As Always, It's Christ or Chaos in Souls and in the World

by Thomas A. Droleskey

The excerpt from the then Monsignor Fulton J. Sheen's 1931 essay, "A Plea for Intolerance," that was featured on page one of every issue of Christ or Chaos in its years as a printed journal from September of 1996 to June of 2003 and has been featured on the home page of this website since its "debut" in February of 2004 warrants a closer look:

"America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance. It is not. It is suffering from tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so much overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded....

"...In the face of this broadmindedness, what the world needs is intolerance."

A person whose immoral soul that is not in a state of Sanctifying Grace is in the grip of the devil. Such a person is more inclined to resist and to reject the known as a result of sin, whether Original or Moral, on his intellect, which is darkened more and more the one plunges into and persists unrepentantly in a life of sin. Such a person is more inclined to have his disorderly passions accentuated as he seeks, whether wittingly or unwittingly, to become a "god" unto himself, living as a beast in the pursuit of one seemingly "good" set of "pleasures" to the next. Each of the Seven Capital Sins (Pride, Lust, Envy, Greed, Anger, Sloth, Gluttony) begins to take hold to a greater degree, causing a steep fall into an abyss of vices that are the opposites of the virtues that are meant to be built up by means of Sanctifying Grace. Vestiges of self-control might remain in such a soul. The inevitable result, however, in a soul steeped in the ravages of Original Sin or Mortal Sin is a blindness that leads one to commit one of the two gravest sins against the Holy Ghost, Presumption or Despair.

Those who have never had the life of Sanctifying Grace in their souls live in a world of shadows, never seeing themselves or the world in which they live clearly. Those who have lost the life of Sanctifying Grace in their souls have chosen to proceed from the light of the true Faith into the shadows, becoming easy prey for Protestant proselytism and/or for the allure of the "salvific" nature of various secular, naturalistic political ideologies and "philosophies," including materialism and relativism and positivism, as the foundation for personal "happiness" in this passing, mortal vale of tears. Those who live in such a manner must seek refuge in "numbers," so to speak, assuaging themselves with the fact that most other people live as they do, that every aspect of civil law and popular culture ratifies their descent into a world of chaos that is the rotten fruit of persisting in lives of vice and dissolution.

Catholic missionaries, starting with the Apostles on Pentecost Sunday, sought to convert men and their nations so as to bring them out, both individually and collectively, from the shadows of darkness into the light of the true Faith. Savage, barbaric practices were eradicated. The worship of false gods was ended. True civilization, one that is centered around the Cross of the Divine Redeemer as It is held high by Holy Mother Church, emerged, something that was noted by Pope Leo XIII in Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885:

There was once a time when States were governed by the philosophy of the Gospel. Then it was that the power and divine virtue of Christian wisdom had diffused itself throughout the laws, institutions, and morals of the people, permeating all ranks and relations of civil society. Then, too, the religion instituted by Jesus Christ, established firmly in befitting dignity, flourished everywhere, by the favor of princes and the legitimate protection of magistrates; and Church and State were happily united in concord and friendly interchange of good offices. The State, constituted in this wise, bore fruits important beyond all expectation, whose remembrance is still, and always will be, in renown, witnessed to as they are by countless proofs which can never be blotted out or ever obscured by any craft of any enemies. Christian Europe has subdued barbarous nations, and changed them from a savage to a civilized condition, from superstition to true worship. It victoriously rolled back the tide of Mohammedan conquest; retained the headship of civilization; stood forth in the front rank as the leader and teacher of all, in every branch of national culture; bestowed on the world the gift of true and many-sided liberty; and most wisely founded very numerous institutions for the solace of human suffering. And if we inquire how it was able to bring about so altered a condition of things, the answer is -- beyond all question, in large measure, through religion, under whose auspices so many great undertakings were set on foot, through whose aid they were brought to completion.

