Late-Night Update

Is It Curtains For Madame Defarge

As the hour is late and the available gigabytes to me are fewer than I need for the rest of the month, I am going to shut down the computer even though a winner of the presidential election has not been determined.

It should come as no surprise whatsoever that the country is pretty evenly divided. This is because . Certain outcomes in the coastal "blue states" voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, something that I noted would be the case in . Donald John Trump's margin of victory in Ohio was larger than predicted, and his substantial win in Wisconsin was completely unexpected.

While the results in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota (which will be won, it appears, that Mrs. Clinton), New Hampshire, Maine, and Arizona are not yet known (I think that they are counting the votes in some of those states by means of an abacus), it appears that the counting is going to continue for many hours.

Work will resume tomorrow, by which time a winner will have been determined. The closeness of the vote in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Hampshire may trigger mandated recounts.

While this is an entertainig spectacle, I want to remind readers that even if the Clintons are sent packing, a result that, regardless of my criticism of Donald John Trump, I would find quite delightful, this does not mean that the root causes of the problems facing the United States of America will be addressed as it is impossible for a nation to realize temporal prosperity and national security if its laws continue to promote sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance. We must pray for the conversion of souls, and it is the fact that the conversion of non-Catholics to the Catholic Faith is not part of the "agenda" of the counterfeit church of conciliarism that the errors of Modernity have been permitted to spread to such a point that a nation where most of those who voted today do not realize that men must do penance for our sins.

We trust in the intercessory power of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary to help us now, and at the hour of our death.

Viva Cristo Rey!

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Theodore, pray for us.
