[Update on the Octave Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Commemoration of Saints John and Paul within the Octave of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist: Work on my next original article is nearly complete. The hour, however, is late, and I need at least four or five more hours to write the conclusion and then to format it for publication on this platform. 

[In the meantime, however, in addition to the completion of my newest book and the commencement of the promotional work in its behalf, I want to inform the readers of this site that an article dealing with many of the developments in the absurd world of naturalism will be forthcoming in about two weeks after part two of the new commentary is completed by the middle of next week. Given all that is happening witih the Plandemic right now, though, it appears that part six of "Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus" may have to be written next month as time permits. An anthology on matters pertaining to the medical industry and the proper care of the sick is also being prepared at this time.

This very brief reflection demonstrates the contrast between the purity and zeal for the conversion of sinners exhibited by the last of the Old Testament Prophets, Saint John the Baptist, with the impurity of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who is content to "accompany" unrepentant sinners in the name of a false "mercy" that can lead both him and those he indemnifies to eternal perdition. A longer reflection, His Name Shall Be John, is archived on this site and was included in the text of To Live in Light of Eternity, Volume 3, which, of course, is still available for purchase in paperback or Kindle formats.

Speaking of books, the revised version of my doctoral dissertation, The Battle Over the Oyster Bay-Rye Bridge: Defeating Nelson Rockefeller and Preserving Long Island Sound, is now available for purchase in both ebook and paperback formats. The book, which is an examination of how two ad hoc, single-purpose political interest groups gradually built what they called "picket fences" from 1964 to 1973 to isolate Governor Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller in his quest to build a bridge over Long Island Sound, contains an author's afterword of interest to Catholics and has a foreword written by a former academic colleague. Obviously, the book will not be of interest to many readers of this site. However, a few may find the narrative of the intrigue, which was documented by the researching of primary sources and first-hand interviews of seventy-six people involved in the controversy in one form or another, interesting to read.

As John Glover Roberts had a busy week doing his best imitation of the late Earl Warren, who as the Chief Positivist and Deconstructionist of the United States of America from October 5, 1953, to June 23, 1969 (a wonderful day-after high school graduation gift for me), I can going to hold off on publishing any commentary about Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, and the other decisions rendered by the Supreme Court of the United States of America last week until the decision in the case of June Medical Services v. Russo has been rendered. There is no sense writing two needlessly repetitious commentaries in such a short span of time.

After all, although I will do soon again after the decision in the June Medical Services v. Russo case, how many times can I remind readers that the Constitution of the United States of America, which admits of no higher authority than its own text for judicial interpretation and application, is as defenseless in the hands of legal positivists as Holy Writ is in the hands of Protestants and Modernist Catholics? Men who do not recognize the binding precepts of the Divine Law and the Natural Law and submit to Holy Mother Church’s infallible teaching about their interpretation will wind up descending to the depths of the abyss. Naturalism leads to only one result over the course of time: tyranny, which arises from the chaos engendered by refusing to recognize Christ the King as He has revealed Himself exclusively through His Catholic Church and, concomitantly, refusing to cooperate with the supernatural helps she alone has to provide men for their sanctification and salvation, upon which the entirety of social order depends.

Weninger’s “Third Sermon for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.” The concluding section of the commentary on Father Vigano will contain an explication of this sermon.

Today's feast, which was extended to the universal church by Pope Pius IX, is the result of at least six centuries of devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus that culminated with the apparitions of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque at the height of Jansenism in the late-Seventeenth Century. 

None of us deserves the mercies of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Yet it is that Our Divine Redeemer does indeed shower us with those mercies if we approach Him with a contrite heart, especially by making regular use of the Sacred Tribunal Penance to make good, integral confessions of our sins to a true priest as we promise to amend our lives, to do penance and to sin no more. We are loved by Love Himself. We are loved particularly by Love Incarnate, Who died for us on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us.

Our Lord's love for us is an act of His Divine Will, the ultimate expression of which is the salvation of our immortal souls as members of His Catholic Church. What an obligation we have to return love unto Love Himself as we seek to serve Him as His consecrated slaves through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

What happened to my promised commentary on Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia?

Good question.

I have been busy preparing an updated and revised version of my doctoral dissertation for publication, a project that has required whatever attention I could give to it on any particular day. As it has turned out, John Glover Roberts has had a busy week protecting the work of the District of Columbia swampland, a reality that will expand the scope of the commentary that I had hoped to have published yesterday, the Octave Day of Corpus Christi and the Commememoration of Saint Ephrem the Deacon and the Commemoration of Saints Mark and Marcillianus. It is now my hope to have the next commentary published by Sunday within the Octave of the Sacred Heart and the Commemoration of Saint Aloysius Gonazaga, S. J.

Well, the Feast of Corpus Christi has now turned into the Friday within this great feast's octave (and the commemorations of Saint John of San Facundo and of Saints Basilides, Cyrinius, Nabor and Nazarius), and the only strength that this author has left at this point is to post this part five of "Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus," which I hope will be the last installment in this series.