The reversal of the effects of Christian civilization has occurred ever since the time of the naturalistic, humanistic, relativist Renaissance to the Protestant Revolt and the so-called "Enlightenment" to our present day. Christian Europe has been subdued by barbarous notions, which have changed it from a civilized to a savage condition, from true worship to superstition. The tide of Mohammedan conquest is advancing, almost entirely the result of the hedonism and relativism that has contracepted indigenous Europeans out of existence. Large percentages of the remaining descendants of the barbaric tribes (Celts, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Normans, Gauls, Franks, Goths, Lombards, Teutons, Magyars, Slavs, Vikings) have devolved back into the barbarism of their pre-Christian ancestors, mutilating their bodies with all manner of metal objects pierced into their flesh and with tattoos befouling their skin, willing to believe in and follow any "belief" save for that which produced true order in Europe, Catholicism. This is all very natural and logical. People who lose Sanctifying Grace in their immortal souls are prone, sooner or later, to descend back into barbarism, taking their very nations with them in the process.

Writing fifteen years to the day after he had issued Immortale Dei, Pope Leo XIII himself noted this simple fact in Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900:

We are indeed now very far removed in time from the first beginnings of Redemption; but what difference does this make when the benefits thereof are perennial and immortal? He who once hath restored human nature ruined by sin the same preserveth and will preserve it for ever. "He gave Himself a redemption for all" (1 Timothy ii., 6)."In Christ all shall be made alive" (1 Corinthians xv., 22). "And of His Kingdom there shall be no end" (Luke i., 33). Hence by God's eternal decree the salvation of all men, both severally and collectively, depends upon Jesus Christ. Those who abandon Him become guilty by the very fact, in their blindness and folly, of their own ruin; whilst at the same time they do all that in them lies to bring about a violent reaction of mankind in the direction of that mass of evils and miseries from which the Redeemer in His mercy had freed them.

Those who go astray from the road wander far from the goal they aim at. Similarly, if the pure and true light of truth be rejected, men's minds must necessarily be darkened and their souls deceived by deplorably false ideas. What hope of salvation can they have who abandon the very principle and fountain of life? Christ alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John xiv., 6). If He be abandoned the three necessary conditions of salvation are removed.

It is surely unnecessary to prove, what experience constantly shows and what each individual feels in himself, even in the very midst of all temporal prosperity-that in God alone can the human will find absolute and perfect peace. God is the only end of man. All our life on earth is the truthful and exact image of a pilgrimage. Now Christ is the "Way," for we can never reach God, the supreme and ultimate good, by this toilsome and doubtful road of mortal life, except with Christ as our leader and guide. How so? Firstly and chiefly by His grace; but this would remain "void" in man if the precepts of His law were neglected. For, as was necessarily the case after Jesus Christ had won our salvation, He left behind Him His Law for the protection and welfare of the human race, under the guidance of which men, converted from evil life, might safely tend towards God. "Going, teach ye all nations . . . teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Matthew xxviii., 19-20). "Keep my commandments" john xiv., 15). Hence it will be understood that in the Christian religion the first and most necessary condition is docility to the precepts of Jesus Christ, absolute loyalty of will towards Him as Lord and King. A serious duty, and one which oftentimes calls for strenuous labour, earnest endeavour, and perseverance! For although by Our Redeemer's grace human nature hath been regenerated, still there remains in each individual a certain debility and tendency to evil. Various natural appetites attract man on one side and the other; the allurements of the material world impel his soul to follow after what is pleasant rather than the law of Christ. Still we must strive our best and resist our natural inclinations with all our strength "unto the obedience of Christ." For unless they obey reason they become our masters, and carrying the whole man away from Christ, make him their slave. "Men of corrupt mind, who have made shipwreck of the faith, cannot help being slaves. . . They are slaves to a threefold concupiscence: of will, of pride, or of outward show" (St. Augustine, De Vera Religione, 37). In this contest every man must be prepared to undergo hard ships and troubles for Christ's sake. It is difficult to reject what so powerfully entices and delights. It is hard and painful to despise the supposed goods of the senses and of fortune for the will and precepts of Christ our Lord. But the Christian is absolutely obliged to be firm, and patient in suffering, if he wish to lead a Christian life. Have we forgotten of what Body and of what Head we are the members? "Having joy set before Him, He endured the Cross," and He bade us deny ourselves. The very dignity of human nature depends upon this disposition of mind. For, as even the ancient Pagan philosophy perceived, to be master of oneself and to make the lower part of the soul, obey the superior part, is so far from being a weakness of will that it is really a noble power, in consonance with right reason and most worthy of a man. Moreover, to bear and to suffer is the ordinary condition of man. Man can no more create for himself a life free from suffering and filled with all happiness that he can abrogate the decrees of his Divine Maker, who has willed that the consequences of original sin should be perpetual. It is reasonable, therefore, not to expect an end to troubles in this world, but rather to steel one's soul to bear troubles, by which we are taught to look forward with certainty to supreme happiness. Christ has not promised eternal bliss in heaven to riches, nor to a life of ease, to honours or to power, but to longsuffering and to tears, to the love of justice and to cleanness of heart.

