feast of Epiphany. "And we saw His glory, the glory as it were of the only-begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). This glory Christ has won through His victory on the cross. For this reason neither the Church nor the members of the mystical body can achieve glory without a sacrifice and a cross. "Ought not Christ to have suffered these thins and so to enter into His glory? (Luke 24:26).

Therefore we bring our bodies and all that we posses sand present them as an offering on the altar. With Stephen we share the passion of Christ, and thus we go to attain our glory in the Offertory, in the Consecration, and in Holy Communion.

We are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, on the altar. This we are to do not only at the time of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, but at every hour of the day and in the ordinary affairs of everyday life. We must not be conformed to the manner of this world, but we must reform ourselves through the renewal of our spirit. We are thus to prove what is the good and the acceptable, the perfect will of God. We are to live in the consciousness that all of us together form one living organism, the body of Christ (in the community of the Church), and that we are members of one another and of Christ our Lord (Epistle). We live the life of the whole, the life of the community, the life of the mystical body of Christ. That is the Lord's command. "This is My commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:12).

May Christ be King of my whole being, of my thoughts, my will, my affections and of my desires. May His will be done in all things. This is my ambition when I celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with Him today. I consecrate myself to Him, and through Him and in Him I consecrate myself to the Father. (Father Benedict Baur, O.S.B., The Light of the World, Volume I, B. Herder Book Company, St. Louis, Missouri, 1953, pp. 146-148.)

Shut off the television. Turn off the blathering naturalists on "talk radio." Get to true offerings of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition by true bishops and true priests who make no concessions to conciliarism or its false shepherds. Pray more Rosaries. Make a good, integral Confessional each week. Study the encyclical letters of the true popes. Do some good spiritual reading (in addition, of course, to Scriptural reading). Make profitable use of the time God is giving us in this New Year of 2009 to grow in the Faith so that the events of the world no longer alarm us but are occasions for us to simply trust more and more in the graces won for us by shedding of every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, the Mediatrix of All Graces, as we count it as a privilege to live in these times and to make reparation for our own many sins by suffering--and suffering well and joyfully--for the cause of Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen!

A continued blessed Feast of the Epiphany of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to you all!