It is my present intention to write two more commentaries for this site this month as I continue to work on book projects, one of which should be ready for publication next week. One of the two articles with deal with Father Carlo Vigano's discovery that there has been a "parallel church" since the "Second" Vatican Council without his coming to the logical conclusion that must follow from such a discovery and the other article will be part two of "Naturally Absurd," which will be a lengthy commentary on the political absurdities of the moment going back to the impeachment trial and the "national prayer breakfast" the day after its conclusion and continuing to the present time.

Today is the great Feast of Corpus Christi. This article, written a long time ago now and slightly revised over the years, is an exhortation to the readers of this site to spend more and more time in adoration before Our Beloved before His Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament if this is at all possible in your area. 

As been noted several times in the past few months, I am not reposting each of my past reflections on feast days that I have been published in the first three volumes of "To Live in Light of Eternity." However, I continue to do so on major feast days such as this one, the transferred Feast of the of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary that was instituted by Pope Pius XII in 1954. This feast is annually on May 31 at the conclusion of the month of May, which is the month of Our Lady, but has been transferred to the first free day liturgically this year because May 31, 2020, was Pentecost Sunday.

Every person on the face of this earth is called to honor Mary our Immaculate Queen. Every nation on this earth is called to give public honor to the Queen of Heaven and of Earth, Our Lady, she who made possible our very salvation by her perfect Fiat to the Holy Will of God the Father at the Annunciation. It is fitting that we end her month, the month of May, with this great feast as we hope end our lives with the help of her prayers so that we can enjoy an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Paradise as we give all adoration and worship to the Most Blessed Trinity and give her our due love, honor and gratitude.

Progress is being made on part five  of "Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus," but, as noted yeserday, several days of additoinal writing are necessary as I am finishing a book project that will not be published until next week as I am awaiting a review from a former acadmic colleague of mine before doing so.

Today is Trinity Sunday and the Commemoration of the First Sunday after Pentecost, thus beginning the second half of the liturgical year that began with the First Sunday of Advent.

The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity was revealed to us by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Although there are clear references in the text of the Old Testament to a plurality of Persons in the Divine Godhead ("Let us make man in our own image"), human reason, which can come to the conclusion that God exists, is insufficient to know about the existence of the Most Blessed Trinity. Our Lord Himself, the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity made Man in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb, had to reveal this to us. The doctrine of the Most Holy Trinity is rejected by all infidels and misrepresented by most Protestant sects.

To wit, many Protestants, especially in the evangelical and fundamentalist sects, are "baptized" in "the name of the Lord Jesus," not in "The Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost," which is invalid on its face. This means that many hundreds of thousands of Protestants are not even Christians despite their thinking that they are. We must defend the doctrine of the Most Blessed Trinity with our very lives if necessary, having frequent recourse to the making of the Sign of the Cross throughout the day. This is a custom that is held dear by many Spaniards and Latin Americans.

Remember, Jorge Mario Bergoglio did not want to give a "blessing," not that he is capable of giving one as a lay Jesuit revolutionary, that is, when address the crowd on the Capitol Mall in Washington, District of Columbia, on Thursday, September 24, 2015, the Feast of Our Lady of Ransom, for fear of offending "unbelievers."

Part five of "Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus" is being written at this time, although it may not appear for a few days.

This is a relatively brief commentary on the tragic circumstances unfolding in the United States of America at this time.

Another short commentary will follow in a few days. The next commentary will focus on the insidious nature of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, John Glover Roberts, another one of George Walker Bush's "gifts that keep on giving."

Although my own next original article will not appear until Friday or Saturday because of other work commitments and the time that will be needed to write it, I am presenting to you a transcription of a very powerful sermon on Whit Monday that was written and delivered by Father Francis X. Weninger, S.J., here in the United States of America in the early 1880s. This sermon has great relevance to contemporary events unfolding right before our very eyes, and I will provide a bit of commentary on this sermon in one of my next original articles on this site.

For the moment, though, suffice it to consider the impact that Father Weninger’s books and sermons had upon Americans, including a Jewish man who converted to the Catholic Faith because of Father Weninger’s writings:

Weninger’s writings during his life time were extensive and varied across a wide spectrum of topics, including, but not limited to, scripture commentaries, works on canon law, sermons, mission techniques, and musical compositions. These works had a great impact their readers, as shown in a letter that was sent in memoriam by a Jewish man from New Orleans. In the letter, he writes:

“To my sincere sorrow, I read in to-day’s paper of the demise of Fr. Weninger of Cincinnati. Not having had the pleasure of knowing him personally, I have learned to love him from studying some of his works, and it was for some time a favorite idea of mine, when passing through Cincinnati, to call on him and that him for the great spiritual benefit I derived by perusing his books. His picture is hanging over my desk, and if the prayers of a poor sinful Hebrew convert, whom by his writings he has helped by to find again the true and only way that leads to salvation, are acceptable toward the repose of his soul, I will thus try and show him my gratitude.” “Father Weninger,” Woodstock Letters 18, no. 1 (1889): 123 (As found at Jesuit Archives: The Digital Collection of Father Francis X.