From this it may clearly be seen what consequences are to be expected from that false pride which, rejecting our Saviour's Kingship, places man at the summit of all things and declares that human nature must rule supreme. And yet, this supreme rule can neither be attained nor even defined. The rule of Jesus Christ derives its form and its power from Divine Love: a holy and orderly charity is both its foundation and its crown. Its necessary consequences are the strict fulfilment of duty, respect of mutual rights, the estimation of the things of heaven above those of earth, the preference of the love of God to all things. But this supremacy of man, which openly rejects Christ, or at least ignores Him, is entirely founded upon selfishness, knowing neither charity nor selfdevotion. Man may indeed be king, through Jesus Christ: but only on condition that he first of all obey God, and diligently seek his rule of life in God's law. By the law of Christ we mean not only the natural precepts of morality and the Ancient Law, all of which Jesus Christ has perfected and crowned by His declaration, explanation and sanction; but also the rest of His doctrine and His own peculiar institutions. Of these the chief is His Church. Indeed whatsoever things Christ has instituted are most fully contained in His Church. Moreover, He willed to perpetuate the office assigned to Him by His Father by means of the ministry of the Church so gloriously founded by Himself. On the one hand He confided to her all the means of men's salvation, on the other He most solemnly commanded men to be subject to her and to obey her diligently, and to follow her even as Himself: "He that heareth you, heareth Me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth Me" (Luke x, 16). Wherefore the law of Christ must be sought in the Church. Christ is man's "Way"; the Church also is his "Way"-Christ of Himself and by His very nature, the Church by His commission and the communication of His power. Hence all who would find salvation apart from the Church, are led astray and strive in vain.

As with individuals, so with nations. These, too, must necessarily tend to ruin if they go astray from "The Way." The Son of God, the Creator and Redeemer of mankind, is King and Lord of the earth, and holds supreme dominion over men, both individually and collectively. "And He gave Him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes, and tongues shall serve Him" (Daniel vii., 14). "I am appointed King by Him . . . I will give Thee the Gentiles for Thy inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession" (Psalm ii., 6, 8). Therefore the law of Christ ought to prevail in human society and be the guide and teacher of public as well as of private life. Since this is so by divine decree, and no man may with impunity contravene it, it is an evil thing for the common weal wherever Christianity does not hold the place that belongs to it. When Jesus Christ is absent, human reason fails, being bereft of its chief protection and light, and the very end is lost sight of, for which, under God's providence, human society has been built up. This end is the obtaining by the members of society of natural good through the aid of civil unity, though always in harmony with the perfect and eternal good which is above nature. But when men's minds are clouded, both rulers and ruled go astray, for they have no safe line to follow nor end to aim at.

Although there have been demonic forces at work, principally through the efforts of the organized forces of naturalism represented by Judeo-Masonry and its vast network of allies, in the world for nearly six centuries that have brought the entire world into an abyss of barbarism, the fact that so many Catholics have themselves plunged headlong into this abyss can be explained, at least in part, to the fact that even those who "practice" the Faith in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism have been deprived of true sacraments, thereby being deprived of Sanctifying Grace and more "open" to "ideas" and "practices" that are contrary to God's Divine Revelation and thus detrimental to the sanctification and salvation of their own souls (and to the right ordering of their own nations). The loss of the sacramental life leads to the loss of the sensus Catholicus and an emergence into naturalism, admitting that there are gradations of evil in the naturalist abyss, ranging from a blithe, passive indifferentism to the Faith to an adamant, demonic adherence to all that is evil.

The loss of Sanctifying Grace in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism has been accompanied by a monstrous series of abominations offered, falsely, as we know, in the "name" of the Catholic Church. The Novus Ordo Missae, whose invalidity was proved to my satisfaction last year (especially helpful is His Excellency Bishop Mark Pivarunas's Comments on Mike Duddy’s Article on the Eucharistic Form of Consecration and Response to Mr. Duddy’s Open Letter to Bishop Pivarunas and CMRI Religious), offends God by offering Him a worship that is false and seeks to "inculturate" in many instances (see Paragraph 395 of the General Instruction to the Roman Missal) the pagan practices and barbaric superstitions that are violations of the First Commandment and the calling down of the wrath of God upon those who are to blaspheme Him in this manner. Anyone who thinks that God is pleased with this kind of profanation in the context of what is purported to be the "worship" of His Church is refusing to look honestly at the fact that the great saints prior to the ethos of conciliarism sought to eradicate the very pagan practices and barbaric superstitions that are now part of so-called "papal" extravaganza Masses.

Such things, of course, include (but are by no means limited to) the pagan "blessing" to the "four winds" that was offered at Mission San Juan Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano, California, a few years ago. They have included pagan dances of American Indian tribes, replete with half-naked dancers, as a regular feature in Novus Ordo "liturgies." They have included naked women bringing up the "gifts" to John Paul in Africa. They have included John Paul II having a urn of dirt being dumped on his head in a pagan ritual prior to a "papal" mass in Mexico in 2002. Indeed, "archbishop" Piero Marini, the longtime master of ceremonies for John Paul II and an acolyte of Annibale Bugnini himself, admitted in 2003 that he used "papal" "Masses" to establish "precedents" that would be followed in the rest of the world. Long gone and consigned to the Orwellian memory hole are the days when missionaries such as Saint Boniface mocked the false gods and dared to destroy them in the presence of those steeped in such false worship.

Thus it is that all of the old practices that were eradicated as Christian civilization was implanted have returned, not only as a result of the forces of organized naturalism of Judeo-Masonry but by and with the full approbation of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, thus giving these practices an approval that Catholics devoid of true sacraments are powerless to resist and to oppose. The Druids are back. The Aztecs are back. The Mayans are back. The Incas are back. The false religions of the various Indiana tribes of North America are back. The animists are back in full force. Environmentalists and "animal rights" activists have brought back pantheism as the natural consequence of the triumph of naturalism and the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King it wrought in conjunction with the Protestant Revolt. Feminism has brought back "goddess" worship. Conciliarism extols each of these falsehoods, causing endless confusion in the lives of Catholics and bringing down upon itself and the world the very wrath of God, Who is not averse to withdrawing His graces from those who profane Him so wantonly and arrogantly and defiantly.

No country can be truly civilized without the Catholic Faith. Orestes Brownson pointed this out in his 1846 essay on National Greatness, Pope Leo xIII summarized the matter very directly in Immortale Dei:

To exclude the Church, founded by God Himself, from the business of life, from the making of laws, from the education of youth, from domestic society is a grave and fatal error. A State from which religion is banished can never be well regulated; and already perhaps more than is desirable is known of the nature and tendency of the so-called civil philosophy of life and morals. The Church of Christ is the true and sole teacher of virtue and guardian of morals. She it is who preserves in their purity the principles from which duties flow, and, by setting forth most urgent reasons for virtuous life, bids us not only to turn away from wicked deeds, but even to curb all movements of the mind that are opposed to reason, even though they be not carried out in action.

Believers in American national mythology, however, deceive themselves badly if they think that this crude, vulgar, anti-Catholic land, steeped in Calvinist materialism and Protestant relativism and Judeo-Masonic naturalism and sentimentality, has ever been "civilized." Although Christ once reigned as King in the monasteries established by the Irish monks in North America long before Christopher Columbus helped to lay the groundwork for Christendom in the Americas on the island of San Salvador in 1492, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has never reigned as King through His Catholic Church in the secular, naturalistic, pluralistic, religiously indifferentist United States of America, meaning that it was destined from its false foundations to deteriorate to the point of barbarism we are experiencing at present. Fifty million children have been killed in this self-styled "civilized" nation by means of surgical abortion. Another 650,000,000 have been killed as a result of the chemical abortifacients manufactured and sold here in this "civilized" country. No, there is no true civilization without the Catholic Faith.

Indeed, much to the consternation of Father Pierre Jean De Smet, S.J., and the other great Catholic missionaries of the West, the American Indians were slaughtered and dispossessed and rounded up like cattle to "clear the way" for the "civilized" white settlers who were given or permitted to lay claim to the lands upon which the Indian tribes roamed. The frontier spirit of "individualism," which eschewed "organized" religion, especially the true religion, triumphed as whole swaths of secularism and naturalism grew up in large parts of the West, especially Nevada and Utah and parts of Colorado and Arizona. And this is to say nothing about the pulsating rhythm of national "pride" as American troops "liberated" lands held by Spain, permitting the introduction of Protestant proselytism and the founding of Freemasonic lodges to take Catholics out of the Church in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Philippines, where over 60,0000 Catholic Filipinos who resisted the unjust invasion and occupation of American forces were slaughtered during the Philippine-American War and a number more slaughtered during the administration of President Theodore Roosevelt, the thirty-third degree Mason from, I am ashamed to admit, my own "native place" of Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York.

The "civilized" United States of America has, of course, exported its spiritually and even physically poisonous brand of "music" and "entertainment" and commercialism around the world, destroying many lives and breaking up many families in the process. The forces of organized naturalism in Hollywood, which are one and the same as Judeo-Masonry, have contributed mightily to the breaking down of true national differences across the world by means of motion pictures and televisions and DVDs and CDs, thereby playing a very important and vital role in reviving the spirit of the Druids in Catholic Ireland and reviving the old barbaric spirit in many other places in Europe and around the world.

Catholics are no longer in the vanguard of resisting the American cultural invasion of the world. Indeed, robbed of true sacraments and of true priests and bedazzled by the spectacles of "popes" shaking hands with clowns and gyrating dancers at World Youth Day and "Masses" celebrating the "gay lifestyle" featuring "men" in painted faces, Catholics have indeed made their own "opening up to the world," permitting false shepherds to help them to take leave of their Catholic senses and to participate in a never-ending "party," both ecclesiastically and socially.

Mexico, Our Lady's country, has been one of the countries most influenced by the cultural poisons sent its way by its not-so-friendly neighbor to the north, the United States of America, and by conciliarism's "opening up" to the barbaric practices eradicated by the spread of the Faith there. Mexico was, after all, the focus of special attention paid to it by American Freemasons in the decades after the founding of the United States of America. Money and arms were sent into Mexico by American Freemasonic lodges to "liberate" it from Spanish colonial rule. It only stands to reason that the devil would want to use conciliarism as the means of further cementing his grip on the country that belongs to the woman who has crushed his head, namely, Our Lady.

The Mexican Revolution of the early Nineteenth Century was influenced by both the American and French Revolutions, to be sure. It was similar to the American Revolution in that its leaders extolled themselves as heroes who were rising up against the injustices of a European power. It was similar to the French Revolution in that it shed the blood of all those deemed to be guilty of having "collaborated" with the Spaniards and was particularly vicious at various points in its development in its persecution and torture and murder of Catholics, even though much of the Mexican hierarchy supported the quest for independence from Spain in 1821 because of a liberal regime that had come to power in Spain in 1820. The Mexican hierarchy did not realize that their own people were soon to become victimized by a revolution that was founded in decidedly anti-Catholic principles. Not even the Mexican hierarchy recognized at the time that the floodgates opened by the modern secular state, founded on principles of naturalism in one instance and anti-Theism in the other, represented in different ways by the United States and France, could not be controlled in their own country.

The triumph of the Mexican Revolutionaries resulted in the closing in the 1830s of the Franciscan missions in Texas and California, where Father Junipero Serra had worked assiduously for the conversion of the native peoples. This warfare against the true Church and her members characterized all of the various phases of the Mexican Revolution during its first 120 years of murderous rule, which many in the United States believed was a sign of Mexico's "progress."

The years between 1910 and 1930 were particularly bloody in Mexico. Apart from the fratricidal warfare that took place among the Masons that controlled Mexico, there was another outbreak of overt violence and persecution of thousands upon thousands of Catholics. It was during this outbreak that Father Miguel Augustin Pro, a Jesuit priest and the great champion of Christ the King, was executed by a firing squad on November 23, 1927, an event that made headlines throughout Mexico City, none of which fazed the thirty-third degree Freemason named Will Rogers, who heaped lavish praise upon the man who ordered Father Pro's execution, Mexican President Plutarco Elias Calles, on the very day after Father Pro was assassinated:

Strong hands, quick to become doubled fists, a hard jaw, and a heavy scowl have sometimes been called the typical externals of President Plutarco Elias Calles. The fact that he once publicly alluded to "the grunts of the Pope" caused some to fear that his mind might resemble his fists. Last week such mistaken impressions were given the lie when Senor Calles proved himself not only supple of body but adept at mellow geniality. Scene: the $375,000 private train of the President of Mexico which puffed all week, from one hospitable ranch in northern Mexican states to another. On board were the new U. S. Ambassador to Mexico, Dwight Whitney Morrow (onetime Morgan partner), and tart-witted cowboy-clown Will Rogers. They, and other guests of the President, were privileged to see him in playful mood. At Pabellon Ranch, State of Aguascalientes, Senor Calles seated his guests around a bull ring. He had a surprise for them, he said. Quietly picking up a matador's red cape, he entered the arena.

At a flirt of the red, a small but purposeful bull charged, horns down, to gore the President of Mexico. Swirling the cape through a classic "pass," he pivoted and dodged—his chunky body suddenly achieving grace. While guests Morrow and Rogers gripped their seats, President Calles brought off three more hazardous "passes." Then, having shown his guests the dexterous and dangerous phase of bull-baiting, he strode from the ring. No bull was killed, or even pinked, lest U. S. gorges rise.

Came luncheon, provided on the scale of a local fiesta. Peasants and the local gentry mingled. President Calles, beamingly in his element, led hearty singing of mellow Spanish songs. What did the U. S. guests think ?

Mr. Morrow, rising to a toast, said something in English which was apparently not understood. Mr. Rogers then quoted Mr. Morrow in Spanish as having said: "... how could the United States ever enter into armed conflict with people like these? ..." Amid shouted cheers President Calles sprang up and clasped the Ambassador's hand. Later Mr. Morrow said to U. S. correspondents: "All this is very interesting." (Time magazine, December 12, 1927)

The atrocities being committed by the Masonic revolutionaries in Mexico in the second and third decades of the twentieth century were not condemned by the leaders of the government of the United States of America. Indeed, President Woodrow Wilson actually believed that much good could come from such atrocities. The following quote, taken from Robert Leckie's book, Catholic and American, will illustrate this fact:

"Wilson replied [to a Father Kelley, who was a representative of James Cardinal Gibbons, the Archbishop of Baltimore, for whom Wilson had such contempt that he addressed him as Mister Gibbons]: 'I have no doubt but that the terrible things you mention have happened during the Mexican revolution. But terrible things happened also during the French revolution, perhaps more terrible things than have happened in Mexico. Nevertheless, out of that French revolution came the liberal ideas that have dominated in so many countries, including our own. I hope that out of the bloodletting in Mexico some such good yet may come.'

"Having thus instructed his caller in the benefits which must perforce accrue to mankind out of the systematic robbery, murder, torture and rape of people holding a proscribed religious conviction, the professor of politics [Wilson] suggested that Father Kelley visit Secretary of State Williams Jennings Bryan, who expressed his deepest sympathy. Obviously, the Wilson administration was committed to supporting the revolutionaries (Leckie, p. 274).

As noted, therefore, a few weeks ago, we see the convergence of the dark, sinister forces that brought to birth the very un-civilized world of modernity, where there is no place for Our Lord to be seen as its King or for Our Lady to be honored publicly as its Queen, and that brought to birth the very un-civilized word of Modernism, which serves as modernity's lapdog and water boy. A world that does not recognize the Social Reign of Christ the King is in the grip of the devil. Conciliarism helps to keep that world in the grip of the devil by refusing to insist that Christendom must be restored and by placing souls, whether wittingly or unwittingly, in the devil's grip by virtue of denying them access to true sacraments and true priests as it justifies egregious liturgical novelties and doctrinal aberrations that offend God and place in jeopardy the eternal good of souls. Barbarism is thus solidified. Indeed, the body-pierced and tattooed poster children of modern barbarism are quite welcomed into the "sanctuary" under the aegis of the Novus Ordo Missae. Cross-dressing women are welcomed to attend in their indecent, inappropriate masculine attire. The ethos of the world is enshrined, not opposed in the conciliar structures, where even good, believing souls are cheated of the Sanctifying Grace necessary to see the world clearly through the eyes of the true Faith and to recognize that conciliarism is not Catholicism.

It is not necessary, therefore, to belabor these points much more to point out that the abominable event of photographic "shoot" of over 18,000 people in their, shall we say, "natal attire" that took place in Mexico City a few days ago is just another indication of how people and their nations descend back into barbarism once the Faith is lost, especially when Sanctifying Grace is no longer present, especially when grave sacrileges are committed in the "name" of the Catholic Church by "popes" and "bishops" and "priests right in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe itself. These "popes" and "bishops" and "priests" have helped to unleash once again the demonic forces of the Aztecs and the Mayans, all in the name of "inculturation of the Gospel," you understand. These forces have been unleashed while false sacraments are administered to those Mexican Catholics who are immersed in the conciliar structures (although we were informed recently by a Bishop Rodriguez that there a large number of Mexicans are sedevacantists and that perhaps even the majority of them were sedevacantists until the Society of Saint Pius X began to "change the mentality" in some places), leaving these good people bereft of the supernatural helps they need to recognize error and to flee from a counterfeit church.

Obviously, this can all be summarized very succinctly: why should ordinary Catholics resist the forces of the barbarism of the Aztecs and the Mayans when what is perceived to be the Catholic Church "celebrates" those forces? Why should ordinary Catholics recognize that Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego, who was walking on his way to the Immemorial Mass of Tradition on December 9, 1531, to forever eradicate the vestiges of the barbarism of the Aztecs and the Mayans when both the naturalists of Judeo-Masonry in Mexico and the conciliarists in Mexico distort and deconstruct the  history of Our Lady's appearances on Tepeyac Hill? How can Catholics worldwide recognize that the forces of Judeo-Masonry and conciliarism are one and the same when there is as of yet an ongoing effort to distort and deconstruct Our Lady's Fatima Message as we approach the ninetieth anniversary of her first apparition to Lucia dos Santos and her cousins, Jacinta and Francisco Marto?

What we can do in the midst of the chaos that dwells in a world which is in the grip of the devil and a time when so many Catholics do not have access to true sacraments and to true priests is to build up the Kingship of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in our own hearts and souls. We must strive to grow in virtue and to eliminate vice by our daily cooperation with the graces won for us by the shedding of every single drop of Our Lord's Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross that flows into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, the Mediatrix of All Graces. We must give all of our prayers and all of whatever merits we earn each day to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the consecrated slaves of His Most Blessed Mother's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. We must embrace suffering as the price of discipleship, counting as gain to carry the Cross of the Divine Redeemer in our daily lives as we practice True Devotion to Mary, which will lead us into an ever greater intimacy with Himself, making us ever eager to pray for crosses so that we can help serve as an instrument, no matter how small or insignificant, in the conversion of just one other sinner.

Yes, the conversion of the world begins with our efforts to convert ourselves on a daily basis in cooperation with Our Lord's ineffable graces, extending from there to seek the conversion of perhaps, just perhaps, mind you, one other sinner, as we are reminded in the Book of Ezechiel:

And if the watchman see the sword coming, and sound not the trumpet: and the people look not to themselves, and the sword come, and cut off a soul from among them: he indeed is taken away in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at the hand of the watchman. So thou, O son of man, I have made thee a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and shalt tell it them from me. When I say to the wicked: O wicked man, thou shalt surely die: if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked man from his way: that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at thy hand But if thou tell the wicked man, that he may be converted from his ways, and he be not converted from his way: he shall die in his iniquity: but thou hast delivered thy soul. Thou therefore, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: Thus you have spoken, saying: Our iniquities, and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them: how then can we live?

Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel? Thou therefore, O son of man, say to the children of thy people: The justice of the just shall not deliver him, in what day soever he shall sin: and the wickedness of the wicked shall not hurt him, in what day soever he shall turn from his wickedness: and the just shall not be able to live in his justice, in what day soever he shall sin. Yea, if I shall say to the just that he shall surely live, and he, trusting in his justice, commit iniquity: all his justices shall be forgotten, and in his iniquity, which he hath committed, in the same shall he die. And if I shall say to the wicked: Thou shalt surely die: and he do penance for his sin, and do judgment and justice, And if that wicked man restore the pledge, and render what he had robbed, and walk in the commandments of life, and do no unjust thing: he shall surely live, and shall not die.

None of his sins, which he hath committed, shall be imputed to him: he hath done judgment and justice, he shall surely live (Ez. 33: 6-16)

May we, as the consecrated slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help to plant a few seeds, especially by the praying of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary, for the day when barbarous nations will be once again converted to Catholicism, where superstition and sacrilege, including that of the Novus Ordo Missae, is replaced once again by the true worship that is the Immemorial Mass of Tradition, where a true civilization founded in a humble and docile submission to the Deposit of Faith that Our Lord has entrusted solely to the Catholic Church and in a deep and tender devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, is the norm once again in the Americas and throughout the world.

We must also remember rely upon the patronage and protection of Saint Michael the Archangel, who appeared with Our Lady on Tepeyac Hill, especially on this feast day dedicated to his apparition to the Bishop of Siponto, Italy, near Monte Gargano, in the year 492. Praying the longer version of the Saint Michael the Archangel Prayer, which is found at the end of every one of these postings, every day is a good way to help us ally ourselves with the Heavenly forces as they assist Our Lady in her Heavenly mission to vanquish the forces of Hell by means of her Most Holy Rosary and devotion to her Immaculate Heart.

The Apostles did not see the glory of the first Christendom with their own eyes. We may not live to see another Christendom as the fruit of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with our own eyes. Like the Apostles, however, may we simply remain steadfast in fidelity to the truths of the true Faith, entrusting all to Our Lord through His Most Blessed Mother's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. What are we waiting for? And let us make sure to rely upon the patronage and protection of Saint Michael the Archangel, who appeared with Our Lady on Tepayec Hill.

The Longer Version of the Saint Michael the Archangel Prayer, composed by Pope Leo XIII, 1888

O glorious Archangel Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, spirits of evil.  Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil.  Fight this day the battle of our Lord, together with  the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in heaven.  That cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels.  Behold this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage.  Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the Name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay, and cast into eternal perdition, souls destined for the crown of eternal glory.  That wicked dragon pours out. as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.  These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on Her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck the sheep may be scattered.  Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory.  They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious powers of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude.  Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church.  Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations.  Amen.

Verse: Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.

Response: The Lion of the Tribe of Juda has conquered the root of David.

Verse: Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.

Response: As we have hoped in Thee.

Verse: O Lord hear my prayer.

Response: And let my cry come unto Thee.

Verse: Let us pray.  O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as suppliants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin, immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious Archangel Saint Michael, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all other unclean spirits, who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of our souls.

Response:  Amen.
